"May I be damned. What on earth is happening?" says the dwarf.

He continues to wave his hands and his left forearm begins to shine with energy. A disk of energy can be seen next to his forearm. With the second hand, he reaches for his clan dagger.

Waiting for a weird figure to attack or say something. I've caster Shield Spell (1 action), pulled out dagger (1 action)

I assume this guy is the reason why the bees are crazy.

Giggett looks at the masked figures and calls out to him/her:

"What are you doing with that, you are scaring the bees. We just had to burn a whole bunch of them as they were attacking us out of fear."

I don't think he's agressive, from what you said, but if I have any reason to think he is, I change my action :)

I'm not sure that the guy is happy with what we've done to the bees...

Says Tamerius

King in Thorns slideshow!

Natsume is about to act, but--

Amora Arrives

--"Oh my, oh my! Don't any of you ever go into Nature? Just crack a smokestick and you'd be fine."
The person pulls her protective mask back, and you recognize Amora Kasillan, the cook.
"Bees are pacified by smoke. If they're swarming they will dissipate."
She waves her basic smoke-machinen.
Her head-to-toe suit of padded armor is obviously to protect her from the bees.
"I hope you're not stung too bad... come, come, come with me."
She leads the way to her little place, waving her smoke-can around if you ever come near a hive, but she is good at navigating the old orchard.
They are a lot of hives.

(if you wish to do something before going with her, please post that)

The Old Orchard

Amora invites you to her home.
It is a shack, but she has obviously had work done on it, and it is very clean inside, with comfortable silk cushions, among the more basic furniture.

She offering up remedies for any stings you might have suffered: "Some salve."

Then she serves a platter of delicious looking biscuits, covered in honey: "Harvested from the beehives!"

You notice that she kind of moves her platter around, without looking at it, and grabs a biscuit randomly, and starts munching on it.

"So... what do you wish to know?"

Male Dwarf Wizard 2 | Speed: 20' | HP: 26/26 | AC: 15 | Perception (T): +6 darkvision | F: +6 R: +5 W: +8 | Exploration Activity: ? | Status: | Hero Points: 1

Dragh seeing that it is Amora hidden in the armor hides his dagger and disperse any magic remaining around him. He follows her to the shack and accepts a biscuit.

"Can you tell us who and how served a potion of porridge to Bort? Did he get any special bowl or spoon?" asks interested dwarf.

Can I make a Nature check about these bees? I want to know if it's normal for them to attack on sight (for me, it isn't, but I don't know Pathfinder bees).

Giggett shows her arms and face:

"It doesn't hurt enough to be a nuisance, but they bite me severely. If you can calm the pain, it'd be much appreciated."

Giggett doesn't feel much such little pain, but she wants to see how Amora uses medicine. After all, we're looking for some 'doctor'. If she can ask Tamerius, she does it, as she's not exactly a good medic.

GM Wayfinder wrote:

If it's odd to me, maybe I can try to determine why? Sight issue maybe?

Individual bees don't attack on sight-- swarming bees generally are a little more aggressive. Of course, a good beekeeper generally keeps them from swarming in the first place...

Natsume, who figures Amora isn't casually picking a biscuit at random if one of them is poisoned, happily accepts a biscuit herself... though she does wait a minute before taking a second bite, presumably to talk and listen.

"Thanks much!" she grins.

King in Thorns slideshow!

At the house, Amora removes all her protections, which you imagine are for - or against - the bees.

Dragh realizes the biscuits are extremely good. Nice fresh cake, rather light, soaked in honey.

And Natsume enjoys her too.

Looking back at the attack, Giggett has the feeling that the bees were swarming and moving or doing something, and felt threatened when you walked right up to their tree.
But, maybe some Wolf-Summoner is also a Bee-Tamer? That is possible...

Amora hands some kind of balm, in a clay pot, to Giggett.
It calms the burns-- but does not really heal anything.
It seems that Amora is no medical expert.

