Stepping in, Ursahla delivers a shot to the ears to the still blinded woman. (Remember that CMD suffers the same penalties as AC when blinded.)

Zaarah attacks with her intelligent Black Blade Scimitar.

In case Zaarah is attacked she uses 'Opportune Parry' and parries by expending an AoO to parry and spends a panache point (so if the attack roll of tshe opponent is lower than Zaarah's parry then the opponent does not hit and Zaarah could potentially reposte)

In case Zaarah successfully parries she uses 'Reposte' as an immediate action to attack the opponent that attacked her.

Flames wash over the dwarven paladin but she flinches not as her powerful arms drives Slitherbane in a wide arc to slam once more into the golem.

Her stone armor glows slightly red from the wash of heat but fades after a time.

Faerin, taking the full brunt of the fireball, presses on bringing down Slitherbane heavily into the chest of the glass golem, shattering it into so many shards...

Skirting the puddle of grease left by Ridley's bombs, Taurus closes on the treacherous woman and violently shows her the back of his hand.

Continue rage. Punch for nonlethal. Fighting defensively to bump my DR to 9/-.

Hats and Taurus make moves towards Chalos but Taurus gets there first and pounds the half-Elf into submission....

Blinded and deaf, as well as beaten to a pulp, she yells out, ”Enough...ENOUGH! I yield...”

Just after Chalos Visanda surrenders, a curious thing happens...while Hats approaches her, you notice that the Ossirian nemes he’s holding starts to glow...and at the same time, so does the Yamada Osa painting on the wall...

Hats murmurs, ”What in the nine he...” and then POOF, he’s gone with the headdress falling to the floor where he stood...

”Can one of you please use my wand on me?“ Zaarah asks out of breath.

With combat over, Ridley will approach Taurus and use his wand to stop the barbarian's bleeding.

Hats! Where'd he go? Hey you, trecherous Onyx Alliance lady- where'd hats go!?

As he speaks, Ridley will pull out his Lantern of Auras and shine it on the picture, attempting to identify the magic in the painting.

"Chalos will regain her senses soon. Let's tie her up so that we can question her."

As Ridley concentrates on the picture, Ridley will fumble through his pouch with his free hand, eventually retrieving a pair of manacles and a lock, which he tosses to Ursahla.

Good idea... these are probably a bit better than rope...

Faerin holds up her own wand of healing as well.

"I require much aid and if someone can tell where our friend hats has gone, it'll be much appreciated."

Zaarah, you only need one charge to stop the bleeding. You and Faerin can save your charges as this is the last combat encounter...

Although you surmise that something set off the nemes' teleportation magic, you have no idea where Hats was sent...

You bind Chalos and she eventually gets her sight and hearing back. For a prisoner, she is very vocal. "Well, you might as well take me back to the Grand Lodge for judgment...this failure will end my use to the Onyx Alliance and I have no intention of staying here in Shadow Absalom. At least I was able to outsmart the Blakros Museum in pilfering that headdress..."

When asked about Hats, she blinks. "I have no idea... I wasn't aware the hat could teleport you accidentally...perhaps it interacted with the magic in the painting..."

Are you really that smart if you got caught? Why'd ya betray the Pathfinders? Hopefully something a little more interesting than money.

Zaarah just shakes her head.

”Maybe this is something similar to the Hao Jin Tapestry?! Hats could be in there now. We should take this to the Grand Lodge before we return it to the Blakros... “

She also casts detect magic and examines the painting.

Chalos shrugs. "I was smart enough it took over a year before I was found out...and it wasn't about money as much as boredom...the Onyx Alliance recognized my skills and let me put them to good use..."

Zaarah detects a faint magical aura upon the painting...but the unsettling depiction of the distant Tian Xia landscape defies all further attempts at study...

Just a note to let you know that the current location of Hats is beyond the scope of this scenario...

I was definitely pondering tossing on the headdress and standing in front of the painting, but that seems like a good way to get a character removed from the campaign :D

With all the missing items now collected, and with a prisoner in tow, you head to the Glare to transport back to the Blakros Museum. The wax golem follows, still thinking he's king and still thinking he's off to slay a linnorm...

Once within the Glare, you get the same tingly feeling you had when Hamaria transported you to Shadow Absalom. You find Hamaria pacing back and forth awaiting your return, with Nigel Aldain nearby inventorying other items...

Hamaria jumps slightly at the abruptness of your return. She looks you over see the wax golem along with the items you're carrying. "Looks like you got all of the missing items...most excellent! Nigel, dear, please come take care of the recovered items..."

Turning back to you, looking eager, she says, "Pray tell, how did you find the items? Who took them? And who is this woman you have bound?"

"We have returned and with more questions despite finding your missing items........" Faerin trails off as she looks at her companions.

If no one else tells the story, Faerin will report everything

Hamaria Blakros listens to Faerin's account with keen interest. She shows obvious concern when she hears of Sarnia Blakros and the Onxy Alliances' recent change in leadership. The Blakros matriarch is clearly stunned by the news that some of the sacrificed daughters may still be alive, let alone the implications of Sarnia's newly fetchling-like appearance.

Hamaria ponders for a moment before speaking. "I thank you for your assistance to us in recovering our lost items; you will be rewarded. For now, I ask that you keep the information about Sarnia to yourselves and your leadership within the Society..."

Nigel comes over to collect the items. "I appreciate your service, as well as your discreteness, in this matter. You will always be welcome here at the Blakros Museum."

You leave the museum to head back to the Grand Lodge and report to Ambrus Valsin. Without interrupting, Valsin takes in your report and promises to deliver it back to the Decemvirate member who first tasked you with this mission. Ambrus does take a moment to ponder the gravity of Sarnia Blakros’s recent coup within the Onyx Alliance and whether or not her claim to the Blakros family fortune has any true validity. Though unwilling to pass judgment one way or another, Valsin inquires on your opinions about whether or not the Society should involve itself in the growing conflict between the Blakros family and the Onyx Alliance.

PRIMARY SUCCESS CONDITIONS
The PCs fulfill their primary goal if they recover all four of the missing items and return them to the Blakros museum. Doing so earns each PC 1 Prestige Point. SUCCESS!

SECONDARY SUCCESS CONDITIONS
A PC fulfills their secondary objective if they accomplished at least two of the following:
1. Found enough evidence on all four of the inventory items to dispute Nigel’s assessment (YES)
2. Avoided combat while contacting Drandle Dreng (NO)
3. Avoided combat in the Soul Stalls (YES)
4. Successfully convinced Hats to accompany the PCs with the Nemes of the Cerulean Pharaoh. (YES)
Doing so earns each each PC 1 additional Prestige Point. SUCCESS!

Zaraah thinks for a moment.

"I really don't like Nigel and believe that he is an idiot. The Blakros also do not seem to be a very nice family. I mean family means that you have to be close! Trust each other! I am a Katsu! I have many siblings and would give my life for them! So I cannot understand what these two organizations are actually fighting for but ... but I know that this clash might lead to many valuable and informative items being destroyed! And I am a Scarab Sage and want to preserve knowledge and learn from the past ... so if we can smooth out the confrontation or even act as a mediator that would be great ... " Zaarah says while walking nervously through the room.

"I believe that the society should meditate between the two. Even though I disagree with how the Blakos family has sold their own. Further bloodshed can be avoided. Even more so if the society is complicit in this."
