*At Tessa's Big Speech*
Val nods along with Tessa's big announcement and raises both a cheer and a glass at its conclusion.

ah, Red, impulsive as ever... we really should have bargained with Fairwind for our backing before making an announcement like that, but thinking ahead never was your style... maybe I can still come to some kind of arrangement with her for ongoing support...

*With Polli After the Announcement*
Once things have calmed down a bit from Tessa's big announcement, Captain Blackwing comes calling at Polli's door. She smiles warmly at the sylph when she answers and asks, "are you ready for a real talk? The pieces are falling into place: the Chelish navy has been defeated, one of our closest allies will be claiming the Hurricane Crown, and soon, under my command, we'll have the freedom to finish what we started with Dony's mother and those contracts, and to put an end to the twins' game... but you've been different since all that started and if we're going to come up with an effective plan for all that I need to know the truth about where you're at... "

Polli considers Val from the open doorway. Many emotions waring behind her vivid blue eyes. For a second, Val is certain Polli is about to say No and slam the door but... memories, regret, remembered attachments bring her back. "Fine." the wizard says tightly, moving into her narrow room with just her in it. "Dony spends most of her time on deck nowadays, trying to let the winds wash her guilt away or to avoid me... we rarely talk anymore so you'll have to ask her for her own version of the 'truth'." Polli turns to sit at her desk, so the pain there is hidden. The desk is covered in every book the wizard has found on demons, scattered with lots of notes, and oddly a lone earring on a saucer within reach.

"Fina..." the word cannot be said from the woman's lips without obvious yearning "... is targeting me, repeatedly. I have no idea why. A twisted version of a cat and a mouse I assume." she shuffles through the pile to find the pages on she-devil beasts "They have a natural resistance to arcane magic, but last time I attempted to kill her it almost seemed like more, that I was... powerless. If Dony hasn't..." she stopped, tight and hollow at the same time. Turning to look at Val "They can track me... probably you as well, since they stated that was due to our ingesting of their fluids, though I've been unable to find any other reference to that. Might just be something no one ever wanted to admit before. Hmmm..." her analytical mind wants to explore that avenue, maybe she has been trying to research in too many respectable places. A library specializing in depravity probably exists in the Port somewhere. But there is one more thing to admit the 'truth' of. The part she has been avoiding. "I think about her all the time, no longer Dony in here, just... Fina." that fact settles like a stone in water, slumping her down lower than one should ever.

With a shuddering breath, she pulls herself back up. "Now you know all I can tell you. Oh, I threw the candle overboard, since keeping it from me was no longer an option. Now what, Captian Blackwing?"

Human*, Slayer 9/Inquisitor 4 | HP 113/113 | AC 24 (t16/ff19) | CMD 30 | F +14, R +14, W +13 (+2 vs evil) | perception (darkvision 60') +25, sense motive +23 | +9 initiative | active effects: protection from evil, focused scrutiny, heroism, resist energy (30), crusader's edge

Val’s heart sinks for a moment at the revelation that the candle is gone, but her ability to appear unfazed is more than sufficient to hide that reaction from the fragile wizard. “It’s always been a game of cat and mouse with her, yes,” she answers with some real empathy, “I was willing to play it, for a while, because it was the best way for me to study the cats, but… well, they found too great an advantage. Now that they’ve gotten their claws into us we need to put an end to it. They haven’t been in my dreams at all, so maybe they can’t track me… but, either way, we’re going to figure out how to break that. We would have passed any actual fluids by now, so there must be some kind of magic involved; we should both get checked for curses and enchantments and that sort of thing. Normally I’d ask you to check me, but in this case maybe we should look for someone who hasn’t encountered them, just in case you’re being effected by something that will hide the effects from you. I know a demonologist here in the city we can ask?”

Dony’s blaming herself for Polli’s state, we better handle the twins first so these two can start mending their relationship while we handle things with the contracts…

Azira's Introduction ...

Another set of eyes watches the newcomer with suspicion. At Captain Blackwing's announcement that she'll find something for Azira to do, Mei's face clouds. Ignoring the conversation she'd been a part of with Rosie regarding supply requirements, she turns on her heel and with what can only be described as a slammed door, returns to their quarters. The halfling chuckles darkly. "I think a certain captain ain't gettin' any tonight," she says with a smirk.

Currently ...

