Failing a hover check means that you can't hover - you have to make a move action to fly, which means you can't make a full attack. It's no problem, because ...
Nali's first arrow drops the shae, and she coasts gently onto the platform.

The shae keep mementos of those they have particularly enjoyed torturing to death. These items are stashed in ornate bags kept with the
shae, treated as valued trophies. There is a robe of bones, a ring of sustenance, and a heavyload belt.

It has four wide alcoves containing tables that appear to have been used for cruel experiments and torture. Each is surrounded by a variety of surgical implements, while straps, hooks, and chains on the surfaces have clearly been used to restrain subjects during procedures. A pale, gray body lays on one of the tables, its
skin flayed from its body.

After returning to his normal form, he stands amidst the party and releases a burst of positive energy to collectively deal with the minor wounds.

"Grim, dark place" Xien picks up the ring and puts it through his finger.
Before moving forward, Xien raises his hands and begins a nagaji dance. Some seconds later his mount Eidi materializes just beside him. Xien pads the lizard friendly and mounts back on him.

Perhaps due to his own non human nature, the nagaji is not that impressed by the horror picture of the skin flayed body "The elfen hasss proven canny on thossse dutiesss"
The nagaji warrior just waits, observing the room on alert, with his shield adjusted back at his arm and his trident ready to be thrown to any danger.

"ooh. I finally get to use my new gadget." Hannah says excitedly. She grabs the brass spider from off her belt, pulling the control disk off the device and pulls some chain out. Playing with the levers and buttons on the disk, the spider comes to life and marches off towards the chains. Once there, the brass spider climbs some chains and begins to work.

Hannah's spider goes to work, disabling the chains and freeing the prisoner.
Unfortunately, he is quite dead.
Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on what you were hoping for, the body is still warm. The torturer may be close by.
The whole cavern begins rattling gently as a growing chanting can be heard emanating from the entrance to the Cairn.
No secret entrances were detected. (i rolled earlier)

"That's...pretty impressive," Djorn says, watching Xien askance as he begins to dance but then grinning and nodding approvingly when the nagaji brings his mount back to his side.
"And so was that," he says as Hannah manages to stop the chains from moving.
He approaches the alien autopsy and examines the victim, with some distaste on his face but quickly turns his attention to the rest of the room.
"A dead end? Did we miss something?"
But then the rumbling starts. "Did we climb all the way up here just to need to climb all the way back down?" he says, looking at his companions.

Well... if that chanting is any indication it seems we need to head back to the entrance and ensure we don't miss catching up with the torturer.

If we wait, we may never catch up with the Onyx alliance, and they likely already have the talisman they sought to use against the Blakros family. I don't think we can afford to wait...
Arin states, with only a hint of urgency, given that he doesn't often exhibit much emotion.

Frankly, the BBE is collapsing the Cairn and anyone left inside is going to get shut in. There's no other exit to the second floor - as cruel as it sounds (I believe the author of this scenario is Zon-Kuthon himself), the only reason to climb up was for one combat and to climb back down.
Eidi should have an untrained +6 to Climb, should he not?
