Mingxia looks around wondering what the yelling is about.

Raznik is hiding in the bushes waiting for the kobolds to get closer.

Mattias spotting the kobold jumps from the wagon and strides forward taking cover.

Reacting quickly Benya grabs her readies her Greataxe as she jumps out whistling for Fang to move forward.

Calling out, Mirtha jumps off the wagon moving forward and using magic to shield herself.

Conso mutters about kobolds as he moves forward and raises his shield

The kobolds break from cover moving forward with flasks in hand. Three unseen Koolds join the three spotted before as they race forward to attack.

The blue and black kobolds both move up throw their flask a the green wagon. The first flask hits on target exploding in fire splashing on Conso and Mirtha, the second missed the wagon completely but still catches Mirtha in the splash. The green wagon catches fire!

Followed by the yellow and purple kobolds moving and throwing at the Cyan colored wagon. The first flask exploses in fire behind the wagon catching it in the splash. The second flask is on target hitting the wagon and catching Benya and Mingxia in the splash. The Cyan wagon is now on fire!

The other two kobolds are moving forward trying to circle around to the front wagons.

Mirtha strides forward and tosses a produce flame at the yellow kobold.

Around the corner of the caravan steps the old hermit, throwing his arms around. Keeping unison with his motions, come the rhythmic words of an arcane incatation.

Benya decides that while the wagons burning is a problem, the kobolds can reignite them and will prioritise stopping them being able to.

"Fire!" she calls, hoping that the goblin workers will try to help with dousing the flames.

She rushes around the wagon and attempts to bury her axe in the kobold she is able to reach.

Conso tries to ineffective to stop the fire, before throwing a dagger at the blue kobold killing it with one strike.

Raznik pops out of hiding and fires two arrows at the purple kobold. It is staggered by the first arrow and killed by the second one. Bitey swoops in pecking at the dead kobold.

Mirtha smiles at the kobolds throwing magic fire back at the yellow kobold killing it with one blast of flames.

Mattias stays with the caravan and uses her magic to send an electric shock through glue and green kobold. The green one takes the full force of the bolt, but the blue one resists some of the shocks.

Benya yells fire to the goblins, the goblin gleefully yell back ” Fire!”.
She rushes forward double stride over the body of the blue one to bury her axe in the black kobold killing it instantly. Fang runs up to her.

BOT: Mingxia spends her time extinguish the fire on the wagon she’s setting in. successfully putting it out completely.

The green kobold moves up throwing his alchemical fire hitting the green wagon again. The fire spreads further on the wagon as the fire spreads. A splash of fire from the explosion catches Conso burning him slightly.

The Orange kobold double moves and tosses her alchemical fire into the purple wagon catching it on fire with the explosion.

All the goblins are pointing from their hiding places at the burning wagons with glee, ” Fire!”

Mirtha throws another bolt of fire that goes over the kobold head missing.

Benya rushes over to slice at another kobold, but it dodges her deadly weapon.

Mattias old bones creak as she causes an electric arc to dance between the two remaining kobolds. Both try to jump out of the way, the green manages to time it perfectly avoiding all damage the other one is only partially successful. Both are still alive.

Raznik rushes towards the kobolds and fires on the green one killing it with two deadly arrows.

Conso seeing the kobolds are being taken out turns his attention the burning wagon working hard, he puts out the flames!

Mingxia leaps to the other wagon and smothers the flames on the green putting it out as well.

The lone orange kobold squeaks and runs away from the scary elf with a big axe, drawing out another flask and throwing it at the fourth wagon setting it on fire with an explosion.

Hobbling back around the corner, Mattias finds the origin of the pillar of smoke rising from our caravans.

Seeing that it's too far for him to reach, he turns to the threat which he can reach: The (orange) kobold distracting Mirtha from firefighting.

Conso, seeing that his colleagues have the wagon and last kobold handled, surveys the scene for any remaining dangers or things of interest.

Mirtha sprints up to the last remaining kobold.

Migxia moves to the last wagon and works on smothering the flames putting the fire out.

Mattias hobbles forward and sends a ray of frost zipping over the kobold’s head.

Raznik moves up for a better attack view.

Benya pursues the last kobold and strikes it down with the first of two blows.

All the Kobold attackers are dead and the wagons are extinguished. The goblins slowly come out of hiding jabbering about how everyone worked together to defeat the kobolds and keep the wagons safe.