Giggett asks Tamerius if he can heal the group a bit, with his kit.

As for her moving the platter around and such, Giggett does believe she might have some kind of blindness--
--but Dragh whispers: "She is taking her food at random, without looking at what she is selecting. I imagine it is a way to show us this is not poisoned food, since she is eating it without picking what to eat."

Amora looks at Bort, and nods: "About Bort, well, I imagine you checked his bowl? After his sad death, I told Delma that the kitchen should be closed immediately, just in case it was the food. I am sure that Bort’s death must be foul play because simple food poisoning doesn’t work that fast and isn’t as deadly. Besides, I pride myself on serving fresh food. And am careful while cooking. Anyhow, I had his bowl and what was left in it, kept for you.
I, of course, am the one who prepared the dessert, crushed turnips, with milk and butter, and sweetened with my honey.
Then Phinick plated it, dishing out the portions.
And Trin served it.
I do not think anyone else was in the kitchen at the time, even though I went out more than once to empty the slop bucket.
I hope this was not the dessert that killed him, but, it seems so... this is terrible! Terrible!"

She looks sad and hurt.
"People will no longer want to eat my desserts."

From her picture, she doesn't look local. What's her ethnicity, if I can determine it?

Giggett takes a concerned voice and articulate well every words:

"Amora, you'll understand that, considering your position, any information you have would be greatly appreciated. If you remember anything, maybe someone else in the kitchen than you, Phinick and Trin, we would love to know that."

Giggett takes a pause:

"Also, I'll have to ask you some questions:

- Do you live here alone?
- Sorry for this one, but how old are you?
- When you served the porridge, did you know it was for Bort or were you just asked to serve one porridge?
- Who brings the orders to you?
- Do you have a vegetable garden?
- Is it ok if we make a quick check of your house. We won't search, but just to see some details?"

"When Cooky went into the kitchen to say hello, did he tried the dishes? What happened when he was there?" asks Dragh

King in Thorns slideshow!

Amora seems from another continent, the mysterious Tian Xia.
She has nice silk cushions from that land too.

"No, as I said there was no one in the kitchen, that I saw. But I did go out now and then."
Looking at Dragh:
"Cooky...yes, he tasted the dishes. And we exchanged some comments. I prepared a meal for him, and he was off. Did not stay long. He was out just before we started serving the main dish."
Back to Giggett:
"Yes, I live alone, honey... why? You fancy me?
And, trust me, I am young enough to give you some excitement."

She smiles...

Then she answers the other questions:
"No, I did not know it was for Bort, I just prepared the porridge, and gave the pot to Phinick. I did not serve the porridges. As I said, he plated everything.
I am not even sure he knew which was for Bort, when he gave the plates to Trin.
But he could have known, or told her which was which... he might have, if he did give a bigger helping.
As for the orders, the waiters tell me how many people there are.
But, well, it's always the same number, except for the added visitors.
I get my vegetables from the farmers. Turnips mainly. Then the odd extra thing.
I make honey.
And, you can have a look around my... house."

She shows the small shack, which is basically one room.

There is a place to make honey outside.

Giggett winks to Amora:

"I like exotic dishes, but it's not the best moment for honey tasting."

Giggett looks around the shack. First, she searches for sources of light. If Amora has sight issues, she's certainly not using much of it.
Then Giggett looks at Amora cooking ingredients while speaking, trying to find some strange things:

"Amora..."

Giggett spoke a little bit louder to attract everyone's attention, and, looking closely at Amora's reaction, she continues:

"Have you ever heard of Violet Breath? Maybe this herb grows in your homeland?"

"Miss Amora, I hate to impose, but... do you happen to have any tea? It's been very long since I've spoken with someone from back East in more than passing, and I'd love to enjoy a cup with you while the others poke around!" grins Natsume.

King in Thorns slideshow!

