Stalking Bull |
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Stalking Bull peers into the room with the dusty sofa, but quickly decides that a lot of broken furniture isn't worth his time. Seeing as Frenix and Avulstein are taking care of the next room, Stalking Bull moves across the hall to the north side of the building. "Nothing here. I will check that wing."
Moving to B4. Still need to find an action worth performing this round.

B4: Offices
Dirty rugs, shattered desks, and smashed-in doors are what
remains of these small offices. Papers and long-dried inkwells
are scattered among the detritus. Heavy claw marks and deep rips mar a corpse sprawled and partially covered by the broken desk in the northwest corner. The desiccated flesh of zombies litters the floor around it. Scraps of cloth hang tattered around its mangled hands, which even now are locked into fists.

This room is lined with bookshelves and sitting mats. Two smaller rooms branch from the main hallway, serving as private study nooks.

B9: Dean's Quarters
The double door to this suite has been knocked off its hinges and shattered, leaving the exit open to the hallway outside. A broken four-post bed stands against the eastern wall. A circular table and an accompanying chair occupy a nook in the southwest. A large statue depicting a marble chariot wheel sporting flames of gold occupies the northeast corner.
The ceiling here is visibly sagging, and liable to collapse.
Reinforce Ceiling (Crafting)
Recover Statue (no check required, but the statue is 16 bulk and will require as much carrying capacity as that between multiple people. One PC attempting it must also make an Athletics check to get it on the cart without damaging either the statue or the cart, with any helpers able to Aid. It is also strongly recommended that you don't attempt this before reinforcing the ceiling)
B10: Dormitories
No description.
Search Dormitories (no check required).
Current tasks for this round:
Frenix: Searching the Classroom
Avulstein: Searching the Classroom
Stopwatch of Doom: 80 minutes
Stalking Bull |
Stalking Bull spots the mangled corpse as he enters the offices. (B4) He lifts the broken desk to free the body as he calls back to his colleagues. "I found one here. Dead already like the others. Zombies..." The scraps of cloth seem to him the best possible clue to the identity of the person and he kneels down to inspect them.
Craft to investigate the cloth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
GM Ferret |
Tsubodai, Avulstein and Frenix: You don't find anything of value despite your extensive search.
Sparky: The well is surprisingly intact, and the bucket, despite sitting on the rim, is damp, suggesting it's been used recently.
Stalking Bull: You recognize the tattered cloth as handwraps, often used by brawlers and other martial artists.
Stopwatch of Doom: 90 minutes
Stalking Bull |
Stalking Bull shares his findings with Tsubodai, when the half-orc enters the room. "This might be another Pathfinder," he says as he consults the dossiers. "Maybe Bryrigar Hassen, gladiator." To confirm his suspicion, Stalking Bull checks the mangled body to see whether it was indeed a half-orc. Ears might be gone. Large teeth should still be there.
B4, check body with medicine: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
GM Ferret |
Sparky: All that comes up is normal, albeit somewhat stagnant, water.
Tsubodai: Behind the collapsed cabinet against the northern wall, you find a glinting amulet that seems to have magical properties, and a Wayfinder bearing the name "Byrrigar Hassen" inscribed on the inside.
Stalking Bull: You turn over the body, revealing them to have broken off tusk stumps that identify them as a half-orc. Based on the tearing on the flesh of their knuckles, whoever they are literally went down punching.
Frenix: Sifting through the dormitories you find a drawer filled with dusty jewelry worth some Treasure Bundles and a dirty vial of holy water.
Avulstein: With your knowledge of construction you're able to reinforce the ceiling very well. It still sags but is unlikely to break.
Stalking Bull |
Stalking Bull picks up the brawler's body and lays it down in the cart for transport. "Went down fighting. Proud way to go." He then heads up the stairs when Tsubodai calls for help. "It's a pretty statue. If you think it's worth taking? Let's do this."
Religion for B9 spoiler: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Between the two of them, Tsubodai and Stalking Bull have 18 carrying capacity, enough to move the statue. I have a +10 Athletics, but an Aid would be appreciated.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
--
I think Tsubodai made the Perception check for the B5 spoiler to hear noises there. But we haven't followed up on that as a group?
GM Ferret |
Checking on the voice doesn't take time so since rolls are being made I'm gonna need the statue resolved first. Tsubodai critically failed his Aid check, so Stalking Bull, you'll take a -1 penalty.
Tasks Remaining
Investigate Porch Body's Clothing (Religion)
Investigate Paintings In The Main Hall (Society)
Search Study Area (No check)
Avulstein of Irrisen |
Hmm... something is nagging me about those robes. I'll have a closer look.
Avulstein returns to the robed corpse and ponders the insignias there.

Stalking Bull |
Checking on the voice doesn't take time so since rolls are being made I'm gonna need the statue resolved first. Tsubodai critically failed his Aid check, so Stalking Bull, you'll take a -1 penalty.
OK, let's hope my roll was good enough in that case.
Frenix Sternlix |
With it being just a simple check, could we bot him for the Society check since he is at a +7, so we can move on?
GM Ferret |
Tsubodai and Stalking Bull together are able to easily get the statue out to the cart, but while trying to get it on, Tsubodai fumbles his grip, causing it to slip and land on Stalking Bull's thumb. He, too, releases the statue in pain, and the statue topples far too quickly into the cart. You hear a loud crack as the axle beneath the cart snaps.
New Activity
Repair the cart... again (Crafting)
While searching through the study area, Frenix finds a well worn but well preserved antique copy of The Acts of Iomedae.
Sparky doesn't know anything about the paintings, while Avulstein knows nothing about the robes.
Stopwatch of Doom: 110 Minutes
Stalking Bull |
Stalking Bull curses in Shoanti as the statue drops from their grasp. He catches himself and shuts up promptly, looking over his shoulder in the distance. "We have to keep moving. Quickly, see if we can save the cart."
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
He tries his best to help patch up the cart, but his hand still feels numb from where the statue landed on it.
Avulstein of Irrisen |
Let's just bring this robed body and anything else we can't figure out with us. We have the cart. Somebody else in the Society should know more.
Avulstein respectfully moves the body to the cart.
I can keep failing trying to recall these robes all day but that doesn't make for a fun time. Likewise the paintings. Let's just grab them and go.
GM Ferret |
Sparky Society: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Sparky does a quick pass of the paintings and realizes only one is of any historic value; a portrait of the former dean of Goldenflame College.
Tsubodai Religion: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
As you convene in the main hall to go over your final matters and prepare to leave, mindful of your distinct lack of time, the doors burst open quite suddenly. Four zombies shamble in as a group, all looking fresher than the ones you fought earlier (if only just), with an armored skeleton and a human man at their back. "Oh good, you're still here," he snickers. "For a moment I was worried I might have to hurry to catch you fumbling oafs."
Avulstein: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

GM Ferret |
Whoops. I use real dice for attack and damage rolls, but I forgot to post the damage. Sparky took 6.
Sparky's alchemist's fire shatters against the zombie, burning it lightly.
Ralthiss casts a spell, creating a dark, shimmering aura in his immediate vicinity. It's bane, DC 20 Will save if you come within 5' of him or you take a -1 status penalty to attack rolls while in the aura. He then casts a quick additional spell that seems to invigorate his skeletal champion.
