Yup, aid another is much more difficult now and with a critical failure can actually hinder it a small fraction. i.e. a critical failure gives the ally a -1 penalty
Time spent: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Total Time spent: 3 hours
Fumbus must be talking to the wrong people or folks just aren't comfortable speaking with goblins because he isn't able to hear much about the Ohrlavis twins.
Jelly does a small bit more research into the markings found on the golems. He learns the ritual markings are similar to runes used in the golem forges in Oenopion, and the knowledge of how to use these runes was stolen by discredited alchemists called the Ohrlavis.
Kyra picks up a bit more as she speaks around one of the local shops, showing off a letter seems to do the trick. She learns that alchemist siblings named the Ohrlavis have been looking to quietly sell off a folio of Pathfinder lore called the Open Road Pact. Kyra learns that the Ohrlavis haven’t been successful, however, as the work is so obscure to be considered a fake (or at least suspect).
Valeros flips through a few brochures on Oozes. He finds out that ooze-crafters in Nex operate out of the city of Oenopion and are rarer here in Quantium. Among the most notorious ooze-crafters in Quantium, however, are the Ohrlavi twins, who were disgraced and exiled from Oenopion.
Meresiel decides to dig a bit further into Igrigi Lokar, Sebnet’s former assistant. After nearly a half hour Meresiel is led right to Igrigi. Igrigi happily makes time for Meresiel over another meal at an upscale restaurant near the Bandeshar, the majestic palace that once served as the archmage Nex’s home and still functions as the nation’s seat of government. "Yes, I remember Bijan well enough. he had a sister I believe a...a twin named Zaynap. The man was a bit suspicious and near obsessive interest in ooze crafting. A bit off-putting if you ask me." He takes a few more bites before continuing talking. "I wouldn't put it past the twins to steal what they couldn't afford, though I don't know much about this Open Road Pact to tell you the truth. What I do remember is that it was filed near the material on Oozes. They may have accidentally grabbed it. Where did they work out of..." He taps his chin with a fork. "Ah, yes they were based out of an Apothecary shop called the Wistful Cures."
| Valeros by S |
Valeros gives a small frown over finding out that he'd missed a chance at a fancy dinner (with some possibly fancy drink as well), but seems happy at the extra information. "Ah, that's good to find out. I just found that the twins have been banished from Oenopion, the head ooze-crafter city, apparently they are so notorious here that they earn a mention, but explicitly do not include an address or contact information."
He hitches up his backpack, double checks the new patches on his pants and checks his sword and shield. "Alright, I'm ready to go hunt down a pair of disreputable, thieving, ooze-crafting twins. Anyone else?"
Kyra aka Uktar pregen
|
"Lead on, my friends. Perhaps we can shine Sarenrae's wisdom into the dark souls of these misguided twins and lead them back to her light...or just knock the stuffing out of them and take back what they stole. Hey, any of you know anything about oozes? Are they susceptible to fire? What kind of defensive and offensive abilities do they have? It might be a good idea to pick up a useful item or two before we go."

You locate the Shop across town. Wishful Cures was an apothecary shop near the docks of Quantium. Although the shop did brisk business for many decades, its owner died suddenly almost 8 years ago, the victim of an esoteric yet lethal curse. Legal entanglements have left the building unclaimed ever since. The shop’s facade has been defaced with graffiti, its windows are all broken, and its wares are plainly plundered.
The shop’s door is bolted shut.

Once inside Meresiel is able to unlock the bolted door, letting everyone else inside safely.
The shop has obviously not been used in some time as nearly every item in it has either been looted or broken. Behind the shop’s wooden counter is a trapdoor. The trapdoor’s hinges are well-oiled and show signs of regular use. It leads to the shop’s stone-lined basement
The basement of Wishful Cures is a jumble of boxes and crates, most of them left ajar, and heaps of yellowed papers and dried herbs scattered across the floor. The air contains a sour, chemical smell emanating from an opening in the far wall of the closet to the south.
New map is up.

Valeros takes a nozzle from both sides as the acid flows right down into his armor. Jelly feels a burning sensation go across his back while Amiri shields her eyes from the worst of it all.
A couple other actions you can perform here. Thievery (Expert) on the fountain can disable the fountain. Thievery (Expert on the individual nozzle can disable that specific nozzle. Keep in mind it is 2 actions to disable a device as well and for these you must have expert proficiency.
The broken crates and acid make this room quite perilous. Entire room is difficult terrain.

@Valeros- Persistent damage does not stack.
Meresiel begins to work on the fountain and ends up dropping some of her tools in the process. Meanwhile Kyra tries to heal everyone she can to keep up with the acidic bursts.
Funbus attempts to disable one of the nozzles as he holds a loose stone against it. In his goblin mind, this should work. Amiri backs out of the room, completely avoiding the nozzles before they spray again. Seeing Amiri flee Valeros grabs ahold of those coattails and follows her back up.
Jelly on the other hand flees in the opposite direction, hiding behind a small wall.
With fewer targets in the room the nozzles continue to empty the fountain little by little.

He gives a small sigh and tries to hop across the rapidly melting boards in the acid to save his shoes before ending up on the other side of the room.
Three move actions to get to the other side with Jelly.