Amora thinks for a second, and then answers Giggett: "I have heard of Violet Breath, but it is not a plant. That is a poison, which is said to be harvested from violet fungus. Which are some sort of dangerous mushroom, from the Underdark or whatever. Quite rare and expensive. I guess it can be find underground in many places."
She then smiles at Natsume:
"Why, of course dear... tea!"
Amora gets some water to boil and prepares tea.
Giggett can see there is not much of a kitchen here, just a small thing for herself.
The cakes she offered you must have been baked elsewhere, at the inn for example.
Soon the smell of black tea raises as she prepares bowls, that she offers to all, taking one herself.

After the last incident Tamerius don’t eat anything he has not prepared himself or his comrades, and politely refuse to eat or even the tea.
Thank you, but you can understand that after yesterday’s incident I avoid anything I’ve not prepared myself.

As she approach with the tea, he asks Have you seen anything out of place when preparing the meal? Do you know Bort personally?

You are still all a bit battered, at Amora's, but Tamerius knows that he can try to heal them again later.
Amora nods: "Yes, of course, I understand you are wary about eating things. These were baked before, and I am eating them too, but I understand.
No, I saw nothing special nor out of place while making the dinner yesterday.
And I don't really know Bort. I do not think anyone does here. I mean, we see him twice a year, when he passes through, and he always tells - err... told! - such beautiful stories."

Upon hearing Natsume's words, Amora blushes, and bows her head.

Giggett takes a cup of tea and blows on it for a minute, lost in her thoughts, then thanks Amora:

"Thank you, lady Amora, for your kindness. Do you happen to know any guardian of nature in the region? Druid, Ranger, anyone tending to wild animals and plants? Also, if by any chance you hear some strange rumor, don't hesitate to tell us. It's not sure to be of some help, but who knows."

Amora looks at Dragh: "Maybe you would like some mead? It is home-made honey-wine. Not that potent, but stronger than tea."

Turning to Giggett: "We have no such folk in town. As you might have heard, bad things befell the town some twenty years ago and we lost most of the population, and have never recovered. Just a couple hundred simple folk here now.
There are sometimes rangers who come through now and then..."

"Do you know if Violet Breath is used for another purpose than to create poison? Like in gardening? In crafting as a dye? Or any other usage that would make someone have it?"

Ask dwarf happy of drinking something that is not a tea. He looks through the window thinking that he should get a good night's sleep.

"I can take the early morning shift."

King in Thorns slideshow!

So, if Tamerius follows along with you, you go back to the wagons, and go to sleep in your wagon, in the Feedmill's courtyard.
You arrange guard duty-- and see that the caravan people are also sleeping all together - Cooky included, whose wagon you are in - in the same wagon, and doing guard duty.

As Dragh is on the early morning shift, just as he looks up to see the first light turning the sky blue over the roof of the barn, he sees, coming straight towards him, out of the fading darkness--

(Tamerius, tell me if you wish to do anything, or if you retire for the night)

Female Gnome (Umbral) | HP 38/38 | 1 Hero Point | Perception +7 (Darkvision); +8 against traps (Trapfinder); +11 against lies | AC 20 | Fort +7; Ref +10; Will +7 | Hands: Shortbow + Potion of Barkskin

One thing: we are sleeping in Cooky's wagon? Is Cooky asleep while I make my guard duty? I'd love to dive in his ingredients to search if he could have an unexpected one. But I do it only if I feel I can do it quite safely (I have a few hours of guard duty to see how he sleeps, and look around to check if the ingredients are easy to catch).

King in Thorns slideshow!

Cooky is not sleeping in his wagon anymore. He is sleeping in another wagon with all the people from the caravan. Who are doing their guard duty.

Giggett can spend pretty much whatever time she wants to look around... but does not find anything she feels is out of the ordinary.
However-- she is not a cook, not a professional one, so maybe something is amiss.

Tamerius can try to smell some of the things in Cooky's kitchen items.