The kobold remaining gear consists of 11x lesser alchemist’s fire, 6x leather armor, 6x slings and bullets, 6x spears.

Looking around you find a hidden treasure trove taken from other victims stashed nearby containing a bolas, a khopesh, and a fighting fan.

After the ambush, nothing remains to be done but to take the wagons and complete the journey to the bridge camp. The goblins regroup.

Arriaving at the camp you find it bustling with activity. Goblin engineers do their best to guide goblin workers as the build the decking and assemble the piers; the bridge appears simple, but sturdy, and is approximately half complete by this point.

As the wagons are unloaded, Muckmuck brings your group to meet Zig, the leader of the fridge camp.

While many of the goblins at the work camp are covered in dirt and sweat, Zig stands tall and straight among them. He pours over maps of the surrounding area before speaking.

“It is good to see you. They call me Zig. I’m glad my father asked you to come here to help.”

“We have been building a very important bridge. But every night, the big cats attack our camp. We leave out meat for them and they saunter right past it. Instead, they seem bent on filling their bellies with goblin flesh. If we move camp across the river; they cross over it overnight. If we light fires around the camp to scare them away, the goblins workers burn themselves in the flames. It’s a lose-lose situation.”

“Every few nights, the cats come back to hunt us. Everyone is terrified and that’s bad for business. With all this talk of some saber-toothed whatever coming for us in the night, we’re all
too scared to finish our work. If someone doesn’t take these furballs out, I suspect the bridge isn’t ever gonna get built.”

“These kitties aren’t natural. Whatever you need, you got it. I can give you workers to build fences. But fences alone aren’t going to be enough. Either the cats go, or this bridge is history. The only other answer is death.”

There are enough supplies to build 8 squares of fencing. (see map for camp layout.)

Zig looks to the sky, ”It’s late in the day, I’ll need you to patrol the camp’s perimeter during the night and stop the felines from killing any goblin workers. Until then rest up.”

Raznik rushes up to meet Zig. He shakes his hand in a longshanks greeting, but then shows his teeth in the goblin way. "Hi, I Raznik! I so happy to meet you. You and your family so famous for Pathfinder goblins! I come help right away when I hear. I can hunt cats. Bitey no like cats anyway."

"We can do a sweep of the site and see where the best places for additional fortification. That might be something Conso is more suited for. Have you been able to find any tracks? We have two skilled rangers with us, that might be a good task for them. If there's something to find, I'm sure they will find it. I should also mention that we had some kobold troubles on the way down here. They seemed to be targeting the wagons more than us. Have you had any kobold activity in this location?"

Taking Zig's lead, Mattias does a quick (for him) walk around the perimeter.

An hour later, Mattias and Gypsos have returned.

"Where do the goblins sleep? It is important that we make sure that our guardianship is strongest there. Perhaps Raznik can sing songs and sleep among them to give them strength."

Mattias is ready to defend these workers like his tribe, and given that he's old, it's very important to find out where they cluster during the dangerous hours so he can keep close by.

Benya does a full walk around the outpost, Fang in tow, looking for signs of beast tracks or other interesting or anomalous findings. She also makes use of her Warfare Lore training to see if there's anything she could improve as far as site security goes.

Raznik rushes up to meet Zig happy to meet such a renowned goblin and offers his help hunting cats. Zig grins ” Excellent! I have faith in you and your fellow Pathfinders.”

Mirtha gathers the party around and heals everyone’s minor burns. She suggests sweeping the site and looking for tracks and ask about kobold activity. Zig frowns, ” Kobolds attacked the caravan? No only Kobold clan is Greenlick but they are pathetic group jealous of us goblins.” he seems unconcerned about them.

Mattias does a quick stroll around the perimeter before getting back. Asking about where goblins sleep. Zig points to the two groups of tents, ” Goblins sleep there unless they are healing then they sleep in the Hospital. Goblins like singing!” {see map labels}

Raznik agrees kobolds are stupid.

Conso looks around the camp identifying any place the fencing could be of use. The existing fence is made of wood and is 6 feet high it circles most of the compound. From his farm days he suspects the cat predators can probably easily climb so the fence would just slow them down a little.

Mingxia complains about not seeing in the dark.

