What is up team!

![]() |

Is that new hero point in addition to what we already have?
Also, HELLO!

![]() |

earn income: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

![]() |

(FYI - Inzo has played a scenario in between port peril and this one, same level and everything, but when you see he has more GP/XP than just before that's why)

![]() |

Ah yes. 1 Hero Point to start.
I don't think I've ever received an awarded Hero Point during a scenario. I should make it a goal to get one.
Day Job (Lore Absalom) Roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Orla will slot the Traveler of the Spirit Road general boon, as well as the Legacy of the Gorget general boon and the Engraved Wayfinder slotless boon. She will take a lesser antidote and a lesser eagle's eye elixir as her school items.

![]() |

Also, before I forget, the online venture-officers have informed me that the official ruling is that you can only use Craft, Lore, Performance for day job rolls.
Ah, my new roll is earn income: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11

![]() |

Earn income: Craft: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
He will buy two potions of minor healing potion
Where do I find what boons I might be able to take?

![]() |

I wonder if the Golarion version of "The Boys are back in town" would be the humanoids are back in town?
Performance: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Good thing what I used before and performance have the same bonus

Your chronicle sheets have boons. There are also your faction boons at the Pathfinder Society Guide.

Thanks!

We're missing Bert (ubiquitous). I'll try contacting him to see if he's joining us.
Gabros, I'll need you to fill out the sign-up sheet, please.
I know him RL so I'll send him a ping.

Orla would like to have purchased a lesser silver-tongued mutagen (4gp) in Absalom once she learned of traveling to parlay with pirates.
Thanks, GM.

![]() |

I'm here! Sorry, had a busy couple of days and didn't realise the new quest's campaign page was already up. Will get my starting gold+purchases sorted out later today.
Day Job: Lore (Labor): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

Orla has re-jiggered her prepared spells. I've noted those and my new purchase (and faction items) in my profile.

Thank you, Orla. I'll probably check those when we hit combat, and with a quest titled Pub Crawl, it's a guarantee.
I don't know if it's me or if it's the quests themselves, but they sure have a lot of ships, because if we ever do The Burden of Envy, that also starts off on a ship.

As does Bandits of Immenwood.
Two factions having exploration themed goals (Horizon Hunters + Grand Archive), combined with year one of PFS aiming to demonstrate the variety in the Pathfinder setting, it just adds up

I am here! Sorry I thought that I didn't need to roll based on your explanation. I'll make a lore post anyways in a sec

I can understand how that could have been confusing now that I went back to my post; the reason I was waiting for you was because everyone was RPing jumping in the water, but yes, you wouldn't have needed to make the roll.

![]() |

All good - in the end more communication is better. Next time don't feel you have to wait, I'll do a retrospective note if I wanted to RP splashing around in the water :)

Not that it makes much difference given the rolls, but there aren't opposed checks in pf2, so you wouldn't roll perception to see. The stealth would be against a static perception dc of 10+ bonus of all the party members.
I found this out by doing opposed checks in fall of plaguestone, it's definitely unexpected to see them gone.

Yup, it's Thievery vs Perception DC; however, the bottle is not of negligible bulk (-2) and is not in a bag as far as we know(-5). So even with the penalties, the thievery is a success, not only because of the roll, but also it was a natural twenty.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

That apparent benefit of the successful save doesn’t make sense. (...) Could you clarify that wonky wording please?
I disagree, Orla. That was not wonky at all. That was just plainly bad, lazy text redaction on my part. Hopefully, the newly redacted version fixes any confusion it might have caused.

If you have an Android phone, you could use Pathbuilder 2e. It's free and allows you to plan your character and even print out the sheet
I just tried it last night, and man was that easy. I quickly made a wizard to try out the program and the only thing it did not do was print the spells that was in the spell book. but I could run the character spells and all from a tablet if at a table top.
Thank you again for the info.
GM Deneve |

Really? After exporting to PDF? Did you slot the spells? Just asking because when I printed out my cleric I had all my spells printed on my spellbook.
Or it could be because I have the paid version?
Before I forget, don't forget you can add custom feats and skills. This is specially useful for the school benefits you get from PFS.

![]() |

Yes, had all the spells set up on the app but when I exported it none of the spells showed up. The equipment was there and everything else showed up including the two spells from my background -what ever it's called, don't have my phone on me to check the real name-
But once I had the PDF sheet. I could type in the spell names.
It's still a great program to have.

![]() |

I figured it out. I needed to highlight the book icon on each spell for it to be in my spell book. Now it works perfectly.

![]() |

One of the very clever people in my f2f group made an awesome reference app for spells and some other useful info
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fyjham_ts.pathfinder_2e_s pell_db
The apple store is apparently challenging but for iPhone there's a website which will automatically become available offline.

![]() |

I already have that app!

GM Deneve |

As the following isn't a secret, I'll just say it right out.
Okay, here's how it's going to play out. As I posted previously, the rigging the contest is considered an Aid action, so someone still has to roll for the Occultism/Fortune Telling Lore check (both which can be done untrained).
Your Deception roll in the Gameplay thread is a success as it overcomes all their Perception DC, so I'm ruling as if you give your yourself or an ally a +2 circumstantial bonus to the Occultism/Fortune Telling Lore check.

![]() |

I’ll award the bonus to an ally. Then, I’ll spend the rest of the contest spooking the tengu (and hopefully amusing Captain Fane, who I’ll let in on the prank).
Once it comes to my turn to guess (based on my Occultism check bonus, which is 0), then I’ll try again to use ventriloquism to rig the guess.

![]() |

Orla has more up her sleeves. Hee hee.

GM Deneve |

No need to apologise, Fox--Pantom. You're all posting at least once a day which was the agreement. It's just that I've been spoiled with you guys posting twice or thrice a day that going back to once a day posting feels slow. Which is why I'm wondering if the slowdown is due to real life or if it's because you all feel the story is going at a slower pace.
To be honest, I'm just hoping Bejita is all right.

Rivanti's Bar Brawl
The bar brawl instead of being treated as a large swarm is considered a Hazard divided into six sections. You can Strike a section for damage, which RP-wise would be having your character jump into the fray or you can try to Intimidate a section to cow it into good behaviour or you could try to use Diplomacy to disperse the crowd. Pacifying a section prevents its regular attack from happening, but not its special attack.
Any nonpacified section is considered difficult terrain.
Difficult Terrain Reminder
Difficult terrain is any terrain that impedes your movement, ranging from particularly rough or unstable surfaces to thick ground cover and countless other impediments. Moving into a square of difficult terrain (or moving 5 feet into or within an area of difficult terrain, if you’re not using a grid) costs an extra 5 feet of movement. Moving into a square of greater difficult terrain instead costs 10 additional feet of movement. This additional cost is not increased when moving diagonally. You can’t Step into difficult terrain.
Movement you make while you are jumping ignores the terrain you’re jumping over. Some abilities (such as flight or being incorporeal) allow you to avoid the movement reduction from some types of difficult terrain. Certain other abilities let you ignore difficult terrain on foot; such an ability also allows you to move through greater difficult terrain at the normal movement cost as for difficult terrain, though it wouldn’t let you ignore greater difficult terrain unless the ability specifies otherwise.
Lethal Bar Fights
Even in a place as rough and tumble as Port Peril, bar fights are rarely to the death, with most combatants just looking to get a few good licks in or knock out their opponents rather than drive up a body count.
Feel free to use nonlethal damage (-2 to atk rolls), improvised weapons (-2 to atk rolls), improvised cover (bonus to AC), etc.

![]() |

What’s the goal? Defeat all six sections? Get out of the bar?