You retire in the late afternoon, early evening. Thus, being tired, you eat a light dinner and go to sleep, tired, quite early.
So, when Dragh is on the last guard duty, you have all rested your 8 hours and regained health, and you will be able to make your daily preparations, which takes around 1 hour, before breakfast.

"Sorry Giggett and other I misjudged the situation. Tamli, I was not planning to knife you. I was thinking you were a treat sneaking to our wagon."

"And what exactly are you doing here Tamli especially at that early hour of the day sneaking around? And what were you using that flask for?"

King in Thorns slideshow!

Tamli shakes her rather sturdy butt: "I do not sneak around... I am simply a slender and discreet person."
She hands the flask to Dragh, who sees that is indeed a small empty glass vial with a simple cork.
"I went out to... gaze at the morning sun. And, err... relieve myself. The beautiful morning sun.
And I found this in the grass near that back door that leads from the dining part of the main room, to here and the stables.

Tamerius follows his comrades back to the inn to take a nap.

On Giggett's idea, Tamerius inspected Cooky's wagon, not convinced that the cook could be the culprit or that he will hide the ingredients of the poison in his wagon, but he preferred anyway to do it to be sure.

When Tamli came with the vial, Tamerius asks Can I smell it?

King in Thorns slideshow!

Tamli looks at Dragh: "Well, I am handing it to you, so... take it. Just don't knife me!"
Dragh sees that Tamli was in effect handing the flask to him.
Though Dragh's big nose would not fit inside, he does keep the flask at a distance.
Sniffing it, Dragh smells--
--traces of a floral-smelling liquid.
Although the vial is totally empty.
This does smell like the poison Tamerius had you check. Just a bit "stronger", in the sense that it must have been pure poison in here, not mixed with anything else.

Natsume arrives, yawning, and, seeing the situation, looks Tamli over, trying to tell whether Tamli's behavior is abnormal... is she being deceptive?

For Natsume:
You carefully study Tamli, and you see that she is somehow-- ashamed.
Of what you do not know, but she is ashamed of something.

A somewhat rested Tamerius arrives, and asks Dragh if he can smell the vial.

If Dragh hands it over:
Tamerius also smells the floral scent of the Violet Breath.

Giggett turns back at Tamli:

"Could you show us where you found it exactly?"

King in Thorns slideshow!

Welcome to the game!

Here we can start by discussing the party you will be creating.

Have a look at the Gameplay thread (and dot and DELETE if you wish, but do not post there yet).
This will tell you where the action starts.

You will be four players, and I will be your GM.
I will most probably be able to post several times per day regularly, but will post once every day for sure (early in the morning in European time).

This is a game in which you will be playing from levels 1 to 3 (and getting 12 XP of credit, thus one level in PFS).
I will be using the basic PFS rules (150 sp to start with), but since it is a campaign, I will see if we adapt things now and then, but in general I'll stick by default to PFS-style rules.

But you need not be Pathfinders, and there will be no Swords etc. training.

I think it's nice if you start by giving your character ideas so that you can organize and "meta" a bit to cover all skills, and not have two with the same Lores if you wish to diversify etc..

Feel free to PM me with what might be discreet questions.

I would like to be able to PM you during this campaign, for example with results of secret rolls etc., and sometimes avoid spoilers, so tell me if this is okay (and you'll keep an eye on the red dot up above, beside the MY ACCOUNT).

I have no problem with any kind of character.
But please do try and have someone who will be able to somehow function in a group for a relatively long time (ie. a psycopathic Chaotic Evil serial-killer would not be the best fit) so that we can all enjoy the game.

So, start telling me what you want to play. Or PM me.
See with your comrades to be how to change things around.
RP-wise I am open to many things, and you can be friends with the dwarven caravan master, can have worked with him, can be a paid traveler being transported towards some destination, hired as a mule driver for this journey, a Halfling slave fleeing Cheliax...

Let us enjoy this, I hope.

