This room contains two large cages, their bars decorated to appear as tree trunks. Each cage has a large door that hangs open. Vines hang from the ceiling, and thick leaves cover the floor. There isn't enough light in here to see what's inside...
The cage right near you holds a pair of sabre-toothed tigers. They're in pouncing position. They see you looking at them, yet that's not enough to make them pounce. Clearly they're trained. You still can't see if there's anything in the nrothern cage.

"Can anyone shed some light in here?" Charlie blinks his eyes trying to let them adjust to the darkness.

"Absolutely. One second."
Dendillion walks over to Charlie, then strums a C chord on his magical lute. A mote of white light exits the sound hole and glides through the air, only to stop a few inches above Charlie's head. And then the mote brightens, casting its illumination far into the space.
Cast Light. At 4th level it has a radius of 60 ft, with the subsequent 60 ft being dim light. The light is attached to Charlie.
