The rest of the cave system is littered with stolen shovels...and not much else. It looks like the mites haven't been very successful in their mining endeavor.
There are no clues in the cave about the Mosquito Witch, either her whereabouts or her nature.
When you emerge from the cave, it seems that the fleeing mitflits have kept their promises: The air around the cave entrance is blessedly clear of mosquitoes, and the forest is quiet. For the first time since your arrival, there is no buzzing of winged parasites.
Though you haven't found the enigmatic Mosquito Witch, you have discovered the source of the insects plaguing the town--and the likely cause of at least some of the disappearances.
Mystery still abounds in Shimmerford, however. When you return to the White Fish and Stag, the tavern-keeper informs you that Quintus Chevunier has disappeared, leaving all of his gear behind. Mordha Lyons remains tormented by her missing memories, and magnetic disturbances still hamper navigation in the forest outside of town.
Like so many other cryptic hunters, you haven't been able to capture the legendary Mosquito Witch. You have learned enough to improve life in the town and, likely, to reignite the tourist industry in town.
You've also saved several wayward adventures from terrible fates: Haru and Peaches thank you for helping them, though they quickly set off again in search of an inscrutable goal. You're able to get magical healing for Andor, the man from the pond, when you return to Tymon. And don't forget the people you rescued from the carriage!
Venture-Captain Smine congratulates you in his usual terse manner. "Good work. Sounds like quite the mystery."
Congrats! You made the primary and secondary objectives! 4 Fame and 4 Reputation for your currently slotted faction.

Excellent scenario! I'm surprised we didn't actually find the witch, but I assume there'll be a followup scenario where we'll get the chance to take him/her down! :)

Here are the chronicle sheets. Please let me know if I made any mistakes.
I think that the end of the scenario is trying to be a satisfying resolution while maintaining some mystery about the Mosquito Witch.