Dony and Polli have indeed been spending more time apart lately, but whether that's due to the tiefling having misgivings or a misunderstanding on the sylph's part is anyone's guess. She's even taken to doing solo charity missions into the port city proper. Coordinating with some of the local good temples, she's been laying the groundwork for an orphanage that actually prioritizes the needs of the children over profit.

As Valeria and Polli discuss the ramifications of associating with succubi, Crimson Cogward taps on the nearby doorframe. "Uh, Ma'ams?" he interjects. "I hates to interrupt, but there's a ... a kid at the gangplank. She's upset and says she's a Siren, but ... uh ... she looks like she ain't even hit puberty yet." He shrugs his shoulders. "I told her that we don't take anyone on that young, but seein's how we've had a change in leadership ..." Leaving the question unasked, he continues. "She wanted to speak with Captain Tessa, but I told her that she ain't captain no more. Besmora's boobs did the tears start to fall then." He meets Valeria's eyes. "I told her that I'd let you know she was wantin' to speak with you. If you really want, I'll tell her to piss off, but ..." He shrugs again.

For a man that's served with a primarily female crew for almost a year, Crimson's surprising inability to handle an emotional female is on display for all to see.

Polli glares at the interruption but recognition sparks in her eyes "Mona or Feather!" then she is bolting past them both to the upper deck.

Polli makes her way up to the main deck and over to the gangplank. Sure enough, she sees Mona standing at the bottom of it, tears streaming down her cheeks. Other than her emotional state, she seems to be in good health. She's wearing rough-spun clothes. They're ill-fitting and bear numerous patches, but they seem clean. Her brown hair is also clean and pulled up onto her head in a mess of a bun held in place by two hairpins.

It's clear that she wants to run up to Polli, but she remains standing at the bottom of the wooden plank awaiting permission to come aboard.

Female Sylph Wizard 13 | HP: 67/67 | AC: 13(17/19) -1, T:13, FF:10 | CMD: 26 | CMB: +13| Fort: +8 | Ref: +10: Will: +13 | Init: +3 | Perception: 0(-2) lighting 13/13, cyclone 13/13 toppling 3/3 focus 1/1| Portrait | conditions: mage armor, protection of arrows, endure elements

Polli kneels down, opening her arms "Mona, come here dear. What's wrong?" she remembers the girl's love of pirate ships "You have permission to come aboard. You are a Siren."

The girl races up the ramp and wraps her arms around Polli as if she's never going to let her go as the tears begin to gush again.

"They t-t-t-took her! Them! They took all of th-th-them! F-f-feather. The red-s-s-skinned lady. Everyone!" she manages through sobs.

After bringing Mona up to the main deck, Polli and Val get the story through the running tears, stuttering, and wracking sobs. Donomsail (the red-skinned lady) was visiting the newly established orphanage (currently a converted warehouse). And while she was there a half-dozen men and women showed up who were 'quite rude'. They demanded that Dony come with them and she refused and was going to call for help when some of the people drew weapons and threatened some of the other kids - including Feather. One of the older boys blustered some and, without hesitating, one of the women stuck a sword in his belly.

Dony capitulated quickly agreeing to accompany them if she would be allowed to heal the boy and they wouldn't hurt anyone else. They agreed and then they rounded up the kids and left with them and Dony. Mona had been outside tending to ... outside things ... and watched it all from a cracked doorway.

At Azira’s Arrival
Val grabs the nearest crew member and asks them to give the newest Siren a tour of the ship. Once they’re on their way, she quietly heads to her quarters and closes the door softly behind her. “Something troubles you, my love?” she asks with only the tiniest hint of displeasure.

With Mona on Deck
”You’re safe now,” Val reassures the girl as she checks her over, ”and we’ll get everyone back. Tell me exactly where the warehouse is and then Crimson here is going to take you to the kitchen to get something to eat.” She pays close attention to the girl’s response to be certain she is who she says she is and has answered honestly. take 10 on perception (for 37) and sense motive (for 35) to make sure we’re not being set up

As Crimson takes the girl away, she turns to Polli and asks, “do you have any spells prepared that would lead us straight to her, or do we need to track her down the hard way?”

Valeria:
Valeria finds Meiying sitting in a seat with her feet curled up underneath her. Her face is hidden by a large book. "Why whatever could be troubling me, my love?" she replies in an icy tone. "I'm sure I'll get to meet your newest fan ... sorry, the newest crew member, at some point or another."