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

Happy to be a part of this! GM, you absolutely have my permission to blow up my inbox.

Thinking of playing a nomadic Fighter sort (is "human fighter" a little too cliche?), with a big ol' shield. Generally easygoing. Likes a good sparring match, food, company.

That said, if everyone else wants to go Martial, I'm happy to switch to something a little castier or maybe a Paladin!

King in Thorns slideshow!

Hello, and welcome!

Let us see what the others bring to the gaming table.

Either now, or when you start fleshing the character out, all can think of their possible ties to the dwarf you will be traveling (none needed).
What you are doing in the area etc..

Dark Archive

Thanks GM!

I'm ready to be a human cleric of Asmodeus with the Fire domain or a Druid with the animal companion.

Hello everyone!

I have a PFS character who will certainly get the 12 XPs of this adventure, so I was hoping to play her. The adventure would take place before she gets into the Society.

She's a Gnome Scoundrel Rogue who dabbles in magic. A people person, specialized in Charisma-based skills. Other than that, she's quite versatile and should be able to adapt to different parties and fill most gaps.
As for her personality: the bleaching has started for her and to fight it she jumps on any exciting opportunity. Adventure being one of the most thrilling experience you can live, she'll be the first to take off if anything happens. Although she's a bit weird at first glance, she can prove herself quite funny and pleasant when you get to know her!
Our DM already knows her, from a game we played together this week.

King in Thorns slideshow!

Hello you two!

So, we'd have a human fighter.
A gnome scoundrel rogue (skills/face) trying to alleviate boredom. On her way to Absalom to learn about the Pathfinders?
Another human but cleric of Asmodeus with the Fire domain or druid with animal companion.

So far seems to be no overlap or double-characters.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

If we get an arcane sort, we get the classic Fighter/Wizard/Cleric/Rogue party, even! ;)

If we get a Wizard, then :)

I would prefer to avoid having 2 Charisma-based characters as it's hard to have 2 party diplomats (especially if they have very different personalities). I would certainly switch if our fourth player is heading towards Bard or Sorcerer.

It's my first PbP on this forums and I don't know how to create my character, someone lends me a hand ?

King in Thorns slideshow!

So, this is a campaign-style game, and the character you are creating will not be used in other games, thus I think we can keep things simpler.

You can have a look at what the others are doing, like Natsume Ren's character sheet.
To see that, you simply click on the name above her avatar, and it will take you there.

First, of course, you have to probably create an Alias - unless you use the page linked to the character with the Paizo number.
Is that step of the process okay for you, or do you need more explanation?

Then, re. what info' to put down: in this case, as I said, you only need stuff for me and I trust you guys, so I do not need that much.
• the most important for me is a list of your skills noting which are Trained, Expert etc. and your bonuses, since that's what I will be looking at
• spells if you have them
• whatever special Feats you have
• and some equipment list
Basically, the things you imagine I might need to use from time to time.
Normally people put a lot, also to track your character when you move from game to game and GM to GM. As I said, in this case, since you'll only be playing this character (I mean, with these stats, skills, gear etc.) with me, it can be simpler.

Also you put things in the lines under your avatar (using the Race ; Class/Levels ; Gender entries) where you put things like your HP, AC etc..

Does someone have the links to the template for PF2 for what to put under the avatar?

Otherwise there is this:
LINK TO CLICK
That comes from here:
MAIN LINK

One thing: since what you can carry is more of an issue in PF2, and it is one of my quirks to always have loved to track encumbrance (sorry!), please keep track (for yourselves) of what you carry and if you are overburdened etc. (stuff like Healing Kits, Crafting Kits, Magic Books do weigh Bulk).

Envoy's Alliance

Prim Taldan Lady
Stats:
HP 41/41| 2/2 Focus Points | Spells slots: 3/3@lvl 1 ; 2/2@lvl 2 | 1/1 +1 Hero Point | Perc’ [Ex.] +10 ; Stealth [Un.] +0 ; Speed 25 ft. | AC 18 | Fort' [Ex.] +9 ; Ref' [Ex.] +8 ; Will [Ex.] +10
Active conditions: recovery check DC 9 + dying value |Godless Healing

Here is an example of what I put under my avatar.

