Freyja f*&+s hob #1 right up. All four arrows slam into it and it is dead before it even fully realizes what's happening.
Hob #2 looks in shock at his suddenly dead friend, then rushes forward to the middle of the room. It throws two bombs at Sarge, both of which land as direct hits on Sarge's breastplate.
The first bomb explodes into a thick acrid cloud that immediately gets into the entire party's noses and mouths.

Aubrin and Grevayne are overwhelmed by the cloud and begin choking and dry-heaving (nauseated), unable to focus on anything else besides clearing this terrible substance from their systems.
The second bomb explodes with an impossibly loud report; Sarge's hands involuntarily go to cover his ears.
sarge fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
The concussive blast hurts him (12 sonic damage) but thankfully doesn't deafen him.
(The cloud from the stink bomb will dissipate in a round so I didn't bother putting it on the map.)

Both golems move to the center of the room and throw bombs at Sarge. The first seizes his muscles as electrical energy flows through him (25 electricity damage) and the second nearly freezes his limbs in place (25 cold damage). Some of each effect also hits Freyja, though only minimally (2 splash damage).

Freyja is very, very concerned about those golems. Grevayne and Aubrin are out of the fight, there is no way Trjega can penetrate their armor, and she only has four adamantine arrows.
But she's already proven she can take down a hob in a matter of seconds, so she concentrates on shifting the odds further in their favor.

Freyja's puts her first arrow directly into the hob's eye socket. The second hits it in the throat for good measure, and it falls. She turns her third and fourth shots on one of the golems, but both clang harmlessly off its armor.

Grevayne and Aubrin continue to heave and retch. It's pretty gross.
In an almost inexplicable turn of events (maybe these golems had really close bonds with their now extremely dead hob friends?), both golems make absolute asses of themselves, flailing their arms around in what might be construed as attempts to slam Sarge, but who can really be sure?

Activating Vindictive Smite against him. I thought the hit point damage had to have been done in the prior round, but as it turns out, it only says he can "smite one target who has dealt hit point damage to [him] or an ally." No actual time frame is listed. I would assume it would still logically only refer to the current battle, but RAW if they ever dealt Sarge damage he can smite them.

Freyja may be a one trick pony, but it's a pretty good trick. Only one of her arrows hits, but even despite its difficulty getting through the golem's armor, it does significant damage to it.

Grevayne breathes in deep and coughs, relieved to feel his nausea abate. "Thank you," he says to the cleric, then rushes into battle with the remaining golem, clambering over its dead friend to get into a flank and help out the sergeant.
He has no spells that can harm this thing, so he goes for a good old-fashioned punch--not that he can do much to this thing.
So he has those cold iron and adamantine rings and I don't remember if we came to an official consensus on this. There are no rules in the book for it but the flavor text of the archetype specifically calls out that iron-ring strikers will include cold iron, mithral, and adamantine rings in their handwraps to bypass various DR's. Are you good with that or are the rings just flavor? I'm fine either way.

Also... welcome to level 11!!
Yang Grevayne
Grevayne takes a few moments to catch his breath before turning to Freyja. "You were right to urge us to return last night. This fight could have been the death of one of us. Let us look around and see if there is anything useful before moving on."
Despite his recent bout of nausea and his ineffectualness during the fight, Grevayne feels invigorated. He even has ideas for a couple new spells. He makes a mental note to jot them down in his spellbook tonight before bed.
He moves to the east and checks out the alchemical equipment for anything of use.
Want a Perception check, or would a Craft (alchemy) check do the trick?
Sergeant Rainart Vargus
Sarge wipes Vergeltung with a filthy cloth from his belt before sheathing it. He hunkers down to look over the hob's body (he doubts golems would have any equipment of use) then begins scanning the perimeter of the room for anything of use.

No rolls necessary from Grevayne.
Grevayne finds a motherlode of alchemical equipment and supplies. 500gp worth of equipment and 2000gp worth of alchemical reagents (can sell them at value or use them for crafting).
Oh btw, if you had used any fire attacks in here, there was a 50% chance everything would explode XD
On the hobs, you find:
- 6x acid
- 6x alchemist's fire
- 4x smokestick
- 4x tanglefoot bag
- 6x unstable accelerant
- 2x +2 leather armor
- 2x eyes of the eagle
- 2x mwk short sword
- 2x wand of cure light wounds (40 charges each)
I'll save some time; the small room in the southeast is empty.
Sergeant Rainart Vargus
Sarge blinks in mild surprise when he feels the itchy healing magic pour over him. "Oh," he murmurs, as if only noticing his wounds for the first time. "Yes. Thank you." He hands Freyja one of the two wands he found, then gives the other to Aubrin. "A little healing for everyone, ya?"
Might as well have each of them with a wand.
He looks over the goggles, slipping them over his eyes and fiddling with the lenses before giving a pleased grunt. "Very useful. I hope no one objects to my taking one of these."
Snagging one of the pairs of eyes of the eagle.
Yang Grevayne
Once Sarge has been tended to, Grevayne stows the alchemical equipment and moves back outside. "That is one building down. Looks like... two more to go? Let us take care of the small one first."
He moves outside, then south across the small bridge, and up to the door of the small building south of the alchemy lab. He quickly sweeps his magical senses over the door, though he doubts he'll find anything--but no sense in not taking precautions.