"When she's not eyeing your tits like a starving infant," she mutters under her breath.

~~~~~
Nothing seems untoward or insincere as far as Mona is concerned.
"Wait!" she tells Crimson, looking at the little girl she asks "Does Feather still have the hairpin I gave you?" one of the special hairpins Polli kept from one of their adventures, she had given one to both of the girls, in case she needed to find them. "The range isn't great, but it might help."
she meant to use Locate object on it, if they needed to, only 400ft + 40 per level, she can use her arcane focus if we think we are close.
"Also Dony should have her ring." Polli had two rings made early on in their relationship to allow them both to talk up to a mile apart. She tries it now, just in case, but she knows Dony would have called for help if she had been in range.
"I know where the warehouse is. Are you ready?" she stands, ready to teleport now.
Previously, in Private with Meiying:
Val’s expression softens. “Are you trying to keep me from my responsibilities?” she asks, fidgeting playfully with the top clasp of her bodice. “You know it’s kind of hot when you get a little jealous.”
Taking the book gently from Mei’s hand, she closes it and sets it down. Then, gazing into her lover’s eyes, she offers, “you know, I should be the jealous one here… you’re the one who’s into winged, shape-changing brunettes after all…” She pauses for a moment to kiss the cook softly on her forehead before asking, “would it make you feel better if we took a few minutes to get your smell on me to mark your territory?”
”Azira,” Val calls up to the rigging. A moment later the ship’s new master at arms sails down to the deck. They exchange a look and then both women transform into grubby children.
”Alright,” Val finally answers, ”we’re ready.”
"Thank you, ma'am," one of the children says meekly when they arrive. She quickly casts a spell on the other child (acute senses) then begins approaching any people she can find and asking, "excuse me, did you see a kind, red-skinned woman pass by here with a bunch of kids? My sister and I got separated from them?"
I'm not sure what kind of roll(s) to make... should I just roll gather info to see if we can find enough witnesses to trail them somewhere, or do you want to play out a series of interactions with the people we encounter?
The other child gives a nod to Polli then begins checking the area over for any clues about who might have taken Dony or where they came from or were headed.
On the Way Back from War:
After vanquishing the Chelaxian navy, Captain Blackwing plans the route home to include brief stops in Drenchport and Hell Harbor. She and Azira use those stops to recruit people to staff the fort on the Island of Empty Eyes and the tower they recently claimed from Harrigan. She makes sure to find dependable stewards for each location, as well as journeymen harbormasters to oversee their docks.
I'll use regular recruiting for that since I was planning on having my followers be a network of spies/informants, based out of the alchemy shop in Port Peril. Let me know if you want/need any rolls for that.
*Shortly after Tessa and Harmony leave*
Captain Blackwing gathers the whole crew on the deck of the Siren and flies up into the rigging to address them all. "Sirens, we have been through a lot these last weeks: weathering Harrigan's assault, conquering his tower, besting the Chelish navy, and now losing our beloved captains. We have bled together, won victories they'll sing songs about for generations together, gotten paid together, and said goodbye together. I thank each and every one of you for your service, and for choosing to stay on and serve under my command. There is one thing that we have largely neglected to do together though, and its starting to show in our roster... we haven't handed out nearly enough promotions!"
She pauses for a second while a round of cheers go up and then continues, "so, without further ado, here is the new roster of officers under Cap'n Blackwing: first mate, Polli Bog; bosun, Surina Jullus; bosun's mate, Rosa Dola; sailing master, Ennia Libo; master-at-arms, Azira Tal-Shirin; master gunner, Dhruv Lal; gunner's mate, Shamsiel; ship's healer, Donomsail Lishonti; ship's cook, Meiying Preda; cook's mate and quartermaster, Ambrose Kroop; ship's carpenter, Gwindel--I hope you remember everything you learned from ole Rickety; and, as cabin boy, Owlbear."
"Those of you whose names weren't called should still hold your heads high, you are no less Sirens and your loyal service is no less valued, besides... at this point you're all senior swabs and riggers and when we get into port we'll take on a bunch of new, replacement crew you can boss around."
"Find a direction" she tells the children, as she tries her ring to see if Dony is within a mile... and able to communicate.
The Introduction of Azira ...
Valeria:
"Don't you try to distract me with ... with your sexiness and ... and boobs," the tiefling protests, but her rigidness softens somewhat. "I'm not attracted to the woman at all. But she sure seems more ... you clearly have more in common with her than with me. And anyone can see that she's attracted to you. It's only a matter of time until ..." She looks away.
Val: No need to roll for refilling the holes in the roster. The Siren has gained a reputation enough that there's no shortage of folk willing to serve under the general banner. It does have a tendency to attract a certain ... demographic, though. :)
~~~~~

Mona meekly points to the two pins holding her hair in place and sadly explains that since Feather's hair is so short, she gave her pin to the younger girl.