And if you click on the name Milady, you will see my character sheet.

This is really made to move from game to game, and I track a lot of stuff (probably major overkill) so no need to do all that at all for me here.

Finally, I put in things like this--

+6 Perception (+1 Level +4 Expert +1 Wis)
[dice= Perception (Expert)]1d20+6[/dice

--all over, for my Skills and Saves and Attacks etc., simply because it saves me time and, mainly, enables me to copy/past when I am on my phone where it is more tedious for me to prepare the roll.

Do you know the main coding things for posting here?

[b]for BOLD[/b
[b]for Italics[/b
[spoiler=BLA BLA]bla bla[/spoiler
[dice=Axe, slashing]1d20+9[/dice

GM Wayfinder wrote:

I think it'll be usefull, too.

What if there are a few things I want to keep for myself? For example, my alignment is not written on my face. Can I just give this information to our beloved DM but keep it hidden for other players?
Well, as I intent to play a Rogue, I'll have a few things I'll prefer to keep secret, even if they won't have much relevance :)

Hey there, I will be the fourth horseman , however for 2 more days I am on vacation so I will post something when I am back. I am very excited to meet you all and to have am opportunity to play with you!

I heard your order to get a non charisma spell caster, I will try to deliver.

King in Thorns slideshow!

@Super Bidi:
Yes, as I said, this is a Campaign game, so the sheet will only be for me/us.
(since you start at level 0 and will go on up till you play at level 3)
It is not anything "official" to track your character.

So, just PM me the stuff you want to keep to yourself.
And just don't put it up on your sheet.

So, for an Alias.
Click on My Account (way up on top)
Then, to the left, the third "box" is MESSAGEBOARD ALIASES
You see at the bottom of that you have Create New Alias
Click that on go ahead
You can create a profile w. avatar etc., just that it is not linked to you Paizo number
So it is probably the best for here
Also, you can do Aliases for characters that change (some do an Alias for the Barbarian in rage ; or for a shapeshifting druid etc. ; to have one "normal" profile, and then one alias with the avatar of the animal if it is shapeshifting, and the new relevant info beside the avatar (Rage AC, HP etc.)

@Farol
No rush, I want to finish the game I am DMing before we get started for good here.
So take time to create the characters and discuss this.

Then we can move to RP introductions and meeting etc..

Then get started.

@SuperBidi If I make my cleric I will have some diplomacy even if it will not be a charisma based character.

Female Gnome (Umbral) | HP 38/38 | 1 Hero Point | Perception +7 (Darkvision); +8 against traps (Trapfinder); +11 against lies | AC 20 | Fort +7; Ref +10; Will +7 | Hands: Shortbow + Potion of Barkskin

Got it! Thanks!

I now have a stupid issue: It says Grand Archive next to my name and I don't see how to remove it...

I PM you my full character sheet right away.

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

Go to "My Account," scroll down to "Messageboard Aliases," and click "Edit" next to Giggett's name. Should be a bunch of options for Factions; set it to No Faction or None or whatever the option is there.

For whatever reason, there are like 3 different ways to edit the same Alias :P

Thanks.
Am I the only one to struggle that much with this forum? Because I'm now looking for how to send a private message to Eric and I don't manage to find it. I'm not lame usually when it comes to websites...

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

Some stuff is intuitive, some stuff is extremely not, and some stuff just comes with practice.

In this case, you need to click on his name so you open his profile, then click "Send Private Message" (which should be just under his name).

Nope. There's nothing under his name, neither on his profile or alias profile.

It's not only him, it's also the case for you.

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

Strange. I wonder why that would be-- I'm not seeing an option to send a message to you either. Maybe you never validated your e-mail or something like that?

