The boat is further down on a different map. If you could see through stone it would be where I moved the oval.
There are no traps found on the door, neither by checking nor by opening it. Behind the door in the open space with several possibilities to look down at the lava below and the upper lava flow that falls down, Omari finds a suspicious large brass circle/plate at the wall on the right (Yellow line).
Ohrmizd
Ohrmizd observes the ledge and finally understands what Omari means "I see. None of us is adept at disabling that kind of stuff. Do you think we can just teleport to the other side?"
"Or maybe the plate is some kind of door leading to another section or the fortress... or to a treasure..." Ohrmizd casts detect magic and specially focuses on the brass piece.

"This stinks of trap"; it's clear from his tone of voice, Omari is not happy. He continues "the first question is, what trips it? Just passing by it, walking on the floor, or do we have to start fiddling with the plate to kick it off? The second is what does it do? Unless someone's got an overnight inspiration in all things mechanical, the only way I see to figure that out is trying stuff... and that could hurt. A lot... I could ask Erastil for a blessing and summon an earth elemental to move behind the plate, where it could find and break any mechanisms."
Ok, not sure that's a great plan - if it's a door, that might make it un-openable. Anybody else got any bright ideas?
Omari the Landless
"Yeah, putting an iron wall in front of it probably stops it if it's a trap... But if it's a door we need to get through..."
Ohrmizd
"Well, if you have a creature able to go through the wall like an earth elemental, he can burrow through and open the door for us, or come back and tell us what is there otherwise" Ohrmizd adds to the discussion "If it really is a trap we can then go with Rayhan's idea, and he can call a wall of stone to just block it"
Foxy Quickpaw
As Rayhan takes a closer look at the thing in the magic spectrum and feels if there is a hidden mechanism to open a passage the disc moves.
A gargantuan brass creature with a cone shaped head pushes him away as it charges out of its hiding spot.

Does it look like it could fly or follow us into the lava?
"Rayhan!!!" Ohrmizd is frozen in place as the gragantuan brass creature tramples over the sage "I do not think we can easily penetrate the hull of this one. Is better if we just fly or teleport away from it. Rayhan, try to lure it into the lava!"
Omari the Landless
@Foxy, put it on the map please - Khedron wants to try pushing it into the lava if he can - and 's hard to figure these things out without a map.

Khedron, great-hearted and willing, squeezed through the narrow doorway and closes with the enemy... Meanwhile, Omari slips ahead of him and takes a snapshot with his bow.

Omari - standard action - attack with bow
Khedron, double move (he can't get close enough to attack in 1 move due to squeezing to get through the doorway...) This will draw an AoO (Hopefully Ohrmizd will be able to take advantage to close.

Ohrmizd looks worried as Omari goes into the room "We should just have closed the door and planned something. That is not going to even scratch it"
Feel free to open the spoiler before, hardness 15 (hardness also applies to energy damage like that one from spells, we are not killing that thing without adamantine)
"Heshan, grasp me strongly, we are taking off" the Keleshite points through the door and shouts "Leviosa!"

"Easier for us to do than those two. I did not grant them flying remember?" Heshan looks on with worry. They were not at a point where he would have a line of sight for any of his spells without knowing where the creature was at.
Ohrmizd, are you flying towards or away from the brass object?
@Foxy, could I continue movement from where I am or does the carpet flight count as my move action?
Omari the Landless
Omari looks at the abject failure of his arrow and says "Ok, you have a point Ohrmizd, but some of us aren't flying!" as he ducks back through the door and calls Khedron after him...
Something Gargatuan shouldn't be able to squeeze through the door (I hope)

Omari pauses, waiting to see if the construct responds to Ohrmizd's taunting...
Omari shouts out "Rayhan can you come here safely, I think I have a plan, but we should talk about the details..."
When Rayhan swoops back, close enough to talk: "Ok, that thing is an animated object, right? So it's not intelligent at all - not even like an animal. It's just following pre-established orders, right? So if we all come back here and close the door, it'll go back to hiding in it's niche. Then we can use a wall spell block it off. That will stop it from detecting us when we enter the room, and unless a response to blocking it off that was programmed in, it'll just sit there as it can't detect any intruders?"
Ohrmizd
As the animated object comes to the edge to bash on him, Ohrmizd quickly commands the carpet to fly back. The Keleshite contemplates as the thing loses balance and slides down to the lava. He nods approvingly "Well done team!"
Flying back to look through the door, Ohrmizd looks at Omari and Khedron worriedly "Are you two ok?"
Omari the Landless
"A clever maneuver Ohrmizd, luring it into the lava. Yes, Khedron and I are alright. Khedron took a blow, but he is hardy... Assuming that thing was a guardian, let us see what it was guarding."

Heshan smirked as he floats back down to the ground next to Omari. "Well someone had to take the fall..."
Checking the room to see if anyone like the joke, he continued. "If not what we were looking for, I hope it is at least valuable."
Foxy Quickpaw
(B8) A river of magma flows into this domed chamber from the northeast before exiting to the southwest. The roar of a cataract can be heard from that direction. A ledge runs along the eastern edge of the magma pool a couple of feet above the level of the molten rock. A grill of thick, scorched brass bars extends from the north side of the pool all the way to the ceiling, blocking passage into the tunnel beyond. Swirling through the air from the surface of the magma to the ceiling above are dozens of burning motes.
Omari finds a secret door set near the ceiling on the west side of the pool. The tunnel beyond leads upwards.
Ohrmizd
Ohrmizd chuckles at Heshan's joke and smiles "Somewhere down those pipes the mameluks told us about someone is going to have an uncomfortable surprise."
Without further wait, he directs the carpet up into the new tunnel "Ok, let's try this one."
Keeping the bow ready, the Keleshite flies with the carpet up the tunnel, paying careful attention.

Omari looks at where the secret door is - on the far side of a giant lava pool, up near the ceiling - and says "I suppose I should expect this sort of architecture where the locals can fly... Ohrmizd, I will need 15 minutes to prepare for this, don't go to far ahead scouting and get into trouble."
Omari will spend 15 minutes praying to fill his empty 4th level slot with Air Walk. Then he will cast it on Khedron, and ride Khedron above the lava pool and up the secret tunnel.
Foxy Quickpaw
(C10) It is a good thing everyone is flying as the tunnel is smoothly polished and almost impossible to climb up. It ends in a room that looks like a garbage storage. Stepping out of the tenn foot wide chute in the northeast corner you come into the room that is sloped towards this chute. A dim red glow emanates from a grate in the ceiling high overhead. You are surrounded by odd bits of debris. The room also has a door.
Omari the Landless
"There's something about this room that I don't like..." mutters Omari (it's the garbage compactor from star wars, so let's get out before we're compacted). Louder, he continues, "Ohrmizd, check the grate up top, what's that glow? I'll check the door." Suiting deed to word, Omari air-steps Khedron over to the door, and takes a careful look.

Ohrmizd manages to break the grate loose.
This dungeon crawl you go up, not down for a change. And it isn't linear, but has dead ends and surprising shortcuts. I don't know how the difficulty curve is realized with that, but you came from level B to C and would now move on directly to D if going through the grate.
