Welcome to the game! This space is for OOC discussion and planning.
Sorry for the delay, I was working late. Looks like the ball's rolling!
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
I'll move you to Scrivening tomorrow.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
So, I'll be moving you to Club Enrolment Day soon, since there is not much more to be done in this class. There are three clubs that are relevant to the story: Music, Artificing and the Multi-Faith Pantheon Club. However, Anita wanted to be part of a newsletter club, so I see the following options:
- There is no Newsletter Club yet, or they don't accept first-year students.
- There is a Newsletter Club, but it doesn't have any relevant gameplay activity.
- There is a Newsletter Club, and I'm going to write some way in which they can contribute to gameplay.
The first two are the simplest, but they would restrict your choices a bit. If you can put up with some original, amateurish creation, going for the third one is not a problem at all for me. So just tell me what you'd prefer.
I'm actually fine with any of these options, Anita would probably default to Music if not in the newsletter.
If you feel like stretching those creative muscles then go for it! I'm think the world has more flavor if the newsletter at least exists, but we don't need it to be anything more than background fluff.
Female Tiefling INACTIVE
Hireath has no interest in the newsletter, but personally I like options 2 or 3. Which one depends on the GM, given the extra time/effort involved with writing them in. It’s not a problem at all for there to be a club with no effect on gameplay. (If anything it’s slightly more “realistic.”) But if you have the time and a neat idea, making the newsletter relevant would be cool as well.

I'll leave that option to Anita and you. Vern isn't really interested in a newsletter....
I'd like either Music or the Artificing club. Not really interested in the other club. Sounds like religion. ??
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
I'll try to think up some gampelay effects for the newsletter, then, I have the stub of an idea already. I'll update tomorrow.
Female Tiefling INACTIVE
Hireath is most interested in the artificing club, but could be talked into the Multi-Faith Pantheon Club if no one else wants to join it.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
Two small notices: the Newsletter is fully functional, even though it's a bit different from the others, and no club is mandatory for success, although they can all possibly give some advantages.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
To the games I'm GM-ing: I'm out of town and dealing with an university test, so my updates will likely be more sparse than usual. Things will get back to normal as soon as possible.
No problem! I'm actually sick myself, so just resting will be nice.

No problem. Take whatever time you need. RL always trumps a game!
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
I should have time to update again starting tomorrow, thanks for your understanding,
Oh no! Kobolds! I might have to scoop them all up and give them hugs.

They’re just lucky there is a rule against fire. :p

Is there a rule against killing non-students in the library?
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
There is no such rule. Killing in self-defense will be admissible, but know that there are some creatures in the Library that are well above the recommended CR.
In this case, if you attacked these kobold guards, tradition would require me to ask you if you are sure you want to do that.

Good thing fire isn’t allowed then!

@GM: In case it wasn't clear, I'm waiting to see if the kobolds have anything to say to either Hireath's or Anita's last comments before picking a new direction.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
Ah, really sorry, I missed that. Updating now.
Sorry, I'm taking a day away. This morning I got the news that one of my coworkers died of a heart attack. We were kind of friends so I'm going to take the evening to collect my thoughts. Be safe.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
I'm sorry, that sounds horrible. Please take the time you need.
For the mechanism: there are no numbers on the dials, but they can rotate about 180°. It's easy to divide the range in "low", "medium" and "high" settings. Are you trying low ETHICS and high MORALS as Vernon suggested, the opposite, or any other combination?

Anita's pretty angry right now, she might say things that could cause conflict between our characters. Hireath, that ok with you?
Female Tiefling INACTIVE
Fine with me, but thanks for asking :)
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
Just to confirm, are you going with Anita's plan (Vernon and Lindaer go to class, Hireath looks for Leonard and asks for copper, Anita goes to the shops)? Lessons and a trip to the shops will take a full block of time, while if Hireath manages to get to Leonard she will have time to do something more (being late at the lesson, going to the shops, a trip to the Library, or something else).
Female Tiefling INACTIVE
Hireath is fine with that plan. I left the conversation somewhat open-ended because she could also help Anita at the shops, but I think looking for Leonard is probably the better move.
Female Tiefling INACTIVE
Hireath can carry her supplies and up to 50 pounds of copper as a heavy load.

Fun fact: D&D 5e is more stingy with its level 1 money and equipment than Pathfinder. So collecting this amount of money was supposed to be harder for you, and I missed that as I was balancing. Yay for Paizo, I guess.

Just a notice that I have busy days ahead of me, so updates will be irregular, but I'm still here and reading your attempts at getting the book. I'll see if I can manage to roll for random encounters later today, but if I don't be assured that I'll be back in swing soon. Ish.

Sorry for my lack of posting. I'm with family in Iowa until Saturday and have poor Internet access. I'll try to keep up but will be posting from my phone.

Back! I'll get caught up reading and see what I can post. Did we get a book while I was gone? ;)

I'll make a post soon, I'm having more RL hectic days but they should smooth over soon.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
I'm pretty sure you have only one book right now.
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
Once again, I have to apologise, I sort of lost notice of this game. I'll see if I can squeeze a post in tomorrow, but in any case if I disappear don't hesitate to drop me a line here or via PM. Chances are I just got distracted or RL got on the way.

While I'm having fun, things have gotten more busy for me as well. The game has always been a bit slow, but recently that's increased quite a bit. I admit I've been slow on my end due to IRL reasons and with my new job, things are going to stay that way for a while.
So here's my proposal: We've gotten our first book! We've made it, at least for now. We could fast forward to the end of the week, and I think, the campaign? Finish the game right, rather than let it peter off into oblivion. I had some ideas of what I wanted to happen, but I'm happy to get a resolution to our short adventure.
If we want to keep going, I'm perfectly fine with that, but this is probably our best opportunity to finish things. So I figure it's good to at least put it on the table, so to speak.
Do we want to keep going, or work together to cook up an ending?

That sounds like a fair approach to me. It’s a fun campaign, but the worst that could happen is a slow death like so many others.
Weapon Master 5 | HP 35/44 | AC 19/FF:17/T:12 | Fort:+9/Ref:+6/Will:+6 | Init:+2 | Perc+11 | Status: 3 points Wisdom damage
Ditto. I hate ending any game, but that would at least be ending with a successful completion. That'd be a first for me on this board.... (sad but true)
Note: If we can continue that would be preferable. We might get a second book!?! And if we happen to get all three we could enjoy the bidding from the other teams!
Back from holidays! Business should resume shortly.
I would like to finish this game. It's meant to be a short module (and it has been made easier by the fact that starting wealth in D&D 5e is wildly lower than in Pathfinder) and you have, indeed, already found a book.
However, I must also face the fact that I'm not currently in the absolute best mind state for running my three current games (I recently graduated and on the hunt for a PhD). For some reason, this game is the one that suffered most from this slowdown.
There is material enough to finish this game, and I'd really like to: if you can deal with random slowdowns on my side I can promise that I'm not going to disappear completely.
And of course we can also wrap most of this up. I'll leave it up to you.
Female Tiefling INACTIVE
I'd like to try to continue if we can. I think as long as we all expect the occasional slowdown it should be fine. However, if at any point our GM, (or one of the players), feels they can't continue then we have the fast-forward option.

Agree, continue! I check this everyday except on weekends I occasionally miss. If it continues slow I'm fine with that!

To the games I'm GM-ing: I'm starting my holidays, which involve juggling myself between several family houses and a trip. I'll be more spotty (even more than I've been lately) until the first weeks of January.
