Placed Icon. And yes, D22 sounds like the most logical way to go
Malgrim Gryh
Malgrim walks up to the door next to Amaimon and looks for trouble.
Take 10 on perception for a 36. I listen for anything on the other side and search for traps.
Amaimon, the squares are 10 ft, so I moved you over and made room for Malgrim to be by the door. If you wish to move forward before I search, Malgrim is fine with that.
miteke
D23: These chambers hold dozens of luxurious beds and are adorned with all manner of fine wall hangings, chandeliers, small art objects, and other décor. Searching through these seemingly heavenly surroundings reveal the dismembered remains of a dozen female humanoid slaves of various mortal races. These were the odalisques—harem slaves—that served the harem girls who were brutally garroted. The two areas marked D23a are unremarkable privies, while D23b is a sauna filled with thick mist, as if by an obscuring mist spell. Before you can search the area, your old buddy Bagoas (the Qilzar Agha) pays you a visit. Sure is a persistent guy. Combat ensues so please place your icons where they should be in D23. Once everyone is in the room, we will begin combat which occurs 30 seconds after you first open the door so any of your short duration spells will have expired by then.
Amaimon Emberheart
If Aimamon felt any emotions towards his fellow slaves who had been slaughtered, he did not show it. Instead, the Azer surveyed the room with a clinical eye. Likewise, when Bagoas appeared, the only indication that the Azer had towards his presence was to raise his hammer in preparation for defending himself.
Current Buffs (Greater Magic Weapon, Freedom of Movement, Certain Grip)
Malgrim Gryh
Malgrim enters the area and glowers at the reappearance of Bagoas.
Marcus Nocturnus
Marcus takes up the rear and looks about when the ghost is noticed. "He didn't seem too friendly the first time I saw him. Has anyone seen his body? Perhaps we could put it to rest." Marcus says prepared to hurl arrows at the ghost.
miteke
He does seem a bit grumpy. And persistent. You spot him about 50' away from you and he is moving towards you at a pretty fast clip, flying and all like he does.

Perhaps selfishly, Vonna keeps one of her teammates between her and the enemy, taking a step if she must.
With subtle hand movements and softly spoken incantation, a large serrated knife forms of blackness displaying the twinkling of stars within.
The newly formed weapon moves independently.
Casting Twilight Knife.
miteke
After the knife forms, the ghostly undead makes its move and fly's right up to Vonna and attacks and then zips up towards the ceiling. Vonna is able to take an AoO, but the creature is unbelievably maneuverable and spins in the air without crossing anyone else's path.

Yes, another awesome roll and more wall art from our favorite painter of mud. Malgrim has a gift. Note that inspire courage DOES give damage to spells as long as they involve a to-hit roll. It would not boost magic missile, for example, but it would boost acid arrow or, in this case, your attack. A pity it missed :(

Your previous mind over gravity is still/already active. It did not pass by you close enough to trigger an AoO from you, but you could fly up and attack so I will treat your AoO as an attack.

Twilight Knife gets +2 if flanking. Unless you specifically will it to do otherwise, or it proves impossible to do so, the knife always maneuvers itself so that it can flank your opponent before making the attack.
Vonna the Huntress
With an AC of 22, the twilight knife is the only thing to hit! Fortunately it is not shaken like Vonna is.
@Vonna
What did you do during your turn? The creature is 15' up so you cannot reach it from where you are if you are on the ground.
First attack is AoO. Assuming if they hit her, she could reach them.
For the "round" she moved 5-10 feet to the left (on map) into 10 ft range (based on others' positions). Second attack occurred then.| miteke |
It has flyby attack, which means it can hit you in the middle of a move. So it actually ended it's turn out of reach. Unless you are under it or under it and none to the side, you cannot hit it because it is 15' up (equivalent to 2 squares away if right under it). Basically you have to be 2 squares north of where you are. Shall I just make it so? I don't think you are too finicky about where your character ends up, as long as you can attack, right?
Vonna the Huntress
I don't think you are too finicky about where your character ends up, as long as you can attack, right?
Make it so! You are right. I must have misunderstood the 10' & 15' markings on the map.
lf I don't attack, the Twilight Knife won't either. And we need that flank & sneak.
miteke
OK. It took me a bit to get back to this as I was at a con Friday and Saturday and barely had time to sleep. Vonnas twilight knife strikes and scores a hit. She maneuvers just close enough to get a swing off at the ghostly creature but misses. Her knife takes another shot at it

dmg, twilight knife, force: 1d4 ⇒ 4
sneak, force: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 1) = 8
It hits from its vantage above the dwarf and scores another nice shot.

The twilight knife would be unaffected by the performance. It is quite mindless and works similarly to a spiritual weapon. Even with a +2 his normal attacks fell short.

"I advise you to cease your aggression." Aimamon said to the spectre, even as he unleashed a flurry of attacks with his hammer. The runes glowed and his attacks moved in tune with Marcus' song. Though unmoved by melody, he could feel the arcane underpinnings, and he could see how effective it was to 'ride the wave' so to speak. Each fall of his hammer caused an *impact* as if though the ghost were solid. The Azer's face remained impassive, even as he bludgeoned it out of existence.

@Vonna
Vonna, again, you can reach it with your reach weapon if you are on the ground under it or next to it but not on a diagonal. This will be true of any creature that is 15' up in the air since the bottom of their feet is 10' up from the top of your head. You also get an AoO as it flies away and I'll add that to the combat card. But you did not roll a spell resistance I just noticed, So I will do that for you.

Check out the map. It did a flyby attack and is outside the room right now. You will not get a flank, but you may pursue it and get an attack and you also get an AoO so I'll use the first two attacks and move your icon.

If the time it took to re-summon in the past is any indication there is no bloody way you are going to be able to search the room before the thing pops up again. Each 10x10 area is a move action and there are a LOT of 10x10 squares in D23. Heck, you just might make it out of D18 before it came back, but it would not be for certain.
