The young Lashunta smiles politely to Royo and his clique, not quite sure what to make of the twists and turns in the conversation. She thought it went well enough, especially with Hadir's reflections on the priesthood. Catching her faction leader's signal, she bows out to report in.
"Smashing," says Rilynn enthusiastically. "I didn't get that sense of completeness with Royo, but those professorial types tend to talk in circles. Iteration-177 is eating out of my hand."
Kat5e
|
Kat catches the signal from the first seeker and motions to Patterson with a head jerk in the faction leaders direction. She excuses herself and makes her way over.
"I think it's going ok with Ykris. A few drinks and hot goss always works. If anyone is interested, he seems open to sharing a host-symbiote connection. Might be a good way to influence him. I didn't press him on it, I have some files I'd prefer remaining private."
Patterson LXII

Patterson follows the android over, nodding in agreement. "I think we got somewhere with them. No idea what makes Zo! tick, though."

"This has not been my finest hour as a Starfinder. I seem to blunder with my words more often than not. But it could be worse. I think I made a good impression on Royo, anyways."
Edward Ainsworth
|
Edward disengages with Zo! and heads towards the assembled Starfinders.
"I believe Rilynn and I managed to make an impression on Naiaj. As for Zo!... Hard to be sure. The fellow is very intriguing. I might have entertained him, if only a while, with popular media talk, although that is hardly my area of expertise."

Luwazi listens to you all intently, her smile growing wider as you report your successes so far. Taking a sip from her drink - a vibrant green affair sparkling with silver glitter - she nods before replying. ”Wonderful, you all seem to have a good grasp of your situations and it is good to hear you are faring well and know your limitations - crucial in high pressure situations.”
The First Seeker takes another sip of her drink before you see someone attempt to catch her eye at the other edge of the stage - an Eoxian diplomat who is waiting patiently. Spying them Luwazi smiles and indicates the party. ”As you can see my job is mever done, and you still have some time to see to your own task agents. You are right in that Iteration is ‘eating out of your hand’ as you put it and Ykris seems more than satisfied with your knowledge and gossip.” she says before continuing ”Venture Captain Naiaj and Royo are both happy but i feel a little more would see them totally swayed - As you have guessed Zo! Will require a bit more work, but you should find out what makes them tick first.”
Luwazi bids you all good luck before excusing herself to speak with the diplomat.
You know have a few more rounds to totally impress them. Ykris and Iteration are done so just Naiaj, Royo, both of whom are close and Zo! Who will need some work

Oda and Zo!
Disengaging from the First Seeker, the Half-orc makes their way to Zo! who is watching in apparent glee as a Half-Elf Starfinder, a veteran agent by their gear, tries an odd smoking delicacy offered to them. The Half-Elf begins to cough almost immediately as their eyes begin to stream. Shrugging, Zo senses Oda's presence and spins - the wide grin never leaving their parchment-coloured face.
"Well hello there! It has been a while hasn't it? You did wonderfully indeed, very tough!" Zo! happily reminisces with Oda about their experience - waiting patiently for them to reply.
Patterson LXII

Patterson grins as he gets the information on the elebrian. "I think I can show off a bit for them. Wish me luck, hey?" He once again approaches Zo!, taking care to stay in the undead's line of sight as he comes up next to Oda. He waits patiently for an opening before speaking.
"Ser Zo!, I apologize for taking your time again, but I hadn't realized you were interested in physical skills such as this." With a quick glance around to make sure he won't run into anyone, the human executes a one-handed handstand, comes back to his feet, and finishes with a backflip.

Their eyes widen as Patterson flips first to one hand and then an effortless flip. They clap elegantly as Patterson returns to their feet and sticks the landing.
"Wonderful! Simply wonderful! You must simply have your people talk to mine - I have the perfect role in mind!" the Elebrian replies with a wide smile, clearly satisfied.

With her riveting intellectual conversation at a close, Rilynn cannot help but spy the antics of her teammates. And With that everyone is impressed well done all!
Whilst Edward shares interesting data with the Gnomish venture Captain, who takes a few snap shots and does some working out on a datapad - putting down the one pinging her about the Drow on Apostae to do so. "Fascinating, a truly unique phenomenon indeed!" they reply with wonder.
The other side of the room is a different manner of beast entirely however, as Oda and Patterson team up to provide a truly acrobatic and athletic display - the Half-orc showing off their core strength in standing firm as the Human performs an effortless flip from the palm of their hands. As they flip and fly, Hadir moves in a synchronised pattern, timing their thrusts and spins with the physical display - the spear darting out in between a particularly wonderful backflip, seemingly passing within inches of Patterson.
Rilyn rushes to the Tech-guy, finding that they were a step ahead of her, already filming the display. "Haha! This will go great on the next infomercial for the Society - Come for the parties... stay for the acrobats!" they chuckle.

As the display finishes to a round of applause, the group receive a ping from Radazasm, indicating that they should join the Vesk outside in one of the service halls surrounding the Skyreach room. When you all gather, Radazasm is clearly tense and not in the same jovial mood they were before.
The burly vesk doesn’t mince words. “We’ve got a situation on our hands. I’ve been following rumors of a somewhat notorious assassin who only recently showed up on Absalom Station. I just heard from one of my contacts that signs point to the First Seeker as the assassin’s next target—and if that’s the case, the assassin will almost certainly make a move tonight." they let it sink in before continuing.
“Now here’s the thing. I’ve got enough security here that no one’s really in any danger; and besides, Luwazi’s no stranger to a fight. But it’d look really bad for the Society if someone took at shot at her in front of all these high-ups, you know what I mean?" again they let their words sink in.
“On the other hand, if a team of crack Starfinders were to investigate the rumours and unmask the assassin, we’d be able to show that we can still hold our own and add some, oh, let’s say, gravitas to the First Seeker’s announcement tonight. Defeat this assassin in style, impress the investors, make yourselves look good in the process... What do you say?”
They then pause and pull out a case, handing it over. "A gift from the First seeker and I for a job well done in there."
Hadir, Psychic Knight

either Oda or Hadir should probably take the armor. Do you want it Oda? One of the two of us or Patterson should probably take the Fangblade

With a follow-up ping to your comm units, Radazasm provides the address "Go to the address, check it out and if you find any evidence of who the Asassin might be or what they're plan of attack is then radio in and we'll go from there. Good luck agents".