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

Ah, found something-- if you go back to your account page and scroll down to "Privacy Settings," there's a box that says "Allow [something] to send me Private Messages." Is that unchecked?

I found it also. It was unchecked :)

So, I'm not lame, but I have no clue why it was unchecked.

No idea! Might be the case by default (as some people just sign up so they can order products), but I have no idea offhand.

Ilmakis wrote:

I missed your message.

Yes of course, no issue. It's just that Pathfinder adventures encourage complementarity between characters. When 2 characters have the same specialization it's less funny in my opinion. But it's not a problem when it's one's specialization and the other's secondary ability. You'll help me on Diplomacy checks, I'll help you on Religion ones. It's common knowledge that clerics of Asmodeus love to aid scoundrel rogues diplomacy checks ;)

Natsume Ren wrote:

There were also checkboxes about Paizo sending me advertisement emails, so I may have unchecked all boxes without reading them all.

Anyway, it's unchecked, but I have to wait for an administrator to validate it. I hope it'll be quick.

King in Thorns slideshow!

Also, you have not created a Profile for SuperBidi, maybe that is it? (or not)

Since:

Quote:
To send someone a private message, go to their profile page and click "Send Private Message."

The best is to add the names you want to correspond with to your address book.

Then you can send from there.

re. Diplomacy etc., that is up to you.
The only thing I think you should check is if you have all or most of the skills covered, so as to try and end up without missing Nature or Survival or Society or whatever, to at least have one person who can try rolling stuff.

King in Thorns slideshow!

By the way, since this is a Campaign, you can take:

• the Plaguestone Backgrounds

• and maybe some the Regional ones too (so long as it fits)

If there is something there you like, tell me.

Not a bad idea, especially in a smaller group. Bold is what I've got covered! Let me know what you've got and I'll update the list, or quote it and update it yourself.

Acrobatics
Arcana
Athletics
Crafting
Deception

Diplomacy
Intimidation
Lore (Forest)
Medicine
Nature
Occultism
Performance
Religion
Society
Stealth
Survival

Thievery

I'm trained in all skills but Arcana, Crafting, Medicine and Survival. At level 2, I'll be trained in all but Medicine and Survival. I think this part will be covered :)
But I won't be very good in Wisdom and Intelligence skills, just able to roll the die.

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

Bidi, any idea what Lore skill Giggett is trained in? This would be from her Background. (No worries if you haven't selected one yet.)

I have, but it's part of the things I prefer to keep for myself. I prefer all pieces of information related to roleplay and background to be acquired while playing.

Considering the presentation of the adventure, it should not be relevant anyway.

Human Cleric 3| HP 32/32 AC 16| F +7 R +6 W +11| Speed 25| Perception +9 | Focus 1/1 | Heros Point 1

I’m building my character but I will be good at Religion and I will have the deception and society skill at least.

Fair enough!

I'd expect our caster to have Arcana and if we have everything but Medicine we're likely in half-decent shape anyway.

As a player, Medicine can be quite important.
A good amount of Healing can come via Medicine...

GM Wayfinder wrote:

Not much at low level. Without Continual Recovery and Ward Medic, you can only heal one character for 10 minutes of rest for an average of 4.5hps (if you have 12 in Wisdom). And you'll need an hour to resume healing on this character. At that rate, you'd better go back in town and take a good night of sleep.

That's more HP than you'd have had without it! Always a bonus. If no one else has Medicine, I might swap something to pick it up. It's not out-of-character for a nomad-type to know how to stitch up their leg if it gets shanked by a highwayman or something, anyway.

King in Thorns slideshow!

Do as you guys wish, but with no alchemist, no Medicine skill, you are going to rely on the cleric for all healing?

And At that rate, you'd better go back in town and take a good night of sleep: this is not a PFS scenario, so you do not even know if there is a town to go to.

