The arc leaps between the two lions
reflex blue: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
reflex green: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
The blue cat dodges completely and the green one gets lightly singed.
Grimm moves up to swat at the red furred cat and hits it, but not soundly.
The blue cat then reaches in to a nearby tent, grabs a goblin then moves to leap/climb back over the fence.
It ends just on the other side of the fence.

Horrified by one of the goblins being taken from a tent he was supposed to be guarding, Muzzo rushed over to where the other two lions were and lunged. And with the swing and blast, the last cat goes down. The goblins come out. Zig comes up. "Not the worse night we have had. At least they know you are here now. Still we can work with this."
At this point other goblins come out and secure some of the debris from the battle, but otherwise they are being very pragmatic about the event.
It is dark but before midnight. What do you wish to do?

![]() |

"I can see the merits of both courses of action," Rufous ponders in a rare display of pragmatism. "If we go now, we can stay hot on the trail of this aggressive cat. I have a lot of my daily spell power still available. But that means that we should look for another way of healing Muzzo's wounds."
"On the other hand," he continues, "if I don't rest, I won't be able to replenish my spells in the morning. If we wait until dawn, we will all be fully rested which might give us what we need for the task ahead."
After a short pause, Rufous adds, "I think we should press on. We have the advantage now. Trig, Yaegren, what say you?"
I am only down one spell slot for the day, but I've used both of my heal scrolls. If we stay I can heal Muzzo before retiring for the night. If we pursue, then I should save my spells for the fight ahead.
By saying that Rufous wants to press on, I am indicating that he still has a lot to contribute to another combat. If anyone feels like they have spent too many of their daily resources to likewise contribute, then he will change his vote to waiting until first light.

![]() |

"And leave the camp undefended? These cats are apparently smart, they might come back in the night if they have bodies to spare. An attack by day is less likely." Yaegren scratches his chin. "Maybe one or two of us can go out a short ways, pick up the trail's general direction. Then we'll descend on their hidey-hole tomorrow and teach 'em a lesson."
Ninja'd! Yaegren is careful, and would rather wait. That said, he is almost full on infused reagents and has darkvision. But he'll go with the majority vote.

How many of us are particularly effective in the dark of night?
I think four of us have darkvision: the two dwarves and the two goblins.
"Yaegren has a good plan. Here," Rufous reaches down and picks up a small stone. He mutters a word in celestial and waves his hand over the rock, which immediately begins glowing with soft white light. "If we split up, I will remain behind. Those who go to track the animal will take this light. Should we fall under another attack, I will extinguish the light, signaling for your hasty return."
