Almaas takes: scroll (invisibility), 1 potion of cure moderate wounds, efficient quiver.
Dawa Kookpa

| 1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Realizing that the orbs are part of some magic even larger sets Dawa to trembling with excitement and anticipation. "What if these are actually parts of the moon itself!?! It seems certain that they must be... And it all starts to make sense now - whatever this 'heavenly visitor' seemed to be, it was actually the divine moon making an appearance herself! We must all tremble with awe..."
Almaas Kargar
|
Almaas raises an eyebrow.
“ Well, I have to admit that I have very little understanding of the influence of the stars or the moon on us so I have to trust in the judgment of those more experienced than I! I just would advise to not jump to conclusions which might be too far reaching! We have to protect our community and sending the right message is important!“ he advises like preacher.
Xilt Sphinx
|
Xilt smirks at Dawa attempt at reasoning but does not comment as he realizes that it is pointless.
He collects the books, the orbs and the remainder of the magical items. He watches with fascination as his Handy Haversack sucks down the items.
"That never gets old."
"If anyone needs something please let me know. Someone else be a dear and gather up the rest of the gear."
Izlin Greymantle{Toku Kara Shi}
|
Izlin slides one of the black wands into his belt, followed by the glass wand. "The 'heavens' are fairly large. Almaas is correct, let's not go making assumptions just yet."
| Tzleztor |
Tzleztor grabs a black wand and wears the Gold Amulet.
"Master what is the command word for the wand? Fluffy Bunny? Ok."
Xilt Sphinx
|
Xilt looks around ensuring that no treasure is left behind. He is a proud member of the Exchange after all. He grudgingly suggests that they move on when people are ready.
"I guess I can wait to examine the books and orbs latter."
Taman Hornraven
|
Taman looks at the things they have found "I don't wanna any of those stuff."
| GM Jhaeman |
The Pathfinders continue their exploration of the mine, this time choosing the northeast fork of the branching tunnels. As they advance, the temperature drops suddenly as a clammy breeze wafts up from a chamber ahead.
A pair of translucent, ghostly figures, their faces twisted with wrath, are here and instantly move to attack!
On your turn, (assuming you have line of sight) you can attempt to identify the creatures.

With a modicum of pity in his voice, "Specters huh? You boys deserve some rest, and maybe a bit of mercy. How 'bout we release you from this realm so you can finally move on?" With out waiting for an answer, the magus pulls a dagger from the back of his belt. As he draws it, the cavern near him becomes brighter as the illuminated blade softly glows.
"I picked this up for an occasion such as the one we all find ourselves in. I'll try to make this as painless as possible." Activating the magic held within the fire-blackened hopeknife causes the blade's glow to grow in intensity. Soon, the tiefling is holding a small piece of the sun. He proceeds to enchant the blade with arcing energy and then throws for all he is worth.
Brinya's Love vs BLACK: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Using Brinya's Love which 'on command' provides the blade the Ghost touch property AND it glows as if Daylight had been cast.
| GM Jhaeman |
Izlin's hurled dagger connects with the nearest spectre and tears away several tendrils of ectoplasm! The spectre howls in rage and then both ghostly creatures rush to attack the tiefling. The merest touch from each seems to draw the very life-force from the Pathfinder, and in turn augment their own forms!
Izlin's ghost touch weapon does full damage to the Black spectre. Alas, only true natural sunlight is able to disperse a spectre (not the daylight spell).
Black advances and tries to touch Izlin, and Yellow flies until it's in the 5' square (cube) directly above Black and tries to touch him as well. Both attacks hit.
Izlin, you take 14 points of damage. More importantly, you now have 4 temporary negative levels. In sum, these negative levels reduce your current and maximum hit points by 20, and gives you a -4 penalty on all ability checks, attack rolls, combat maneuver checks, CMD, saving throws, and skills checks. In regards to spellcasting, you are treated as four levels lower for all level-dependent variables of the spell. If you don't get rid of these temporary negative levels within 24 hours, there's a chance they'll become permanent.
Black Touch Attack vs Izlin: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Yellow Touch Attack (w/ higher ground) vs Izlin: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

The blade returns to its place on his belt. The tiefling fails to suppress a cough. Pulling his hand away from his mouth, he sees it is covered in blood. "Great! Perfect day. This is why you were trained not to run into rooms like some kind of eager moron. Dad would kill me, or just let me die. Crios would have said 'I told you so' and laughed a little."
| GM Jhaeman |
Tachonious stabs the spectre from underneath, while Izlin's hurled knife tears through the undead again. Blinded from Dawa's spell, the wrathful mockery of life tries to strike back, but it's spectral claws slash only empty air!
The spectre is going to target randomly either the square where it knew Izlin *was* or the square where Tachonious is now.
Bad luck for the spectre.