Benya thanks Mirtha for healing and does a perimeter sweep with Fang. The fence looks to be in good condition, any tracks are more than two days old and covered by goblin tracks going every which way. She does spot an occasional track that looks cat-like.

Mirtha asks about surviving or dead goblins from the cat attacks. Zig sadly shakes his head, ” No any goblins they catch they drag off into the night. Probably inside the belles of the cats.”

Raznik has a look around trying to determine the directions the cats approach from. He finds a few tracks not erased by two days of weather or goblins. The few cat tracks he finds seem to come from the north.

Dusk is fast approaching please describe where you will be patrolling (alone or in a group) or stationed also what tactics you are using. Placement of 16 squares of fencing if any.

Mirtha commands the goblins to put up some extra fencing around the hospital.

I placed 8 of the 16 fences around there. We have another 8 we could place.

Mirtha casts a light spell on the holy symbol around her neck, then begins to patrol the grounds of the camp.

Raznik chitchats with the goblins for a while, trying to show them how strong the Pathfinders are. He points to Benya and Conso. Then tells about how Mirtha, Mattais, and Mingxia can call forth magic! He even tells them about defeating a demon!

When night starts to fall, he settles down with the group to the north, trying to stay awake as he keeps watch and hides among the other goblins. Bitey watches from the top of the command post with a command to alert everyone with loud hooting if he sees any cats.

Raznik will be hiding among the northern group of tents.

"Perhaps we should protect the supplies. We would probably wish fewer of us survived if we ran out of supplies before we reached our destination."

Mingxia would like to keep the fire going and patrol around the center of camp where there would be more light. That way she can also move toward any spot where cats are spotted.

She can offer to cast light if it would help anyone or she can keep it on her in case she needs to move away from the fire.

"Devil, Razknik. It was a devil we defeated," Mirtha says when she overhears Raznik talking about defeating the devil. Frowning as she considers whether the goblin would be offended by her correcting him, she then adds, "Raznik sank an arrow right into that creature's black heart. It wasn't enough to kill him outright but it was an incredible shot and it weakened the fiend enough that we were able to cut it down soundly. Without his deadly aim, we may have lost the paladin that was with us and as a priest of a righteous deity it would have most likely come after me next."

Conso nods at Mingxia's suggestion. Dat seems wise. He will help put up the rest of the fencing around the supplies unless there are any objections.

When night comes, Conso will patrol the inner circle of the buildings with the fire as the center with sword and shield out.

"Do we not perhaps want to maintain something closer to a standard watch schedule, to help stave off exhaustion? With three four-hour shifts we could ensure two Pathfinders are patrolling at any given time ready to raise the alarm. Some of us can see rather better at night than others, Raznik and I should be on separate shifts, but otherwise I do not think it matters who. It is preferable for everyone to be fresh as possible for the fight, when it occurs."

Taking account of the group, Mattias follows with "Perhaps tonight Raznik should be free to continue his repoire with the other goblins. Conso 1st shift, Benya second. That would leave Mirtha and I second night. Raznik third night, starting the rotation again. It's not great for sleep, but it can always be adjusted."

"Devil? Demon? Raznik no know the difference. Bad thing and very mean. But we take his chair!" The little goblin chortles. He nods to the others, content with any role they want him to have in the defense. He chatters in goblin with the workers, happy to be among so many goblins again.

Looking back to my earlier post, I'm not sure how much alerting Bitey can do according to the rules. Watching or Alert seems like a natural skill and especially for an animal companion, but it's not listed among those in the Nature skill, though I'll argue that that list seems very limited.

Mirtha focuses on reinforcing the fencing around the hospital. She patrols the grounds of the camp using a light spell.

Raznik chats with the goblins as the night falls. He keeps watching hiding among the goblins in the northern encampment. Bitey watches from the top of the command post.

Mingxia stays near the fire at the center of camp.

Conso directs the rest of the fencing around the supplies. That night he patrols the inner circle of buildings.

Benya suggests keeping a watch schedule.

Mattias agrees with taking watches suggesting a schedule.

Conso nods his agreement.

Most of the night is quiet with the occasional nocturnal goblin making noise.

Everyone is yawning and fighting sleepy eyes in the early morning hours when you hear a scratching noise to the west just outside the fence like something fell when trying to climb the wall.

Stride until I can see something, as long as I'm in the walls, and then ask "Who goes there!"
