Backstory:
Haldan is a slender halfling with sea-green hair and eyes, as well as an assortment of cheap but tidy three-piece suits. He has a thirst for knowledge and attacks this thirst obsessively sometimes. He believes in a secret society of stage magicians called “The 52,” despite no factual basis for this belief. One day he’d like to be admitted as one of The. 52 members. He is very superstitious and collects charms and tattoos to ward off “bad juju.” He is always working on his craft. Shuffling cards, sleight of hand tricks, throwing cards into his top hat. You can even hear him working on his act when he talks in his sleep. Since joining the circus, he has developed feelings for Elizia.

Leaving prison after time served, Haldan is looking to put his life back together. He knows he would not be allowed back in the Acadamae, but still wants to advance in what he started when he picked up his uncle’s spell book. He was not quite an adult at this time but he couldn’t go back home either as his parents ran respectable a business and he did not want to be a burden. So he decided to take to the road with no destination in mind.

He landed in Absalom where he would make a life on the streets. Begging at first but he eventually started to run card games like three card Monte to make a living. He got his life together and got off the streets. He vowed to never be back there. When the Celestial Menagerie came to town, he had to join. There he found two things: Elizia and the roar of the crowd. Both would grow to mean a lot to him. He would learn the business and perfect his craft by day, and study his spell book by night. With the exception of who was in charge, life was perfect. Which is why he was one of the first to sign up when a group was leaving.
