Weed leads the party down the stairs which end after about a 30' descent, emptying into a 20x20 foot room with brick walls. At the far end of the room is a single iron bound door, in front of which stand two heavily armed and armored men standing idly and a plain wooden desk. Behind the desk is a third, lightly armored, man sitting in a large chair. On the desk is a strongbox and what looks like a thick ledger or journal.

Weed rushes in but has his blade blocked by the man's shield, who Dardanius detects as evil. Dardanius fires a quick shot at the lightly armored man who nimbly moves aside, and drops into a flanking crouch on Weed yelling-It's them; the red-head fits the description exactly! Tarvoth casts a spell to help the party during the fray. Turran joins his friend on the armored man to the left, but his scimitar can't find an opening.

Dardanius launches two arrows into the foe and a scimitar slice from Turran takes him down. Tarvoth summons a serpent which signficantly stings the lightly armored enemy and a wheeling Weed whacks him down with his greatsword. The remaining foe, seeing things going extremely poorly, pushes past Tarvoth and Dardanius, sprinting up the stairs to the street.

Cast Daze on the guard, DC 12 Will


Sorry Tarvoth, not sure how I read serpent; I would have altered my alliteration in the post. Turran, casting daze is a standard action. The guard double moved during the last round and is up the stairs and out of sight/range of your spell; pick some other action.

Tarvoth directs the ANT in front of the iron-bound door and grabs the ledger off of the desk. Dardanius looks through the drawers of the desk and triggers a trap of exploding powder!

DC 20 REF save to avoid powder completely; if REF save is failed DC 15 FORT save or be blinded for rounds: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8, making the save results in you being dazzled for the same number of rounds.

Weed impulsively chases the fleeing guard who turns and attacks as the door finishes opening.

DC 20 Weed only perception:
You can see the legs of several people behind the opening door.

Weed-Trying to close the door will be a next round action and will require either a full round action 'to hit' on the lever to get it starting to close (it will be open at the beginning of the next round). Dardanius takes the contents of the desk. Seeing Tarvoth blinded, Dardanius puts himself between Tarvoth and the stairs. Not sure how long the stairs were: does the remainder of the party hear Weed's battle?


Current round:

Dardanius avoided the blast of powder and explored the contents of the desk drawer.

Tarvoth did not avoid the blast of powder and is blinded for 8 rounds. He can still take an action and his ant is blocking/guarding the door.

Turran needs an action from last round (if any) and this current round. He is not in the blast radius of the blinding powder.

Weed is about 40' away from the rest of the party at the top of a flight of stairs fighting a guard as the secret door finishes opening.

So need an update on Tarvoth/Turran to move forward. If Turran doesn't post today I'll bot him and we can advance to the next round.

Next round:

Dardanius moves in between the blinded Tarvoth and the stairs. A DC 15 perception will allow him to hear the sounds of Weed fighting for his life at the top of the stairs.

Weed gets to defend and attack against the foe(s?) at the top of the stairs.
