I think camping is better.
Taman Hornraven |
camp
Xilt Sphinx |
"I see no sense in going in there half exhausted. What ever is waiting there for us can wait until tomorrow morning."
My character is a proponent of the speed of plot.
Taman Hornraven |
"I agree with Xilt! We should rest."
Izlin Greymantle{Toku Kara Shi} |
Continuing to take shallow breaths, "Given the corruption I feel coursing through me, I want to get back to a priest as soon as possible. The sooner we finish this little outing, the faster I can receive religious intervention."
GM Jhaeman |
The strange woman with bat and elven features sleeps soundly all night long, but as soon as the sun gets up, she hops to her feet and seems anxious to keep moving. Another two hours' walk brings you to the base of a large hill, and you notice pale smoke wafting into the air behind it! Going around the hill, you see a devastated landscape.
A great furrow has been carved through the hills here, creating a brand-new valley amid the peaks. The ground is blasted and scorched, and the trees surrounding the area are charred and burnt leafless. But the furrow only somewhat resembles a crater—-for the huge object embedded at its center obviously struck the ground at an angle.
The object resembles nothing so much as a streamlined arrowhead of stone and strange crystal. A huge crack along the object’s southern side allows brief glimpses into the dark interior, revealing the thing to be hollow. Now and then, crystals along the object’s length sparkle and sizzle, sending up a faint plume of strange green smoke.
Dozens of large vultures perch atop the object or lurk in the burnt branches of the surrounding trees—-the birds are strangely silent and watchful, as if they know death is imminent in the area.
Assume you're about 200 feet away from the strange crashed object.
Izlin Greymantle{Toku Kara Shi} |
Quick question. Did I make/pass the saves against the negative levels, or am I still under their effect?
Dawa Kookpa |
Sorry for the posting delay - a little busy at the moment. Dawa casts his usual long buffs at the start of the day: Ant Haul & Defending Bone.
Tachonius |
Been busy with PaizoCon stuff. Catching up.
Once we are near the strange object, Tachonius will cast is usual spells.
Heightened Awareness, Discovery Torch, Heroism.
Almaas Kargar |
Almaas asks Xilt to use his mage armor wand on him.
He casts ‘see invisibility’ on himself and starts waking forward to the crash site.
perception : 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (1) + 18 = 19
Xilt Sphinx |
Before retiring for the night Xilt fortifies himself with unholy energy (False Life, Extended).
False Life,Arcane Point spent, Extended: 1d10 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
As requested he helps Almaas with his wand of Mage Armor.
He then fortifies himself with Mage Armor and targets Tzleztor with another incantation of that spell after recharging his arcane energy with a pearl of power. He puts up Message on the party and casts Heroism (Extended) and Ablative Barrier on himself.
He carries his rod of Intensify in his left hand and shrugs speaking mostly to himself.
"You never know."
"Now I am ready or as ready as I will ever be."
Tzleztor |
"Hardly, but still you remembered the Mage Armor so you are slightly less distracted this time around."
Tzleztor flits about only mildly critical of his master. He draws forth his captured wand of magic missile with a look of appreciation.

Taman Hornraven |
GM can you please put altitude next to each Vultures on the map? Tnx
GM Jhaeman |
Almaas lets fly a trio of arrows, and two of them strike one of the giant vultures to deadly effect! It plummets to the ground in a sickening thump.
Although the nat 1 missed, of course, the other two arrows were enough to drop Yellow.
Regarding heights, please assume Red is on top of the ship (which is 20' high). We'll say the other giant vultures are circling 10' further up, so they're 30' off the ground.
We've got Taman and Tachonious up.
Taman Hornraven |
Taman takes out his shortbow and tries to shoot the red one.

Tachonius tries to determine the intent of the bat-elf.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (12) + 23 = 35
If he doesn't sense that she is likely to betray them or to run, he takes his falcata and cuts her bonds.
GM Jhaeman |
Taman sends an arrow flying into the breast of a wounded vulture, while Tachonious cuts the bonds on the bat-elf.
The vultures swoop down out of the sky to attack! Dawa's animal companion leaps with a perfectly timed jump and crashes into one of the vultures, but the other two attack Tachonious and Taman.
The three vultures are doing flying charge attacks. Dawa's animal companion's readied action hits Blue and succeeds on the free grapple attempt. Blue is grappled. Tachonious, K'nai, and Taman each get hit.
Tachonious takes 19 points of damage, K'nai takes 18 points, and Taman takes 15 points.

Ill Omen (mind-affecting, no save) - it has to roll twice and take the worse result on its next two d20 rolls.

Dawa Kookpa |
K'nai has SR 13, so unfortunately I think that elf-bat has to make a caster level check to see if her healing went through.
Xilt Sphinx |
Xilt recovers his spells with two pearls of power.
"So, now that we have cleared out the local wildlife should we explore this strange ruin?"
Almaas Kargar |
Almaas nods.
"Yes, let's go!"
Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (11) + 18 = 29
Taman Hornraven |
"I am ready!"
Dawa Kookpa |
Yes, I also forgot about his SR when I cast Divine Favor on him. I've had different GM rulings on the question of whether or not his SR applies when Dawa is doing the casting. What's your view?
Dawa and K'nai look around to see whether the Vultures were guarding anything or were simply hungry predators.
