I have a rules question already. :)

Quinn has this ability: (similar to other characters)

At the end (□ or start) of your turn, you may examine the top card of your location.

If the checkbox is checked, the "or" is effectively an "and" - right? I can examine my location both at the start and end of my turn?

Thanks.

Anyway, looking forward to the game and playing with everyone.

Yep, once you have that power feat, you can use it both at the start and at the end of your turn, if you choose to do so.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for signing up for my Fangwood Thieves table for Cards Against Gnomanity 2! As is usual for my ACG tables, we will be using Google Hangouts to facilitate game discussion. I will probably be setting that up in the next few days and sending you all a Paizo PM with a link to join the group.

If you're looking for a method to track your deck/hand while we play, yewstance has posted an upgraded version of the Google Sheets deck handler that many of us have been using for a while - you can find that sheet here, just click File->Make A Copy, and you should be able to get started.

If you need any help at all with anything, please let me know, and I will be more than willing to give you a hand.

Just so you are aware, I will be mostly unavailable the days leading up to CAG. I hope to be able to check in still, but I'm not sure how much I will be able to do so. We'll be able to start on June 21, but it might be later in the day (EST). Fangwood Thieves has 4 scenarios total, so it will be a little tight to complete within the one month that CAG runs, but we'll continue on afterwards to complete it if we need to.

I'm looking forward to running this adventure, and I hope you all have fun playing!

Mark/MorkXII.

STR d6 | DEX d6 | CON d6 | INT d10 (Disable +1; Know +2) | WIS d8 (Percep +2) | CHA d6 (Diplo +2) Deck handler

By the way, I intentionally selected Quinn for a short adventure because I'm not sure how viable he would be in a longer OP adventure path. His base deck is Ultimate Equipment, but a fair number of the stealth/acrobatics Finesse weapons in UE require weapon proficiency - which he doesn't have. Also, the designers seem to want him to be an Alchemist, but his power of automatically passing recharge checks on Alchemical cards would seem to rarely come into play in OP.

Anyway, Quinn will still be fun to play in OP for a few scenarios. And he could be awesome in non-OP Crimson Throne, which is his home set.

Quinn's barrier-busting power is awesome, and might help overcome any shortfall in combat. I'd have to look closer, but I think he'd do ok in OP.

Please check your PMs for the link to the Google Hangout. Thanks!

Per hangouts request, here's the list of Core cards that I'll be swapping into my starting deck: Caltrops, Burglar, Leather Armor, Standard Bearer, Thieves' Tools, Rapier, Sage's Journal.

I mostly chose the Rogue class deck to have access to Masterwork Tools as a B item upgrade, but it turns out it has tons of Core equivalents as well.

Dotting for Alahazrah. Using the UM add on, so 3 blessings of the spellbound and chronicler, plus core cure, detect magic and flame staff.

Not the Standard Bearer, it turns out. It's level 1.

@wkover - has there been official clarification that Quinn can use a class deck as well as UE? While it makes a lot of sense to do so, Quinn isn't technically from the Ultimate Add-On deck, so the way the rules are written in the PACS Guide don't actually cover this case.

I agree 100% that it makes sense to treat Quinn as if he were from UE, but I haven't been able to track down any clarification on this. I've been looking because I'm playing Quinn in a Curse table, and would definitely like to be able to add some cards from another deck to the mix. Still, at least I finally get a chance to use my Investigator's Lamp!

Mark hasn't said anything, so I take his silence to be tacit approval. :)

Quinn definitely gets less interesting in OP if he can only use UE.

Shadow Lodge

That's my feeling, too.

Somebody else pointed out to me that unlocked characters (Jirelle with the Rogue deck, Mavaro with assorted decks, ...) get treated pretty much as if they are part of the deck they are allowed to use, so it makes sense to treat Quinn as if he were part of UE.

I'm going to go ahead and add a rogue deck to my Quinn, too, and see whether Yewstance says anything.

Spoiler:

During This Scenario: WBH-1B: Chicken Run
Danger: Blasted Chicken
Villain: None
Henchmen: None
This scenario has two acts, Act 1 and Act 2. In both acts, you may not move on your move step. After you defeat a bane or acquire a boon, you may move. When you move, you may move only to an adjacent location.
Act 1: When Shiny Longshanks is defeated, display the story bane Blasted Chicken next to the scenario. At the end of the turn, if Shiny Longshanks was defeated using a combat check, display the Proxy A at the rightmost location; otherwise banish it and display Proxy B at the rightmost location. Then begin Act 2.
Act 2: At the start of your turn, each character must succeed at a Constitution, Fortitude, Stealth, or Survival 5 check or suffer the scourge Entangled. Then if a Proxy A is displayed at your location, suffer 1 Combat damage; if Proxy B is displayed at your location, add 1 to your checks against banes this turn. Then display the proxy at the rightmost occupied location.
After a character encounters a non-summoned bane, any number of other characters may summon and encounter it.
In the reset step of any turn in which you did not move, you may reset and remove 1 of your scourges.
When the proxy is displayed at the leftmost location, you win.

Ok so question on the part that says: In the reset step of any turn in which you did not move, you may reset and remove 1 of your scourges.

So this means I can reset and remove the entangled scourge on someone else's turn, right?

And finally, I'd like to double check resetting for this as I think our in-person gaming group has been doing this wrong for years....

If I reset on someone else's turn per above instructions, does that mean the entire Reset step? Ie discard down to hand size or (optionally more) then draw back up?
