Dellan winces with a hiss at the sight of the gruesome attack, and steps forward to try and raise Ray's defenses.
Aid Another to Ray instead.

Argus grumbles something about messageboards and their mothers, and swings again.

Raybin Butcher |

Ray doesn't even try to escape. He simply switches to a one-handed grip on the longsword and hacks at the esobok.
Longsword: 1d20 + 4 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 2 + 2 = 11

claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
damage: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Argus brains the esobok again and then, against all odds, Amanteia's bolt finds a vital spot, even despite the creature's difficult-to-penetrate hide. It still stands but only barely. It takes a half-hearted swipe at Dellan with a claw, then collapses from the exertion.
COMBAT OVER

Bob the Familiar |

Bob caws in what could easily be mistaken for laughter.
"You look like my second cousin after he got hit with a greatclub. Pretty much all that was left of him was feathers and a grease stain."

![]() |

Dellan gives Bob the side-eye. "Quite charming, your bird." He reaches down and touches Ray with the wand to heal his wounds.

Argus Coalheart |

Argus helps the newly healed Raybin to his feet and claps him on the back. "D-do you kn... know how to use t-this?" He indicates the warhammer. At the occultist's nod, he hands him the weapon. "C-carry it for n... for n... for the time being. I will rel...ly on the chosen weapon of m-my goddess."

Raybin Butcher |

Ray takes the adamantine hammer and nods his thanks to the paladin. He gives it a few test swings. "Used to using a longsword. That's the blade I was trained in when I was with the Varlokkur. But the hammer should be straightforward enough. Damn, that's heavy. Nice balance though..."
He rests the hammer against his shoulder. "Well, let's get to the top and see what Mama Fairy has to say about giving us a stamp. I don't like our odds, personally."

![]() |

Dellan sighs. "Neither do I, but we do not have much choice, yes? We need that stamp to continue. Whatever comes, we will deal with it. Same setup as before?"

Argus Coalheart |

Argus nods solemnly, and makes a sweeping gesture toward the ladder. "L-lead the w... way, Raybin."
Same setup. Ray first, then Argus, then Amanteia, then Dellan in the rear.

GM Mike |

A long bridge stretches from the door at the top of the guardhouse to a door at the top of the palace. The southern half of the bridge arches above the courtyard 30 feet below. The northern half of the bridge has a drop of only 10 feet to the roof of the castle below. The bridge is only a few feet wide and has no handholds or railings. The door at the north end of the bridge is flanked by several narrow windows, each 2 feet tall and only a few inches wide.

![]() |

Dellan blanches a bit. It's not a long fall but it won't feel good when he hits the ground below, regardless. "Did I mention I am not an acrobat?" he grumbles, following the others across.

Haha wow.
These tooth fairies look a little bit different than the ones you've fought before. They basically have the same abilities as regular tooth fairies, but they also have a rogue level (which means sneak attack, which means I rolled terribly). Also, they have 5' reach with their pliers.

Dellan wobbles a bit on the narrow bridge, grumbling under his breath. He steadies himself enough to pull out his holy symbol and fill it with energy, calling:
"Mere asalee moras ke lie shaimpen;
Mere sham moras ke lie asalee dard!"
Channeling energy, excluding all 3 fey. Using Purifying Channel on the one next to Raybin. I haven't used it in a minute, so as a reminder, the tooth fairy makes a Will Save, DC 15, or it takes the channel damage and also is dazzled for 1 round. Success on the save is half damage and no dazzle.
Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Argus Coalheart |

Balancing precariously on the narrow ledge, Argus draws out his glave and strikes at the one that was just next to Dellan.

Argus gets up and draws his glaive, feeling really, really stupid.

Argus Coalheart |

Argus steps back a bit and helps Ray up onto the bridge again. He looks around at his companions with a frown; all of them but Amanteia are badly injured. "W-we are in r... r... rough shape. D... do we wish to c-continue?"

![]() |

Dellan frowns. "I have no channeled energy left. I am not quite so gifted with it as clerics are. However, I do still have a few spells left, and we have maybe nineteen charges on the wand. I am willing to continue if the rest of you are."

Raybin Butcher |

Ray shrugs. "I still got a couple spells in the tank, though if we're gonna keep going, I wanna burn one to heighten my senses again. We came up against a nasty trap back there, and a hungry esobok that we never heard coming." He pointedly refrains from mentioning both those things occurred while he had the spell going.
He turns to the sorceress. "Amanteia? What do you have left?"

Raybin Butcher |

Ray nods, focuses his mind, and sends out a series of psychic threads that weave themselves over his eyes, sharpening his vision again. He makes a big production of switching places with Argus so he can check the door at the north end of the bridge and open it.