Polli has been to the warehouse a couple of times and is familiar with the place. It's a unused warehouse that Dony has purchased. It's currently divided into various areas with temporary partitions. There's a common area with a makeshift kitchen as well as ten small private sleeping spaces with cots. It's not fancy, but it's clean and protected from the elements.

Arriving at the place, the ladies find the common area is disarray with stools tossed aside and the table overturned. There's a young man there with a rent and blood-stained tunic that's attempting to straighten up the place.

"Miss Polli?" he says in surprise as she enters the main area with the two trailing children. "They took her, Miss Polli. They took Miss Dony. I tried to stop 'em, but ..." He gestured down at his clothing. "I weren't strong enough."

He describes the seven attackers as best as he can, but there's not much to go on. It was a mix of men and women in dark, weather-stained cloaks and hoods. From what he could tell they looked human. Unfortunately, he didn't see which way they left the warehouse.

...

Azira and Valeria canvas the surrounding area in the guise of children. For the most part, their questioning is not received well and they're given the brush off, but a disheveled elderly woman sitting in the corner of a nearby alley nods sadly.

"Aye, my ducklings," she says. "I seen 'er. She and some little ones like you was in the company of some rough types." She points towards the empty end of the alley. "They gathered 'em all up over there and gave her something to drink. It must'a packed quite a wallop because she was out in an instant. They started pulling her clothes off and I was thinkin' they was a real crude sort, gonna have their way with her right in front of a buncha' young ones like you, but once they had her bare o' everything, they put it all in a bag." She sucks on her lip for a moment. "They was magic types, 'cause one of 'em opened a bright red doorway and the one with the bag went through it. Then they opened another and the one carryin' the red-skinned woman went through it and took two of the kids with 'im." A shrug shifts the woman's bony shoulders. "The rest of 'em headed back to the street and scattered along with the rest of the little ones."

Just After Azira’s Intro (w/Mei):
”Oh, I’m sorry,” Val teases as she ‘accidentally’ pops open the top clasp of her bodice, “am I distracting you?” Bending at the waist to maximize cleavage exposure, she leans down to softly kiss the top of Meiying’s head. “She and I do seem to have a lot in common,” she whispers, remaining bent forward, “which is why she’ll be such a valuable ally. But I’m not in love with me, I’m in love with you…which is why you don’t have anything to worry about from me, and why I’m going to be watching her like a hawk every time she talks to you.”

”In fact… why don’t we get you out of the sundress so I can get my scent on you before she gets any ideas?”

*Presently*
Young Val reports back to Polli and Azira, “There’s signs of some resistance but whoever did this knew enough not to leave behind any clues about who they were or where they came from.”

The other grubby young girl scrunches her nose and replies, ”I have even worse news, I’m afraid…”

She moves close enough to whisper and quietly tells Polli and Val, “they were able to open red portals and teleport away from here, and they were smart about magical tracking: they took away all of her possessions—so you can’t contact her by her ring—and sent them through a different portal, so that if we try to track her by those we’ll be led in the wrong direction.”

”That’s not a lot to go on,” Val admits, “but if we move somewhere safe I could use magic to see if there’s been any whispers in the city about red portals or a band of people in the city that looked like that… are there any other rumors I should look for, if I have time?”

”Polli, any chance you could scry on Donomsail and see if you can find any clues from her surroundings?”

"No." Polli says with regret for not concentrating on studying ways to search for people more. "We should go after the ones that scattered without magic, to save the rest of the kids and get whatever informaiton they have." she has no doubt she can wring every fact from them.

Grubby, young Val freezes in her tracks for a moment then gives Polli a warm smile. ”I was so fixated on Donm that I didn’t even think about the kids,” she confesses, “we have to find those kids, not just to get information but because she wouldn’t want them all back on the streets tonight. We’ll find them and see what they remember, and then we’ll bring them back here and make sure they have a warm dinner and a safe place to sleep. I have some friends in the city who can help keep this place running until we get her back.”