Together, Taman and Tachonious destroy the last spectre! With a final frightful moan, it dissipates into nothingness.
We are off Initiative.
A quick search of the area leads to a gruesome discovery. At one end of the tunnel, a pair of bodies are slumped; they each feature hideous mutations and wounds consistent with horrific torture.
Xilt Sphinx
|
Xilt recovers his spell with a pearl of power before putting it away.
He takes one of the wand of Magic Missiles from Tzleztor and puts in a pocket in easy reach.
"Interesting creatures and now this."
Xilt checks the bodies for magic (Detect Magic).
Almaas Kargar
|
“That was much faster than I thought!“ he says and walks into the cavern he could not see earlier.
He casts detect magic and scan the area.
He also searches the place.

“What do you think? Is it time to wake up the Elven bat lady?“ he asks the team.
Xilt Sphinx
|
Xilt rubs his head and shrugs while replying sheepishly.
"I forgot about her completely but if you intend to bring her back to town perhaps it is easier if she is not conscious. Good job finding the gem. It was well hidden."
| Tzleztor |
The Mephit grins at the opportunity for more kidnapping shenanigans.
"Another cursed creature that the party is going to rescue? I am curious to see if the town guard will be more alert this time. Nah, probably not. It is hard getting good help these days."
Almaas Kargar
|
Almaas nods at the mephit.
”We will do it here. Please do not be intimidating!“
He uses his smelling salt to wake the Elven Bat.
”Please stay calm! I don’t know if you understand us. But if you do please be aware that we are here to help the communities that are affected by this phenomenon that fell from the sky! We know that many are looking for it. Evil people too! Do you have any suggestions on how we could proceed to find out what is going on?!“ he asks.
diplomacy : 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (16) + 20 = 36
Almaas Kargar
|
Almaas is not surprised.
”Maybe we can create some form of understanding. Look, do any of these things belong to you?!“ ha asks.
He shows her the large sapphire he found in the boot. Then he asks Taman to escort her to the room where he accidentally started a battle. He shows her unconscious bodies of the humans and the things they carried.
”We really would return your gear to you!“
Dawa Kookpa
|
Dawa looks on at the efforts to help the crazed bat-lady with sympathy. "The moon can only give its blessings when it so chooses. Perhaps we should leave her in an open field for a month so that she may perceive the waxing and waning mysteries? I always find it most illuminating."
Taman Hornraven
|
"What!?"
Almaas Kargar
|
Almaas shrugs.
”I have really no idea what she is saying!“
Xilt Sphinx
|
"Right. She is speaking about the orbs. She claims that she can lead us somewhere. I can try to talk to her."
He turns to the Bat-Woman and begins speaking in an ancient tongue.
Xilt Sphinx
|
Xilt shrugs knowing that a possible trap or ambush is likely to result in more treasure found.
"She wants us to follow her. We are done here anyways so I suggest that we let her lead us to her destination."
He looks to the others. He waits for the others to be ready to leave.
Taman Hornraven
|
Taman follows.
Tachonius
|
Tachonius nods and follows, but keeps his falcata in hand.
Izlin Greymantle{Toku Kara Shi}
|
She's still has her hands tied, correct? If not, Izlin will insist on that.
| GM Jhaeman |
The strange woman leads the party out of the mine, gesticulating often with her bound hands and repeating a sing-song in Aklo. She sets off south through the hills, following no noticeable trail. It's rough and rugged walking. After about four hours, there's still plenty of daylight but you're starting to get tired. She seems eager to continue, however.
Because it took you four hours to get to the mine, another four hours of walking with the bat-elf puts you at 8 hours. You left Dustpawn at dawn, so there's still a few hours of daylight left, but if you continue walking I would need saves to avoid nonlethal damage and fatigue from forced marching. The alternative would be to camp and continue in the morning. How would you like to proceed?
