So, with us all playing weirdos we can’t exactly ask you to play something normal... but, if you have any ideas for someone who is or looks (or can look) human, it might not hurt to have someone with some face skills who won’t immediately alarm random townsfolk and the like?

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Looks good- as soon as we finish this doll encounter I will get you worked in.

Yuki Hanako |

the (X) items in header are the modified versions for her while she is in fox-form. She will likely be spending a large portion of her time in fox form during the day after level 3.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Sorry guys- I'm buried after work today and our wonderful rural internet doesn't work in bad weather so I was delayed last night; was able to update some games and I'll still try to keep things rolling- but I'm on the road from tomorrow till the 28th, so apologies in advance and worst case we will pick everything back up the 29th.
I understand most people are traveling during this time as well.

Doctor Gareau |

Ditto - trying desperately to bake cookies and wrap gifts, so am happy to wait :)

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

This scene with the Black Rider is the closing scene of Part 2 of Snows of Summer, so we are now theoretically halfway through the first volume.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

For some reason, I thought that you already were- yes- go ahead and level to 3rd level now (the Black Rider is not a combat scene, just information/friendly encounter).

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

It's funny- I either just have or just will have characters in 3 different games which all started at very different times all level to 3rd about the same time.

Lief Stoutspear |

lol- I like how we clearly have to do this if we want to play the AP but still everyone is like not super into the idea of getting dragged into it.
Also, I've got a busy morning but I should be able to level up this afternoon, I think.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Yeah- I mean, your characters could retire and go home and call it a success, but this is THE guy who gives you THE quest that drives the other 5.33 volumes hahaha.

The Mimir |

Sorry guys I was locked out due to site issues all day- I will kick off the next section tomorrow ASAP.

Doctor Gareau |

I just managed to get logged back in! Argh!
Anyway, nice on level 3 - I will work on it once I caught up on my other games.

Doctor Gareau |

Level 3 didn't add much except 2nd level spells: Glitterdust and Vomit Swarm.
Also a feat: Extra Hex: Flight
And I realized I should be using intimidate more!
Is anyone interested in an occasional Enlarge Person? Might actually be more useful than some of the spells I was preparing.

Yuki Hanako |

Lief Stoutspear |

Sorry for the delay! It took me until today to get logged back in (I tried clearing my cookies/cache earlier but I think it only cleared recent stuff and I had to go clear everything to get it to work).
I have to bounce through all my games and let everyone know I'm back, but I should have a post up in gameplay today. Oh, and, I finished leveling before the site went done...
+1 BAB, +9 hp, +1 Will
+1 to all my skills (climb, perception, sense motive, stealth, survival, swim)
feat: iron will
and shifter's blessing [bear] (1/day, +4 Str but only 20' move for 5 rounds)

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Ok, I went through everything--
Yes, Gareau it seems like you snagged the two most valuable items.
The correct total per each party member evenly split is-
3721 g each
If you keep both unique items (spear of manhunting and cloak of the yeti) exempt from that total is-
2400 g each + cloak and spear
If you keep just the spear- 3066 g each + the spear
If you keep just the cloak- 3054 g each + cloak
I'll let you guys decide on which of those (4ish) options you want to go.
The weasel pup was not included for any cash value, so you keep that regardless.

Lief Stoutspear |

I’m open to whatever system works best for everyone but in most of the games I’m playing in right now we calculate a per person total (like Oxnard was gracious enough to do for us) and then people have the option to effectively buy found items out of the loot before we sell them off, and doing so let’s them get those at the selling price instead of retail. So if the cloak is 4,500 gold (for example) we’d all get 3721 and Doc could forego 2250 of his to keep the cloak instead... that way everyone else still gets 3721 and he gets 1471 plus the cloak.
Does that make sense?
If so, how do people feel about that as a system?

Troy Gol |

That’s fine as a guidance but RPG also means flexibility so therefore I would not want anybody to sell items they definitely want to keep just to get my share of gold.

Doctor Gareau |

I like Lief's approach, as we can always choose to "loan each other money.
So, if we all get 3721 each,I will just spend 2000 of that to keep the cloak.
The rest will go for weasel food. :)

Yuki Hanako |

sorry all! anyway, my group IRL does a mixture of two things-
RP and need
that is to say, X person has the item they found until addressed in game, and technically have "dibs" but if another player wants it they can ask for it IC. Usually this happens if, say, the rogue finds a sword they can't use the fighter wants.
Its fun. We also have done pooling before, as mentioned, where we split the gold into one extra slot for "party" funds. This goes towards group items such as healing, generic items, housing (for low levels) and to let players dip into to purchase items they may not be able to afford normally yet.
As it stands, I'm simply waiting on enough to get a headband.

Oxnard Kettlebeak |

Going forward I'll get a spreadsheet up to add stuff as we go, but with losing so many player's through this first section it got very jumbled and no one was keeping track anywhere.

Lief Stoutspear |

So, with my gold I upgraded to a +1 greatsword, +1 chainshirt, and traded my warhammer in for an alchemical-silver treated one. I also bought 3 more alchemist's fires and a potion of protection vs evil.
I believe I am ready to move forward (though, after kind of a crazy week, I'm a little bit unclear on what we're supposed to do next?)

Kolaach Gosselin |

so what Kolaach buys is
+1 Longbow, Composite
Arrows(20)x2
Arrows,Blunt(20) if availble
Morningstar
Spear
daggers x2
all sized small
restock rope(50FT) and cooking/baking ingerients(ABOUT 10GP worth)
and
Acid x 2
Alchemist Fire x10
Tanglefoot Bag x2
All pending availability

I’ve had something unexpected come up; I’m going to be offline for a while entirely not sure how long.
I’ll try to get back when I can.

Doctor Gareau |

Hope it is a good something, but in any case I hope it turns out for the best. Good luck.

Lief Stoutspear |

I’m an idiot... I forgot he had posted that. I’m in a couple games that had sort of stalled a bit and posted similar questions in all of them. Sorry. I’ll return to being patient here.

All the best to you GM!!!

Lief Stoutspear |

Apologies all but another opportunity has come up for me to continue this adventure with a different group that's just barely past where we were and I'm going to take it. If/when Oxnard returns I hope you won't have any trouble replacing me. Happy Gaming.

Lief Stoutspear |

Oxnard- if you see this, could you please mark me inactive in this campaign (there's an option for you when you edit the campaign info tab). Thank you.

Lief Stoutspear |

I'm sorry but Doctor Gareau and I already joined another table. If someone wants to take this table/thread over I won't complain but please move me to inactive.
