Welcome! It is my pleasure to serve as your gamemaster and guide you on a fun and dangerous adventure. Thank you for joining me here!

Please read the following rules as they apply to my games. By completing the mustering questions, you agree to abide by these rules.

1. If you are color blind or have any other issue that will affect your experience with play-by-post play and use of GoogleDocs slides, let me know, publicly or via PM.

2. Bullying of either your fellow players or me, your GM, is not allowed.

3. I expect posts within 24 hours of an actionable post by me. E.g. combat rounds.

4. Please let me know either in PM or in the Discussion thread if you will have a prolonged absence. And if you have an emergency, please let me know as soon as reasonably possible that 1) you had an emergency that kept you away and 2) that you are (or are not) OK. I actually do worry about my players when they vanish.

5. I no longer bot characters for absent players. After 24 hours of inactivity, the character goes on indefinite delay.

6. The exception to #4 is if you tell me ahead of time that you will be gone (or as soon as reasonably possible in the case of emergencies). However, my botting will be bare bones. You may also proactively arrange with another player to bot you during anticipated absences, but they must also agree to it.

7. I perform resource checks (also known as character audits). The details will be posted separately, but you must be prepared to demonstrate proof of ownership of any and all resources that you use for your character at any time (in an online format).

I'm waiting on my scenario drops. Don't fear, though. I'll buy it if it doesn't drop.

Make a ghost post (post a post and then immediately delete it--don't forget to confirm the deletion) with your PC's alias. Then I can remove your player alias from the PC list.

I have some unfortunate news. I regret to inform you all that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.

This would place our new dates for Gameday at: 09 Sept 2019 - 17 Nov 2019

WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?

As most of you are aware, the majority of the GM’s have not received their scenario support for the Convention to include a good portion of the Specials. With Tonya occupied by other duties this weekend, we realized as a team that we are very unlikely to see the remainder of scenario support drop by Monday the 26th. Multiple avenues were discussed and what seems to be the best solution is to push Gameday back by two weeks. This will allow enough time for the GM’s to receive their scenarios and prep them.

BUT WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE OUR SCENARIOS, CAN WE START THEM?

Please hold off until the new start date to be able to eligible for your boon rewards. I understand this is a large inconvenience, we are doing everything we can to make this work. Part of that is to have everyone one the same start / end times rather than scattered.

We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but we want all our GMs to have a chance to shine.

HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?

Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well as the Gameday VIII Announcement page.

I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.

GM, could I ask for your ruling on a place the rules appear a little unclear? If Delea initiates telepathic communication with someone, can she hear a brief answer from them, even if they are not a telepathic race? Most GMs interpret the rules to allow this, but I realize it's a bit grey as the rules are now written.

Also, Rozzicheep's player has my permission to bot my character, including using spells and consumables if necessary, if I don't post for a while. Real life is very complicated right now.

Does this scenario have the starship tag? If so, I might also slot a starship boon.

They can respond, but it does not grant telepathy to anyone else. I.e. other non-telepathic people engaged in the conversation cannot hear the mental responses of their non-telepathic companions.

Given that comm units have texting capabilities--and I have no reason to believe they can't group text like my cell phone--and can broadcast within the group. I'm not going to ride that too closely, especially for standard races, unless someone without limited telepathy is trying to take advantage of a situation where they shouldn't.

E.g. If Delena was engaged in negotiations with an alien (distracted/concentrating) and someone saw a danger coming, they couldn't 'think at her' to warn her silently and without obviously trying to get her attention.

FYI, I will be at a local con over the weekend, so my posting will be limited. I will try to get in updates by phone when I can, but any longer posts may have to wait until late night or early mornings.

I'm very sorry, everyone, but I just can't wrap my mind around the zero gravity rules right now due to a big real world mess that is hitting a crisis point right now. I've taken my main action, but if someone could bot whatever motion or check there is in terms of zero gravity, I'd really appreciate it.

Delea's position has been updated. It'll be another round until some action will be needed (and Delea can heal if necessary).

Focus on real life and know that this, at least, is covered.

Tchisk discovered that he has, unfortunately, already played the Beacon Code Dilemma on Tchisk. Given that we are in the final encounter, he must, unfortunately, cede from the table.

I will enact 4-player adjustment going forward.