The door is locked but it only takes a few seconds of fiddling for Freyja to pop it open (DC30 disable device, pffffft!).
Sarge pops the door open and finds a treasure trove. It looks like this may have been a simple one-room home before the Legion sacked Ecru, but now it has been converted to weapon and armor storage. You find the following:
- 6x mwk lamellar armor
- 4x mwk longsword
- 12x scimitar
- mwk composite longbow (+4 str) on an ornate silver stand (worth 100gp)
- 25 +2 abberation bane arrows
Nothing else interesting here.
Yang Grevayne
"The arrows are an odd choice," Grevayne mutters. "Perhaps they know something we do not? Freyja, best take these just in case." He hands the magic arrows to Freyja and briefly explains what they do. "We will take the rest of this with us on our way back. We have wiped out their alchemical supplies, but it could not hurt to take some of their armaments as well. Perhaps the militia can use these."
Putting them on the loot sheet, to the side. We'll see if Mayor Crawbert or Elise thinks they can use them for the city's defenses. What kind of lamellar armor is it? Leather, horn, steel, or iron?
Once that's been taken care of, he moves to the final building, then gives Sarge the nod once everyone has gathered.
Sergeant Rainart Vargus
Sarge gives the door a quick once-over before opening.
Perception: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34
Sure do like having a +21 Perception XD
GM Mike
The door is locked, but your GM forgot to tell you one of the bombardiers had the key, so you open it easily. Crates and barrels fill the entire southwestern edge of this circular stone building. A clean, acrid smell fills the room. There is what looks to be a well in the center of the room, but it is covered over with boards.
Yang Grevayne
Grevayne moves up cautiously to the well and looks it over curiously, sweeping his detect magic spell over the building as he moves.
Sergeant Rainart Vargus
Sarge moves toward the well, intent on checking it out for anything suspicious.
But I'm guessing the red blob on the map is going to interrupt that.
GM Mike
init: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
The red blob that was totally on the GM layer and hidden so you can't see it haha JUMPS OUT AND SURPRISES YOU EEK! Its miasmal form roils as barbed tentacles emerge from the central mass, coalescing into razor-sharp talons and claws.
Freyja init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Grevayne init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sarge init: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Aubrin init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
This is a weird thing called a mihstu. You know the drill.
ROUND 1

Trjega (76/76 hp)
Creature (0 damage)
Aubrin (47/47 hp)
Sarge (129/133 hp)
Grevayne (100/100 hp)
Bold may act.
Freyja Vildmark
"What is that thing?" Freyja has no idea, but it looks pissed.
She has finally perfected the new technique she has been practicing for faster drawing and nocking; she fires five godsdamn arrows at the thing.

The creature's swirling mass creates a strange, windy vortex around it, but Freyja's first four arrows have enough impetus to pierce it. They all hit the creature center mass, in almost exactly the same spot (oh how I love clustered shot). The creature screeches and flies across the room to assault Sarge with a weird windy tentacle. The tentacle hits Sarge but is unable to penetrate his armor.
You don't need to roll miss chance for melee attacks.
ROUND 1

Kn (planes): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
Of course one of his few remaining spells is electrical in nature. "Mihstu," he calls. "Something has it riled up. Avoid electricity, but if you have any frost magic, now is the time for it!"
Grevayne waves his good hand in an incantation, and a subtle field of warped fate surrounds him. He then steps up to the creature. He calls on the last of his specialized pool of arcane energy to infuse his fists with power.
Casting true strike, then 5ft step in to melee. As a swift action I'm using my last pool point to enhance the punchies with icy burst and elemental-bane.
Sergeant Rainart Vargus
Sarge has no such powers or magic, so he do what he do.
Power Attack and Combat Expertise on. Gonna make it a b%#~# to hit, but mostly he's just keeping its attention while Freyja goes ham on it.

He then steps to the side to provide Freyja with a better shot.
5ft step.
GM Mike
Grevayne assures that his next attack will be devastating, while Sarge's focus on defense restricts his range of motion, causing him to miss all three sword strikes.
Aubrin touches Freyja, bestowing touch of good.

Freyja Vildmark
Freyja feels Cayden Cailean's guiding hand. Her instinct is to resent it -- she doesn't need help! -- but Aubrin has proven how valuable His assistance can be time and again. Freyja relaxes and lets it happen.

The mihstu takes three more arrows to its body, such as it is. It seems to be having trouble holding its form as it roils and whirls.
It switches its attention to Grevayne. Four tentacles lash out at him. The first two destroy Grevayne's remaining images, and the third lands true (5 damage OH NOES). It tries to grab onto his wrist, but he wriggles away.

Not to be That Guy, but doesn't Freyja have to roll for concealment?
Seeing it divert its attention to Grevayne, Sarge tries to draw its attention back to himself with a slew of attacks.
Same deal. Really wish I had one more Vengeful Smite left.
