I suggest small-talk during the walk to up him from friendly (which he seems to be already) to helpful: diplomacy and bluff.

We can also try a sleight of hand to pickpocket that keycard (his perception must be garbage right now) and hack it, but this might be getting ahead of ourselves - and wouldn’t do much for the eye scan (I suppose someone will need to hack the security database and add some retinas)

Only Chetna (+3) and K'ssatak-Sul (+7) have mysticism, could their bots perhaps squeeze an identify creature somewhere in their rounds?

Seeing how the ship on the second slide is much less impressive than this one, I checked the starships stat blocks on the society guide - this one above is actually the tier 4 version!

The tier 2 has no heavy weapons, so we can't use the solar weapon boon either. This is going to be a much tougher battle than I thought, considering how crummy the society ships are.

Think its built to fight outside hence the Hex grid if we go back we would have to fight the whole station. Outside we fight 2 fighters. If we cripple 1 quickly then we will gain a great advantage.

Or are you talking about letting them board us? That would also depend on the the result of the scanners, if there's only 1 or 2 people inside each ship, that'd be an easy fight, more than that, our odds on a starship battle are probably better - not to mention faster.

Alright, the Monstruwacan and Zoomer are both on turret weapons with long range.

Our missiles have a speed of 12 and theirs only 10. We don't have any point weapons, so if you keep us at least 11 or 12 hexes away from the enemy ships, we can keep dodging their micromissile battery while (probably) hitting them.

By the way, the Magic Officer acts on the engineering phase.

Missing that was pretty bad... these tiny ships have a lot of hull points, and at first glance, seem better built than our ship - they balance some serious investment in armor (mk 2 or mk 3) with cheap but reasonable weapons.

They can hardly take us out unless they start doing flybys all the time, but they'll sure give us a hard time.

For botting K’ssatak-Sul, may I suggest using either of the following Open Crew Actions?

Prioritize Calculation (Open)
You use a command terminal to temporarily suspend background computer tasks running noncritical systems throughout the ship, prioritizing the combat calculations made at one specific crew station. One crew member attempting a check this round and using a bonus from the ship’s computer can increase that bonus by 1.

Range Finding (Open)
You use any one of a number of your ship’s systems to identify the range to a specific target or spatial feature, and you relay that information to another crew member so that they are free to focus on other aspects of the task they’re attempting this round. Select one crew member filling the gunner, pilot, or science officer role. They gain +1 bonus to one attack roll or skill check of their choice related to starship combat that’s attempted before the end of this turn.

They don’t require skill checks, and the gunners could really use the bonus, specially Zoomer against their abnormally high AC.
