Hey there! This will be my first PFS pbp, is there anything I need to be aware of that works differently, particularly with reporting/chronicle sheets? I know that Junko can't be active in any other scenarios until this one is finished, but past that I don't know what standard operating procedure is. Thanks!

And GM, are you sure Nowruz is coming?

![]() |

Oh no!

![]() |

Take your time. I don't think that we can start (officially anyway) assuming we want to remain part of Gameday VIII because of this.

![]() |

Good catch.

![]() |

Suspiciously well.... ;)
Natula should be 5th level by the time we begin. I'm just waiting for a chronicle sheet to make it official.

![]() |

Depending on how next weekend goes, Junko should be level 4 by then as well.

Hey Ratesh, did you want to trade spells? Natula's repertoire runs very destructive, but she has some helpful utility spells as well. Her spellbook's contents are listed on her character page.

The Night Before Game Day
With apologies to Clement Clarke Moore
'Twas the night before Game Day, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The minis on the mantle had been painted with care,
in hopes that St. Jacobs soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of adventure played on in their heads.
And Mama with her fighter, and my redeemed Darkfire Adept,
had just stolen into the lair of that false Razmiran sect.
When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like CW's Flash,
tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
gave the lustre of midday to objects below,
when, what to my wondering eyes should into view dance,
but a miniature sleigh and eight writers who freelance!
With a haggard editor, fresh from an all-nighter,
I knew in a moment it must be Wes Schneider!
More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
"Now Tim! Now Amber!
Now, Greg and Russell!
On, Richard! On, Nick!
On, John and Michael!
To the top of the porch!
To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away!
Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wind elemental fly,
when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky
so up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
with the sleigh full of gamer swag, and audio dramas too.
And then, craning my ear to the roof perpendicular
I could hear the heavy tread boots of each contributor.
As I drew in my head and was turning around,
down the chimney Young Wes came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fake fur, for they are not overfond
of that sort of thing in blue Washington's progressive Redmond.
A bundle of books he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddling librarian opening his pack.
His eyes--how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the beard on his chin was in need of a mow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He looked a bit high, and slightly less then regal,
but that's what you get in a State where pot is half-legal.
His character, a multi-class ninja, pirate, half-dinosaur elf,
its huge Hero Lab™ sheet made me laugh, in spite of myself.
With a wink of his eye and a flip of his thumb
he showed me the new archetype that was yet to come.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his editing work,
and corrected our character sheets, even Bill's the rules jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Game Day to all, and to all a good game night!"

Sure. I think my spellbook may have been wrong before, but I just updated it after re-reading the rules.
I could take Shatter and Scorching Ray. Not sure if I'm allowed to copy level 3 spells (since I can't cast them yet). If so Hydraulic Torrent and Fireball would be good.

![]() |

So to copy a spell from a written source you need to decipher it first. It just takes spellcraft check (which if you want you can Take 10 on since it's quiet right now) to understand the awesomeness of my spells. Now you might not be able to use them yet, but you can copy higher-level spells to your book so long as you can understand them. You still have to pay for the ink to transcribe them of course (0 level 5gp, 1st level 10gp, 2nd level 40gp, and 3rd level 90gp).
Looking over Ratesh's list, Natula's probably taking everything that isn't an opposition school (enchantment and necromancy). Maybe disrupt undead.
You might consider picking up hydraulic push as well. First Ratesh can use it right out of the box, it can be useful for putting out fires, and it's cheap! Maybe protection from evil too.

I'm scribbling down:
Disrupt undead - 5gp
Color spray - 10gp
Magic Weapon - 10gp
Monkey Fish - 10gp
Shocking Grasp - 10gp
True Strike - 10gp
Euphoric Cloud - 40gp
======================
Total cost - 95gp

I don’t think protection from evil is available to me.
I will scribe hydraulic push (10 gp), shatter (40), scorching Ray (40), fireball (90), and hydraulic torrent (90). Total 270 gp.

Posted in recruitment, but posting here too. If you want the extra help, I have this level 5.2 life oracle with an animal companion.

All good. We just had a death in the family last night, so I'm not sure if that means I'll be sitting around with lots of time to post and follow this, or zero time.
In any case, if I'm not that active through this weekend, please forgive me. I'm sure I'll be checking in from time to time at the minimum.

![]() |

That's awful Ratesh, I'm sorry to hear that. I'll be sending peace and courage to you and your family.

Sorry for the slow start, had a work situation come up. Will be better now.
No worries.

Oh, Konner and Shayna are the same player. They accidentally entered Shayna before realizing she's already in a game and replaced them with Konner.

So, you'll see lots of spoiler tags and hidden rolls. Sometimes I don't bother making everything private, but I love what I've seen so far with you folks taking your knowledge and bringing it out in character, so I'm going to keep going. I also tend to roll things like Stealth, Sense Motive, or Perception when I need to, and use a Take 10 on a lot of Knowledge skills just to decide who gets a particular piece of information. You should feel free to tell me when you want to roll those skills as well, but I sort of assume folks are curious and careful as they go. Hope that works for you - if not, let me know.

From my quick research on aiding another knowledge checks, it sounds like its GM discretion if they feel it would make sense to apply. On a strict reading, knowledge checks aren't one of the skills that mentions that you cannot aid another like use magic device, but that doesn't mean it makes sense for there always being a way to aid someone on it.

![]() |

Agreed. Sometimes (though not necessarily this time) it is impossible to confer on the subject of the check or aid in the research. Also, sometimes it is not possible to help particularly complex checks due to the difference in knowledge. For instance, while I took and remember much of my high school physics I doubt I could help an astrophysicist of Stephen Hawkins caliber on a problem revolving around black holes other than to say 'they are so dense that not even light can escape their gravity.'

![]() |

Makes sense! Until this game I'd always been the only caster so either way it'll be a nice change of pace to not be constantly failing those knowledge and spellcraft checks.

Has anyone had luck manipulating your token on the map using iOS? I keep getting an error that my browser (Chrome) is no longer supported.

I don't use Chrome, sorry.

Aww, man...

Anyone know if Natula's player is okay?
