Chark quickly tacks to health Goliath. As the bear's wounds heal, Tiny delivers the filling blow to the final xulgath!
For defeating the quartet and their dinosaur guard, each hero earns 80 XP.
Mumbling Charlie
With the stinky dino's defeated Charlie rushes back to Goliath. "Pal, you g...g..gotta be more careful. You are g..g..going to get hurt."

"Asmodeus' fiery balls, why does everything have to lead to a fight these days?" Dendillion swears as he worriedly watches Charlie tend to his bear. "I'm a lover, not a fighter. This... these shenanigans were supposed to Thunder's problem. I just want to perform already. I swear, doing the right thing has never felt so bloody."
And with those words, Dendillion feels inspiration creep up. He sits down and begins composition of a new song.
Refocus. I'm assuming that we're going to take at least 10 minutes to heal folks.
Chark Torrefi
Yeah, Chark would have done a Battle Medicine on Goliath at least. But in any case, yes, let's take time to heal up.
First ten:
DC 15 Medicine to treat wounds w/Ward Medic (Dendillion): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
crit success
healing: 4d8 ⇒ (7, 3, 3, 2) = 15
DC 15 Medicine to treat wounds w/Ward Medic (Goliath): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 crit success
healing: 4d8 ⇒ (8, 1, 3, 2) = 14
Refocus during this time
Second ten:
DC 15 Medicine to treat wounds w/Ward Medic (Tiny): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
fail
DC 15 Medicine to treat wounds w/Ward Medic (Chark): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 success
healing: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
Can drop a heal if the consensus is to do so.
Dungeon Master S - 2e
Chark DID heal Goliath, but Bleed persists until fully healed unfortunately. Once the party is ready, feel free to post!
Mumbling Charlie
Charlie sits down for this time, running his fingers through Goliath's fur. Every few minutes making sure the wound isn't going to reopen as he packs it more and more.

Haldan Hadonstar
"If everyone is healed up, I would recommend heading north. But I have no basis for this."
Waiting for everyone to be fully healed, Haldan then heads north, looking for traps along the way.
South seems to have some rocks, is it blocked off?
Dungeon Master S - 2e
The party takes a solid 20 minutes before leaving the odoriferous room. Haldan looks to the short columns to the south. They remind him of things in cities which are designed to prevent wagons from crossing. The humans could easily just vault over them...
While the party takes a few to get their focus back, there is the frequent sound of some kind of animal activity in the north, but nothing ever comes this way. Charlie, as party scout stays by the northern exit, but sees nothing in the dim corridor.
Once ready, Haldan heads north into the next room. This odd-shaped room is divided by several piles of stacked stones, each stack about four feet tall. Large nests made of sticks and mud are spread around the room on both sides of the stone stacks. The northwestern corner of the room contains a large hut made of poorly tanned hides and topped with the skull of some enormous fanged beast. The eye-watering smell of xulgaths, animal dung, and unwashed reptiles fills this room.
The only signs of life here are a pair of small quadraped dinosaurs. Thick bony plates armor the domelike back of these dinosaur, its powerfully muscled tail ending in a bony club. Each is the size of a horse, but they're also penned in by the same squat columns.
They approach the edge of the enclosure, but don't seem hostile.
Chark Torrefi
Chark eyes the pen. Should wee release them? she thinks aloud. I'd rather see them free to roam than abused by these xulgaths.
Haldan Hadonstar
”If they will not be hostile, then they should definitely be set free. No creature deserves captivity. Not a one.”
Haldan looks into how to free the creature.
”If anyone has anything to feed them, now would be a good time.”
Mumbling Charlie
"Maybe we leave th..them, here for a moment until we g..g..go to leave?" Charlie suggests, unsure how they will act once the cage is open. He didn't have much experience with Dinosaurs.
Goliath curiously moves forward and sniffs at the dinosaurs, drawing in their scent as he looks for food himself. "Wh..what do they eat?"
Dungeon Master S - 2e
Mentally picture Jersey barriers more than cages. You're confident these things could climb over if motivated. Determining what they eat is a Recall Knowledge check (nature)
Charlie thinks these are herbivores, but their armor and tails are a clear indication that they don't have a lot of successful predators eating them.
Charlie: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Haldan Hadonstar
”Well, if they’re herbivores, let’s keep an eye out for something that could be their food in order to help them out. If they wanted to eat us, they could be doing that right now.”
If Haldan immediately sees anything that could be food based on this new info anywhere in the room, including any containers, he will go to feed the dinosaurs.
Chark Torrefi
Purina Dino Chow...?
Chark extends a hand to one and, if allowed, will pat it on the head. We can leave them for now, yes, she says, but we'll not leave them here longer than necessary.
Once the matter is settled (and they are fed, if we can find some food), Chark points to the east. Let's see what is down this way.
Dungeon Master S - 2e
Would Haldan's plan include jumping into their pen to look?
Haldan Hadonstar
If Haldan cannot see over, and his friend’s hand was not eaten when he tried to pet the creatures, Haldan will jump over way from the dinosaurs.
Dungeon Master S - 2e
The dinosaurs didn't react when anyone approached, so he moves to find something in their pen.
Unfortunately, they turn violent as soon as there's a creature on their side of the pylons.

Haldan Hadonstar
Stride twice and cast shield.
"My apologies Wayward Wonderers. I only meant to feed them."
Dungeon Master S - 2e
Everyone stops for a moment while Haldan moves to a better spot. With no one on their side of the pen, the dinosaurs go back to a calmer state.
Out of combat
Haldan Hadonstar
”Well, that was bracing. Clearly they like to keep a social amount of distance.”
Dungeon Master S - 2e
No one objects to Charlie's nod, so the party heads east.
The hallway continues a bit before arriving at another set of mysterious stones. A heavy black cloth conceals a passage to the north.
Most of the party spies a pair of snares, reasonably well hidden, between the stone barricades...

Mumbling Charlie
With their snares gone and a set from Charlie in place he motions for everyone to stand back a bit. Unfurling his whip he motions to get ready. Arching it back he lets loose a couple good and loud cracks into the air.
Dungeon Master S - 2e
The new racket doesn't immediately produce results, but everyone stands ready. It's like the moment before the show starts.....
After a breath, Tiny, Chark, and Charlie feel the horripilation start. Trouble comes...

It also says nothing about stun, so FORT: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27. His first two attacks work like a charm, and his third only barely misses.
Suddenly a trio of xulgaths charge in from the north. Two gang up on Goliath, and one on Chark. Chark never saw the two coming after the bear, but was ready for the one coming after her. As they enter the room they let their stink wash over the party, but at this point, no one seems affected.