I’ll have a couple of my followers staff the orphanage for now. What kind of rolls do we need to round up the orphans? I’ll gladly use up a spell or two for a bunch of quick gather info checks if that’ll work (my check would be super high right now).

The Introduction of Azira ...

Valeria:
By Mei's physical reactions, Val's method of distraction is having its desired effect, but the woman doesn't seem to want to go down without a fight. "Fine," she declares, her breathing growing more ragged as she's enveloped in her captain's ample 'assets'. "But I reserve the right to send her off to another post if her attraction to you grows more troublesome." She looks up to meet Val's eyes. "It would only be fair, wouldn't it?"

Currently ...

The rest of the afternoon is spent gathering up the scattered recipients of Donomsail's benevolence and return then to the orphanage. They relay pretty much the same story that Mona told you. Expanding on what the old woman described, they each give a slightly different account that you can sift the facts from. Doni was given a choice, drink the offered substance or they would leave her and take the kids. The threat of what would happen to them didn't need to be voiced. She capitulated and they took her, Feather, and a younger boy named Wills through the magical portal. The rest of the children, having served their purpose, were ignored and the remainder of the cloak-clad attackers scattered as well.

Leaving some of her underlings to watch after the gathered flock, Val, Polli, and Azira return to the Siren for the captain to utilize some of her information gathering magic. Returning to the ship, for some reason Polli notes, hanging from a nail on the main-mast, a pair of frilly, lace-edged undergarments that look very familiar. In fact the last time she saw them, they were wrapped around a candle that she was throwing overboard.

