I think the tactics we pursued last time were fine. There are a few adjustments I would make based on what we know now that we didn't then:
1. Some additional protection spells for softer members of the party: Tayse could afford to cast more Barkskin than she did. Darby needs some additional protection as well. We aren't used to environments with that many arrows flying around. He could consider using Sanctuary or Entropic Shield on himself. It's also possible that Shield Other on Carson is wrong for this fight.
Does anyone other than Carson have an Amulet of Natural Armor? It was embarrassing to mess up on Barkskin the other night.
2. We know a lot better which of the enemies to target now. As long as they don't fill Darby with a bunch of holes and we go in with better party AC, I don't think the tower is actually that big of a deal. My targeting priority would be the alchemist followed by the pile of Rangers. (Melee priority is obviously whoever we can reach)
3. Darkness is too much for this party to handle under our current build & levels. If they use it again, we can try to snipe a few more shots off, but we basically just have to run away. We could try to target the rogue that used it last time instead of the alchemist, but it doesn't feel likely that we could take her out before she uses Darkness, assuming that she has access to it.

I do like the idea of improving overall Party Armor class. I do or would like to try having Ghorsi and I hold the top off the stairs. Arras could target the rogue or alchemist. This would also be a good time to use consumables such as the stink bags. The entangle would be less effective though if that's where I and the bear were but would still be extremely useful in case of retreat. Perhaps even using it so that the tree can try to get some of them.

If we want to go all-in on this fight still, we could do something like:
* Tayse uses spell-slot Magic Missile instead of wand charges for more damage (this somewhat sacrifices our ability to run away, but we're talking about going all-in). She only has two more L1 spells, but that's another 2d4+2 guaranteed damage. Alternately, Tayse could save just one for Entangle.
* Arras spends a move action on his next turn to study this guy before he starts rapid shotting again.
* Darby forces a big heal of some sort on Tahlas and probably falls prone to (hopefully) not be taken out by the watchtower archers
* Tahlas swings full out. It's dangerous, but the damage he does is worth a lot here. Probably he should back up 5' as well. The bugbear's current location is awkward for Ghorsi to reinforce from if we get that far.
* Ghorsi is busy killing the alchemist, so we'll have to see what happens there. If Ghorsi can't take that guy out fairly quickly, I'll be embarrassed, but hopefully he can get into the bugbear fight soon.
If I'm honest, I'd expect this plan to take out Tahlas (hopefully not dead though!), but he may make it a turn or two before he goes down. The bubear is scary enough that he might take out Ghorsi too. In theory, that buys enough time for Tayse and Arras to bring the guy down.
It also leaves us with the problem of the watchtower archers. They aren't a BIG threat, but they'll be annoying to take out given how low on resources we are. Tahlas can use one of the bows that are littering the ground, so that's something.
The big upside to going all-in is that if we do win it all, all of these named goblinoids are dead. The non-named ones will be replaced by army reinforcements no matter what we do, but the named guys matter. We also get to loot the place if we win, which...probably runs into carrying capacity problems but there's a good chance we'll be able to lift most of the magic equipment.
It would help if we knew what the bugbear's AC was. Tom, can we see what kind of armor he's wearing?

Edit: some follow-up thoughts. I implied it above, but it's good to say so explicitly. If we don't beat the whole camp and have to run away, a lot of these named guys might survive. Besides the wererat, I don't think we executed any of them out of the margin for error. Not sure how Tom would resolve that.
Also, if Tahlas wants to split the difference on his attacks, he could fight defensively for 2 more AC. If the bugbear's AC is in the range that we can hit it reasonably, Tahlas might still have an OK chance to hit even with -4.

So, a little change of plans. We'll go ahead and have you level up to 5 before this fight that'll get your EXP to lv5. Spend your gold and upgrade your gear and stuff. And pick any daily spells "knowing" this fight is coming.
The setup for this fight is that you're at your cave-base when Farrow runs in with an arrow embedded in the backside of his shoulder and small cuts and bruises on his arms and face from running wildly through the forest. He warns that a seemingly well-coordinated team of 5 members is on it's way to the cave and should arrive in roughly 30 minutes as Aubrin & Rhyna rushes to his aid. Farrow continues saying the oddest thing about them is that they don't show to be affiliated with the legion.
Everyone turns to you awaiting you directions of what to do. You are now welcome to come up with a plan. Do you go out and try to meet them on the way? Darby: mostly you need a 2nd level spell slot, used for Masterwork Transformation. The duration is instantaneous, so basically nothing undoes it. Armor is changed to masterwork for the material component cost of 150g (as if you had purchased the armor normally). If that's what we want, we can pay for an expense like that easily.
If that is what we're doing, however, you might want to consider a slightly heavier armor. I remember that you wanted to keep your speed and we don't have easy access to mithral in this campaign. The only downside to this armor upgrade would be increased weight (which might slow you down if you are near your weight limit) and suffering -1 ACP. You'd get another point of armor class out of it though.
Additionally, we've already found some nice chain shirts during the campaign. Just searching through this thread, I see two located +1 Chain Shirts and a masterwork chain shirt that would still be available if it turns out that Jameson and Arras took both of the others.
If you want to stay with studded leather armor, we also found a +1 Spiked Studded Leather outfit. I think Arris might be wearing that one, but I'm not sure. The spikes add a good bit to the weight, so it also might be unattractive in that dimension.

There isn't a whole lot to say since we're resting. Tayse was 9 hp down when the session ended and Ghorsi was 21 hp down. I'm assuming we had enough channeling from Chris to fix all of that.
Tayse didn't use any consumable items during the last session.
