"May you find rest." Miyuku whispers, firing a shot with her handgun, her blade held in her other hand, hoping they could bring her down before it came to close-quarters combat.

The figure of a small child materializes next to Miren. Nace's shot goes wide, kicking up a small spray in the pond. Miyuku's shot hits, the bullet traveling through the revenant. It seems to those familiar with how ballistics weapons work that the bullet met little resistance in the dripping corpse. The corpse shambles towards them. A musty rancid smell hits their nostrils as the corpse gets closer

Miyuku Saito |

"More than one actually...not that it's going to help apparently." Miyuku quips, holstering her pistol and striding forward. "I'm going in." she says over her shoulder to her companions, her black wakizashi blade seeming to get darker if possible, drawing shadow into itself as she stalks forward, at the last moment, moving at remarkable speed in a low cross-cut.

Miren Goitia |

"We have to help Miyuku," Miren directs the phantom child.
As it becomes obvious Miyuku is going to engage in melee, Miren murmurs words of blessing and touches the dark warrior. A faintly shining barrier springs up about a foot away from Miyuku.
Casting protection from evil on Miyuku, 2 minutes (20 rounds). Phantom moves to flank with Miyuku. Miyuku gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures. The spell prevents bodily contact by evil summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not evil are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.
The transparent child moves forward with Muyuku, face distorted with terrible fear as she slaps at the undead body.

No Constitution score. Undead use their Charisma score in place of their Constitution score when calculating hit points, Fortitude saves, and any special ability that relies on Constitution (such as when calculating a breath weapon’s DC).
Darkvision 60 feet.
Immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms).
Immunity to death effects, disease, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.
Not subject to nonlethal damage, ability drain, or energy drain. Immune to damage to its physical ability scores (Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength), as well as to exhaustion and fatigue effects.
Cannot heal damage on its own if it has no Intelligence score, although it can be healed. Negative energy (such as an inflict spell) can heal undead creatures. The fast healing special quality works regardless of the creature’s Intelligence score.
Immunity to any effect that requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless).
Not at risk of death from massive damage, but is immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points.
Not affected by raise dead and reincarnate spells or abilities. Resurrection and true resurrection can affect undead creatures. These spells turn undead creatures back into the living creatures they were before becoming undead.
Proficient with its natural weapons, all simple weapons, and any weapons mentioned in its entry.
Proficient with whatever type of armor (light, medium, or heavy) it is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types. Undead not indicated as wearing armor are not proficient with armor. Undead are proficient with shields if they are proficient with any form of armor.
Undead do not breathe, eat, or sleep.
Per the spell magic jar: “Undead creatures are powered by negative energy. Only sentient undead creatures have, or are, souls.” This is an important sentence when considering any spells or effects which reference “souls.”

"Peachy. So how many of these things are we dealing with here? Also, who's Nathan? And what's with the black slime?"
The ghost wavers a bit
“I don’t know the answers except about Nathan. Nathan was a farmer. He owned this part of the pond. Nathan Blume. His grandfather was Adam Blume, the man they named the pond after. The wendigo rode him. The wendigo, once they grow become spirits of hunger. They need humans to ride to commit their crimes. I don’t think there are many, because it is a long violent process to become one and I don’t think they like competition all that much”

Flicking any clinging goo from her weapon, Miyuku takes a pair of nitrile gloves from a pocket, slipping one on, and bending to pick up the ring. "I'm assuming this is what...tethered her here?" she asks looking at Coyote.

Coyote Jones |

Coyote turns to the ghost, but she is already fading
“Thank you. Ware my husband’s corpse…”
With that, Sarah’s spirit heads to her rest
"Vaya con dios, kid."
Coyote gives a liesurely salute, then sighs and lights another cigarette as he makes his way over to where the others are standing.
"Total disintegration, that's new. Guess I don't have to skip town this time. Just a heads-up, I'm pretty sure there's at least one more of those things out there."

He shrugs, taking a drag from his smoke.
"F++@ed if I know. I mean, I can take a look, but all I can say right now is that if that ring has "SENICIANE VIVAS IN DEO" written on it, I'm gonna lose my s%$&. By the way, does the name Nathan Blume mean anything to you?"

Nace Bishop |

"Not until she said it," Nace says as he wipes his antique cavalry sword on some leaves. "That could be the ring we're looking for."
He looks at the cabins. "We might have company. Maybe I could talk us out of it. Maybe better if we just move out quickly."

Nace looks out over the water. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Coyote gets a much different ‘read’ from this undead. There is no real spark of intelligence, just a low cunning. Thoughts of red blood and masticated flesh fill its pond-sodden brain. An overwhelming hunger drifts off the creature. This guy seems more feral, more like a zombie, but one with a slight hint of sentient thought