"Sorry about those, Ma'am," Rosie says, noting the sylph's attention to the dangling display. "A couple o' the crew found those floating in the f!*$ing drink and thought they'd make for good luck. I can take 'em down if you think it goes too far. It is a strange sort o' totem - a fancy lady's cunt cover." She laughs.

~~~~~
Heading to her cabin, Val casts her spell to listen to the rumors of the city. As in previous castings, she catches snippets of conversation here and there that might pertain to their quarry. Hints and discussions of the cloaked figures as well as discoveries of discarded cloaks indicating that those that didn't follow through the portal quickly disposed of their concealing garments to blend into the crowds.
As the spell continues, though, Val notices a strange effect that she hadn't encountered before. Bits of conversation from disparate individuals merging into ... a singular message.
'It takes a clever woman ...' says a washer-woman in the docks. '... to read between the lines ...' mutters a dwarf haggling over the price of a pair of metal boots. '... and find the message within.' a harlot snaps at her departing client. 'We might know where ...' says a man selling noodles in the market square. Polli stares at the undergarment, considering at length whether to ignite the entire mast in flame, just so she could destroy them without having to touch them. Couldn't take too long to rebuild the Siren, surely not.
"Not a fancy lady's. The owner is a pox-scared disease-ridden bag of lice with breasts." the wizard says flatly. "Whoever touched them should wash thoroughly or their fingers might rot. Doctor's orders." her rage is under control, just barely and Only due to her abject terror at what was being done to Dony at this moment.
Val scowls at the spell’s results. Putting on a stoic visage, she returns to the deck and approaches Polli.
she looks like she’s already upset… those panties must mean something to her… the twins may already be taunting her… that’s not going to help this conversation…
She pauses next to the sylph for a moment before finally saying, “well, I have some good news and some bad news. I found someone who knows where Dony is… someone who went to great lengths to make sure that I would find them and no one else… someone who, I’m guessing, has already sent you a message too…”
the candle’s back… and they would have put it where it’ll have the biggest impact…
Val quietly tells Polli, “it’s most likely in your chamber.”
"should have left traps" the wizard will go check if Rosie doesn't have any idea.
Itzi's at the con, so we will need to wait
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Rosie's brow scrunches up at Polli's question. "Now that you mention it ..." She turns and shouts at one of the swabs. "Hey, Totah! Wasn't there something else you and Shadi found floating with the knickers?"
A slender, dark-haired girl looks up nervously. "Something else, Ma'am? I ... I don't know ..." she stammers out nervously. "Don't yank my tits, sailor," Rosie snaps back.
"There ... there was a candle, Ma'am," she offers up after a moment.
"Why the f@~$ didn't you say that in the first place. Get the damn thing up here for the Captain and Bog," Rosie orders before turning to the officers. "Not sure what's up her arse."
"The candle, Ma'am? It summons a water nymph spirit, Ma'am. That's why we didn't mention it," Totah says looking down at the deck with embarrassment. Rosie rolls her eyes. "You'll have to butter each other's muffins, sailor. No more playing with an aquatic slut spirit."
Totah runs off and a short time later returns with another sailor. This girl is a little taller with very close-cropped red hair. She's bearing a candle and hesitantly hands it to Rosie. "Sorry, Ma'am," she says in a husky voice. "We was just havin' fun."
"In the future? When you find something other than undergarments? You need to let someone know," Rosie orders before handing the candle to Polli.
The musky scent of the candle tickles the sylph's nostrils as she looks down at it. It's obvious that the candle has been lit more than once, but there's still a lot of burn time left on it.
Val studies the two women as they speak and scrutinizes them for any signs of dishonesty or disguise. When she's handed the candle, she lifts it between herself and the two women, then casts her spell for detecting demonic taint. She inspects the candle with the magic, but also examines both of the women beyond it. "Tell me more about this nymph," she instructs, "how it arrived, what it said, whether you've fantasized about one before?"
Val continues taking 10, for 37 perception and 35 sense motive. And the spell will reveal if they are demons, have and demonic blood, or have been tainted in any way by demons.
The candle was being handed to her, making the wizard's insides turn all melty and making her mind scream at those traitorous insides. Val's sudden taking of the candle before she could touch it before relaxes the wizard and makes her feel that the captain does not trust her. Probably with good reason, but still...
She rolls her eyes at the desire to hear about the torrid love affair with a disguised succubus. "I'll go prepare for the ritual." she snaps and leaves the others to their verbal voyeurism.
”…Were there ever two of them or was it always just the one?”
The two women share nervous glances and Val can tell that they're not sure how much detail they're expected to give.
"Um, Ma'am?" Totah says, her eyes looking up at Val and then back down to the deck. "I ain't never fantasized about nothing like that before, but when 'Tina lit that there candle, there was a cloud of spicy smoke and a blue-skinned woman in the middle of it - really pretty. She said that she'd ... that she'd do whatever we wanted and it would only cost a kiss." She shrugs. "We didn't see no harm in it. We both gave her a kiss and ..." A flush rises up the girl's neck and face. "Well, she made good on her promise." The other woman giggles. "We've lit it a couple o' times since then but it's just been ... we only ..." She looks at her companion.
"It's just been f!+%ing, Ma'am," the woman with the short-cropped red hair adds. Val recalls her name to be Stertina Shadi. "And it's all been on our own time. We didn't think we was doin' any harm. And it's only ever been just the one." She looks at Totah and giggles again. "If there was ever two of them ..." She doesn't even try to conceal her smirk. "I think we both would'o missed a day or two o' work and been in real trouble."
Val's magic detects the presence of what she would assume to be a succubus's profane gift on both of the sailors. Other than that, though, they seem entirely sincere.
Val sighs slightly and answers, “well, who hasn’t pissed off their girlfriend by making out with a nereid before… the problem is, you weren’t f#cking a nereid, you were f#cking a succubus who disguised herself to feed on you, or any other crew she could get her claws into, and now she’s marked you.”