Sure we do! Etran's Folly is listed, like, in the name. I'm sure nothing bad will happen to it.

Right?

I was close to answer that, but back away as it's metagaming :)

Anyway, all skills are important. In my opinion, Medicine is more important if we meet poison or disease than for the small amount of hp it can help us get back. But it's always better to cover all skills.
Let's wait for our 2 companions to finish their characters and we will then decide if we change one of our skills or two. I really have a lot of them, so changing one of my skills for Medicine would be very easy for me.

I have a question: How do you handle fights? Do you use some kind of map or purely descriptive actions?

King in Thorns slideshow!

than for the small amount of hp it can help us get back
In my short experience as both player and GM, Medicine has healed a LOT more than anything else (and that is in PFS where people often start w. a couple free healing potions).

We use a map and minis, that will be in the slides.

I will start the introduction in the Gameplay.
Do not post yet, it is simply to not have it all come in one block, and to give you some info' if needed for your back story.

I'm eager to start :)

Ok I am back from my vacation and was working on the PC. I will go with a dwarf, I will have the profile ready probably tomorrow. I am experimenting with a few things atm.

BTW. In the middle of January I will be backpacking for 3 weeks during which I will not be able to post. I wanted to say it now as if you are fine botting me for such a long time I would love to play with you. If not I will present a baby-rage behaviour and step down making a spot for someone else.

King in Thorns slideshow!

I am sure we can manage.
Depending on where we are at, the best is to give you a side mission and then I'll reduce the difficulty of what you are up against to be good for 3 (or toss in some NPC you can use or whatever).

So...

• a Dwarf - what?
• human cleric of Asmodeus with Fire domain or the Druid with animal companion?
• a human fighter
• A gnome scoundrel rogue (skills/face)

A dwarf is already enough ;) I am working on a dwarf wizzard. the spec is still unknown, I lean towards Evocation. I am still working on the general feel of that PC

I agree with our DM, it's not a big deal. We all have lives and this may happen to anyone of us (the main reason why I'm starting PbP is the goblin that recently invaded mine).

PS : It looks like we have a Cleric of Asmodeus. Even before seeing his profile, I was pretty sure the face was not one of a noble servant of nature :D

Female Gnome (Umbral) | HP 38/38 | 1 Hero Point | Perception +7 (Darkvision); +8 against traps (Trapfinder); +11 against lies | AC 20 | Fort +7; Ref +10; Will +7 | Hands: Shortbow + Potion of Barkskin

By the way, how do I appear in the campaign players and characters?

Female Kitsune Champion | HP 45/45 | 1 Hero Point | 1/1 Focus Points | Perc’ +7 ; Stealth +7 ; Speed 20 ft. | AC 20 ; 22 w. Shield Raised | Fort' +9 ; Ref' +7; Will +7 | Active conditions:

A quick question for the group, then-- are we interested in getting a Discord together? Can be useful to coordinate things like expectations, ask quick questions of the GM without slowing down gameplay (should he join), etc.

King in Thorns slideshow!
Quote:

Maybe that's the face of the druid's animal companion?!

Quote:

You'll appear when you post in the Gameplay thread.

And then (if it is not yet the case) the game should appear in your "campaigns" page.
Like:
https://paizo.com/people/SuperBidi/campaigns (does that work?)
And you should also then see when someone has posted.

If you wish, you can start Giggett posting RP-wise in the Gameplay thread, to RP her meeting with the person who will most probably have her join the caravan.

When others have an idea of how they want to enter the game, tell me.

re. Discord, I do not mind following a thread there.
I only use it for specific things, and had not opened it in months.
My handle there is now:
GM Wayfinder #2515
I would probably answer questions here faster anyhow, since I mostly spend time typing away at my computer.
But I am fine with checking Discord if you guys like that medium.

I don't know much about Discord, I thought it was a software for chatting, but it looks like I may make a mistake.

I'm fine with using the forum here, and fine with using other ways if you prefer.
