Moved this here so I didn't clutter up the game thread.
I guess I was just surprised by the change in init. I understand the cat's preparation and actions from a narrative perspective. But I've never seen a change in actual initiative, The initiative is a mechanical thing based on dice roll and such. It seems Boraks won init. in that group. So his combat action was a move and readied attack. Am I missing some rule here or is this a 'house rule'?

Robert,
I thought I had posted the reason for it in the GAME PLAY with a OOC but it doesn't look like the post actually up loaded. I had all sorts of issues last night with posts not being updated.
I made mistake in which leopard had what initiative and by the time I realized it I had already made several posts. So I posted a comment that I am swapping Young leopard 2 with Leopard 1 in regards to initiative. It was my fault but for some reason in my head I had that the two leopards on the east side had 21. Once I realized it I had three posts up. So I dropped a comment in there that I made a mistake but I was just going to flip the two initiatives.
It was about the same time you said you ninja'd me... Sorry I didn't catch that the comment didn't post.
I was going back and making sure they actually uploaded and for some reason I missed that one.
One of the reasons I opted to move the second leopard away and flank was because I messed up the initiative and it was my way of fixing it and not wanting to lay waste on Borak when I messed up.

Robert,
Apologies about the two NPC's. I lost a bunch of data on my OneNote a while back when I was working on those NPC's due to an issue with my Microsoft 365 account and a critical patch that didn't update correctly. At the same time Paizo went off line so I rebuilt them from memory and I didn't have all my notes.
I will quickly reskin them to match my original posts. I was looking back and realized what happened. I had to rebuild a bunch of stuff in this game and my other game due to OneNote not syncing and I didn't realize it so when I got the issue fixed it resync'd to the cloud and not vice verse...which was terrible.
Anyways, I will have them skinned to match how they should be. In the mean time we can push on but I will assume they are both proficient in bow with Cillian having a short bow instead of a sling. Rimas is proficient but doesn't have one on hand.
Sorry about the confusion...I forgot about that so it was a nice reminder. :)

What is the party's next move?
I'll post in game either tonight or in the morning. release the rage, chatter a little.
Before I get into it, are we going to go through the rest of the woods in combat rounds like we were doing or will be speeding the process up a little? Just sort of looking for a direction on how much to narrate.

I don't see the need for combat rounds. However, there were a few clues I put out there on what the cheetahs did prior to them being put down that will affect the future.

Sorry all, I had a little family emergency pop up last night...wasn't a big deal but it ate up my posting time and we had to be up early for tourney day today with my younger son's baseball team.
Getting some posts up.
I plan on posting every day this week (as long as life doesn't kick me in the knee and laugh at me as it runs away).

What? No privacy at all? Gosh, need to think about this one. Don't know if he should push for a tent or what... the main goal is to speak with her...
Yea that was interesting request from Borak. I had to think about that one for a minute but after considering a few scenes from "Spartacus" and "Rome" and Dinak's personality and position I thought that would be a good response to Borak's request.
Considering that in the ancient world the title of "Slave" had varying degrees of restrictions, freedoms and rules. Because the current setting is more middle eastern/far eastern I decided to utilize the more middle eastern (ancient/medieval) view to it.
Plus this was not uncommon in those periods... The series "Rome" and "Spartacus" really did a good job of pointing out some common lifestyle experiences...(although like many tv shows on cable they are stretched a bit far at times). I can do with out all the graphic content...just let me imagine it.

Figured since he wasn't getting info from Dinak, he would try a different tack. Also you said the girls were up for grabs and they had been talking about something going to happen...
hhmmm, not seen "Rome" or "Spartacus" working on an appropriate response.
I was surprised neither rolled 'sense motive.'
It seems Shang is joining us, so may try and work that in.

I had thought about it but I think due to the out of the blue nature of it I decided to not roll because neither were prepared for it.
Bear in mind that it took Isa two hours to care for both Shang and Cillian so he would walk up after the fact.

That's what I thought. I assumed the conversation would be over and Borak back with them. But that is the problem splitting up. Things move at different paces.
I'm processing ideas now and will post after I feed my mom lunch. I figure Borak is repulsed by the barbaric idea of performing for the crowd and will 'take her to his bed' after dark, away from the fires to keep away prying eyes. He will talk to her then.
Need to decide if he will speak to anyone else, after he eats and cleans up, before he gets her out of the cage...

Yep but that is what OOC is for to level set :)
I try to play the NPC's just as I created them and with a lot of the fluff already fleshed out in the adventure it is not hard to fill minor details on him. So often I put notes on them about their demeaner and reactions to specific things the PC's will throw at them. Realizing that players are going to throw things at you that you were not ready for I use those points I put down as markers for the crazy stuff you do throw at them :). Dinak is a kind of a "bad ass in his own mind" "Alpha leader" with a high opinion of his ancestry and race. It is hard to get a feel for his true thoughts and his true personality at the moment.
One of the things I really like about PBP is you get some time to review PC posts, notes, and then make posts that really fit the NPC's and encounters.

Sorry, started thinking about the plans for the evening and I realized I have lost all sense of time here. I know it's late afternoon or 'dinner time' but how late is it and how soon is sunset? I'm not even sure what time of year it is...
The sun is setting and will be dark in less than .5 hours. It is summer time. Probably about 8 to 9 hours past noon day.

Guile, and by extension misdirection is something I have practice in but I'm no master. I'm happy to speak whatever line you wish me to. You have reason to doubt these Black wolves?, he asked and held up a hand forestalling a predicted response. I mean more than usual. Who should I focus on?
Ok, I don't know how much you remember. So let me give a refresher.
The black wolves, Gunnar the Tharagian and Asur a Zorabi man, hired on until the city were going to, where the slave girls will be sold, The Tharagian slave girl that Borak has arranged to 'talk to' looks like she could be Gunnar's sister. The slave girls in the wagon we were riding on were talking about being ready when "it happened".
one of the Zorabi guards, Faza, recognized either Gunnar or Asur. But when we talked to Dinak about the possibility he lied and said it wasn't possible. We know the Zorabi guards are loyal to Dinak. But something smells fishy.
Are the Black wolves planning on freeing the slave girl? Are some of the guards going to help them? Or is Borak just paranoid...

All,
Just an fyi my work right now is crazy and my youngest is on a national travel team for baseball which has us travelling every weekend. I don't see my pace dropping off at any point for at least the next three to four months.
I am not sure I can get this game back on pace with my schedule. I just wanted to give both of you a heads up. There is a good chance I will close out my other game as well due to all of this.