“You, swab,” she calls to Azira, “call everyone up to the deck, quickly, I need to check if anyone else has been marked.” The dwarf promptly scampers off to carry out the order.
Turning to Polli while she waits, she silently asks the sylph, [do we know anyone who can remove a succubus’ mark that owes us a favor?]
It doesn't take much to gather the skeleton crew overseeing the Siren on the main deck (the remainder utilizing some well-earned leave in the large port city). To Valeria's relief, only the two sailors that have made use of the enchanted candle show any sort of demonic taint.
Polli would know that a dispel evil or a dispel chaos would remove the profane gift. The original succubus could also remove it as a free action. Either will have negative consequences, though.
Polli was headed down to her room with the candle cradled desperately in her hands. A nagging feeling has her turn back to the new captain, in time to see her unspoken question. [If there’s nobody we can call on to cure them I’ll send them away, but we shouldn’t summon the twins on the ship…too much potential for others to get hurt. The old alchemist shop should be empty, we could do it there?]
Polli stops, visible torn between doing this NOW and doing it right. [Fine] she agrees and turns about. "You two, don't you have jobs to do that doesn't involve gawking at your breasty captain like teenagers with a stiff member! Move to it. “That sounds reckless,” Val answers inquisitively. Then, silently, she continues, [we shouldn’t talk about that openly, just in case their ability to track you, or us, allows them to spy on us somehow.]
[I’m ready to kill them if you are, but capturing them is not without risk. They might not talk and we could miss out on whatever they know. Best case scenario, we’d probably have to be ready to only banish them in exchange for their information instead of killing them. "Alright, we'll play their game," Val answers aloud. Then, silently, she adds only to Polli, [Please try to show a little more restraint this time, though. Once they arrive at the alchemist's shop, Val leads the way to a room with 1 door and no windows. While Polli prepares for the ritual, the busty slayer sets about casting protection from evil on herself and both her companions, as well as focused scrutiny on herself.
Azira seems somewhat distracted on the flight as her mind races with a mix of thrill and anxiety over a showdown with the succubi she'd heard so much about. Still, she's careful to stay at least ten feet from the captain and first mate at all times, just in case someone was scrying on them or something.
Even inside the shop, she maintains her distance. When Val starts casting spells she joins in as well, placing heroism on both of her companions before pausing to 'listen' to a silent command from the captain. After that, she nods dutifully and heads for the other side of the soon to be closed door to the room. After hiding herself in the hallway she casts acute senses on herself and waits.
The alchemist's shop is as secure as Valeria remembers it. Other than some evidence of Feather and Mona's brief residency, nothing indicates anyone else has been here. A room in the basement fits the trio's requirements and is quickly cleared of various crates of inert ingredients.
Once various protective magics have been put in place, Polli places the candle in the middle of the floor and lights the charred wick. Almost instantly the musky, decidedly female scent begins to fill the room bringing to mind different memories to the different women. Vapors slowly roll off the burning candle and spread across the floor towards Val and Polli's feet.
As Polli steps back from the encroaching mist, between one blink of the eyes and the next, a woman appears next to the candle. Nude with blue skin and embodying the exaggerated feminine form that so many elementals of her nature adopt, the figure smiles knowingly at the sylph.
"I knew you couldn't resist for long," she says in a sultry voice and takes two slow, swaying steps to approach the small woman. One hand reaches out to brush delicate fingers along Polli's jaw before tracing a single finger down her neck. She glances at Valeria before locking eyes with the diminutive mage. "So is she just going to watch or is she going to join us?"
Human*, Slayer 9/Inquisitor 4 | HP 113/113 | AC 24 (t16/ff19) | CMD 30 | F +14, R +14, W +13 (+2 vs evil) | perception (darkvision 60') +25, sense motive +23 | +9 initiative | active effects: protection from evil, focused scrutiny, heroism, resist energy (30), crusader's edge
Val makes sure the door is closed and stands in front of it while Polli is lighting the candle. When the figure appears, she studies it as it moves to taunt the sylph. “Oh, I’m just here to watch, and make sure everyone plays nicely,” she answers the question that wasn’t really addressed to her, “but shouldn’t there be two of you?”
The woman leans in to brush her lips against Polli's ear. "Oh, I always play nice," she says in answer to Val's question, her warm breath playing across the sylph's sensitive skin. "Unless you want me to play naughty." She chuckles in a throaty voice. "Which would you prefer, Polli?"
Turning away from the wizardress, she meets Val's discerning gaze. "Should there be two of me? Could you handle more than me?" Her eyes travel up and down the slayer's form. She's heard the term 'eye f#*!ed' before, but this is the first time she's experienced it herself. The woman's lip curls up into a sly smile. "Maybe you could at that, but you said that you're just here to watch. So watch."
She turns back to Polli. "So what can I do for you, little one?" she asks, raising her hand again and gently tracing the tip of her finger over Polli's lips. "What will curl your toes and make you scream out to the divinities? Whatever it is, I can make it happen." Her head tips back slightly, but her dark gaze continue to examine the sylph as if sifting through the fantasies she can see in Polli's eyes.
Polli's fury is only eclipsed by the worry she has about her love. As the blue-skinned demon appears, she opens her mouth to shout her demands, venom and hate dripping from every word. Breathing in to do so...
her nose is invaded by the sweet musky smell, swirling the red-tinged air around her head like a fine wine, instantly making her drunk and slack-mouthed with the WANT of it all.
She bites her lip as the luscious temptress plays with her, prompts her, teases her with more things than her mind can imagine.
"I... I need..." the little mage tries to not ask for what she wants. "Dony... Donomsail..." her foot raises and SLAMS down on her other one "F%!&! You know where she is! What do you want?"