Radazasm looks at Rilyn, their yellow reptillian eyes blinking slowly at the peeved tone from the agent. "Yes, the First Seeker is aware - this isn't my first gig." they reply flatly, voice dripping with sarcasm. He then turns to Edward, their smooth tone returning as if their previous statement hadn't happened. "Station Security are not yet aware - not enough evidence to go on and my Spiders are on protection duty. If you find something more substantial and feel the need we can move in on it.
As you take the offered gear, Radazasm leaves you to continue their own preparations and ensure their mercenary unit is in place. Travel to the Sparks from the Lorespire Complex is via a series of long lifts that traverse the Spike - a journey that takes 15 minutes. We are now on Slide 7 - if you haven't already please copy a token over and fill in the details on Slide 2 ^^
After the journey through increasingly industrial elevators, youarrive in the rough-and-tumble neighborhood of Sparks. The air carries a distinctive metallic tang of mechanical industry, sharp chemical smells, and the stale odors of countless living beings crammed into too-tight spaces. The corrugated metal corridors are cramped, with ceilings only 10 feet high and lit only with stark LED lighting strips; the grinding, clanging, clattering sounds of countless engineers at work carry through the halls.
You are hardly alone in the clamour of a working sector that never truly sleeps, but you attract little attention amongst the residents
and workers who have little interest in tasks other than their own. It takes you only a few minutes to traverse the corridors to the address Radaszam provided; The stained plastic door of this engineering bay is no different from the dozens lining the grimy hallway. A glaring LED lighting strip illuminates the address code imprinted along the doorframe. Every few seconds, this light, along with all the others along the corridor, flickers briefly. Though the sounds of industry still echo through the corridors, this section clearly sees less traffic and is currently devoid of passersby.

As she moves up to the rented engineering bay she takes notice of the flickering lights, which appear to be flickering uniformly.

Are both Computers check spoilers supposed to be the same?
The least experienced with these kinds of operations, Rilynn waits patiently for one of the others on the team to recon. She stands several feet back, eyes constantly scanning the bay for movement, and notes the side entrance.

Knowing that they are now hunting an assassin Oda takes no chances. She takes a minute and a half to slide into her armour. The armour looks to be standard, but has several bones and pieces of exoskeleton tied to the belt.
Her armour on she stands allowing the heavy plate to settle on its joints and resting her muscles for now. While others are searching teh infosphere she settles the new fangblade at her hip and checks the placement of her doshko on her back. Satisfied that all is in order she waits for the doors to open grim-faced and ready.

Edward acquiesces the information provided by his teammates.
"Indeed. One thing is peculiar, though. Triloteya might be well known in the criminal world, but no search on the infosphere seems to turn up a picture of them of any kind.
Whilst riding on the elevators, Edward uncovers once again the microlab slotted onto his armor and begins scanning the party, sometimes asking to take some unobtrusive samples for DNA analysis purposes.
"This will allow me to bolster your biological systems, should things get... Messy."
Kat5e

Back in the elevator....Kat agrees to Edward's testing. "Knock yourself out. The muscles are semi- organic, assisted by servos. Joints are all mechanical. I've had to replace them a few times already, so ya can't help me there. My skin is a mix of organic and synthetic. If you want to investigate that closer you have to buy me dinner first" she adds the last part completely deadpan, leaving you to wonder if she's joking or not until she cracks a smile and laughs at her own bad joke. "Synth skin on high wear areas, makes repairs less intrusive. Let's hope you don't have to get that far trying to help me out"

I will cover the side door. Hadir offers telepathically, drawing his taclash and long-arm as he does so. Signal me in your mind when you are opening your door. |
Edward, engrossed in his examination of the door's mechanism, lifts his head from his work and is surprised to see all of the party bar the lashunta gone.
Hmmph, indeed. I must admit I'm usually not too keen on hunting down assassins. Are side doors preferable in this case?
The scientist unstraps his rifle from his back, pushes a syringe into the loading trap and sets it against the wall before poking his head out of the corner and speaking to the group:
"I do think we should cover both doors. Would you mind sending someone with more brawns than Rilynn and myself? Just a formality, really."
Sethran-GM
|
Working together, RIlyn and Edward discover the presence of a rudimentary trap hooked up to the control panel needed to access the engineering bay - it is clear to the two of them that someone had messed with the wiring to provide a powerful shock to anyone attempting to open the door without first disabling it. With a moment the two find the correct wiring and snip it, disrupting the flow and the threat to either side. Then, working in unison due to the telepathic links, the two separate teams count down from three and - in sync - slide open their respective doors to reveal the insides of the bay.
Rusted crates and plastic barrels crowed this cramped workspace. Discarded R2E packaging, beverage pouches, and packing material litter the space. A ledge along the south wall holds a stack of rubber mats in an approximation of a bed beside a high-quality industrial backpack. Ragged wires droop from an exposed conduit along the northern wall, occasionally showering the room in sparks as the lights flicker. You also find that you are not alone - Two Serpentine creatures rest within, and let out a high pitched scream and move to attack.
