I would have Ratrod, but apparently got my chance taken away from me to do the boost when we were at 1200. That was a quick transition but I guess instead we still have another round to go.
Smek Skytower
|
Agreed, the race sounds fun and starts pretty cool... But the mechanics run down fast... At this point if we use the booster, we can't loose. If we boost and fail the roll we go 600 (300 doubled) or 1200... Boost that ship! :)
Alejandro Carlos
|
We can't lose anyway. I would have used the booster at the 1200 mark but that driving check round got skipped or botted for some reason. The booster guaranteed a doubling of speed for 1 round and the only downside occurs the next round when it gives a 50% chance to half speed.
And for the next piloting check I rolled a 20 and we are in range of the finish line so I'm just waiting for the GM to finish the race up.
| GM Ietsuna |
Sorry Alejandro, I missed the boost or something. I am not sure exactly what happened. The race mechanic was a little more hectic than I thought.
Laboni crosses the finish line in first place. As Ratrod crosses the line after her she walks up to the ysoki and extends a hand, apologizing for the offense. Ratrod grudgingly accepts the apology and all seems to be headed toward a peaceful resolution.
Her business with Ratrod concluded Laboni comes back to the pits and your team. Thank you for your assistance. I could not have done it without you. Here, take this portion of the prize money. It is only fair. She hand you 400 credits and a set of graphite second skin armour.
As you leave the pits a group of ysoki are coming to see Laboni. You overhear the start of their conversation and they seem to be offering her a slot in the race's regular circuit.
Onward to the Dataphiles
The Lorespire Complex, home and heart of the Starfinder Society, is a striking campus dedicated to knowledge. Communal labs and historical departments study the Archives’ massive collection of artifacts and texts, gathered by generations of agents from across the galaxy. A quick search of the directory indicates Historia-7 frequents the Archives’ Cortex, a computerized matrix containing digital records of the Starfinder Society’s most prominent discoveries.
The android reclines on a raised chair and is plugged into the local infosphere when the doors open. The neural cables detach themselves from her neck as she swivels in her seat to address the new arrivals. Greetings, Starfinders, she says calmly. I am Historia-7. If you are seeking a mission from me, please be aware that my request requires both discretion and speed. Do not accept it if you feel incapable of working within these parameters.
I discovered someone recently hacked into Bluerise Tower’s computer systems and stole a large amount of sensitive data from the resident corporations. I wish to be privy to this information. I managed to trace the hacker’s location through many proxies and erased the trail so that station and corporate security should be delayed in their pursuit. This deception will not fool them for long, so you must move quickly to retrieve the data before they can recover it. I will leave you to decide what to do with the hacker afterward, but should it be feasible, I believe that person would be an asset to the Society.

Retcon for Exo-guardians
The Exo-Guardians do not currently have a headquarters on Absalom Station, but their leader, Zigvigix (LG host shirren soldier), resides in the poor but trendy neighborhood of Downlow.
Garbage litters the ground around the district’s largest art park—a cement lot filled with undulating metal sculptures and covered in graffiti of grotesquely adorable creatures. The sounds of music and chatter drift over from the nearby clubs, chronically interrupted by the roar of the local gangsters’ engines. A heavily augmented host shirren is sitting on one of the park benches, eating a simple meal of cold grub-noodles and rice candy. Their antennae perk up at the tremor of approaching footsteps. Welcome, new Starfinders! And congratulations! the shirren’s voice telepathically projects. My speech-name is Zigvigix, but feel free to call me Ziggy, if that would be easier for you. Have some rice candy to celebrate your graduation! Today is your big day!
When you are ready, I have two assignments I could use assistance with. The first is to help me secure a new headquarters on Absalom Station. I’ve been in talks with our station’s protectors, the Stewards, and they were kind enough to give us ownership of a warehouse here in Downlow for that purpose! The current owners no longer want it because a vicious alien took it over and kills anyone who goes inside. Once the alien is gone and the warehouse cargo has been returned to its owners, we can start installing desks and computers, so please go in and incinerate the creature!
My second assignment... Zigvigix twitches their tooth barbs for a moment and then holds out a credstick. Please buy the brand-new Strawberry Machine Cake album, Star Sugar Heartlove!!!, which is out today, and give it to Historia-7 when you see her. She is the head of the Dataphiles, so you should meet her today! I wish to do it myself, but I... I have trouble standing for long periods of time. Thank you very much!

"Oh, hi Ziggy!" Rudrua says as she shakes his hand. "OOh-ah, which one do you want us to do first?"
Alejandro Carlos

Alejandro suggests an answer with a smile, "well, it would make sense to manage the warehouse. One wouldn't want to give a gift with teeth marks on it."
He offers his hand as well in greeting, "do you know anything about the creature? Is it a 'people go in and nothing comes out' or something a bit more?"
Also, no worries about the race. I was running through how I would try to run it and there aren't really any good ways to do so without massive GM effort. We won, tis all good!
| GM Ietsuna |
The establishment of a new office for the Exo-Guardians is obviously a priority. However Historia-7 has seemed down since Historia-6 was lost in the Scoured Star incident. I find that sugar-pop music makes me feel better, and I hope it will do the same for her. The warehouse is priority one, but please, if you have time, get the album for Historia-7.

"I'm sure we can do both without any trouble. What do you know of the alien that's taken up residence within the warehouse?"
| GM Ietsuna |
We believe the creature is a feather stalker, a predator far more unpleasant than its name implies. As far as the Stewards have been able to piece together, a two-bit crime lord illegally imported the creature, and the beast promptly ate him. I have a holorecordings of the incident taken off the station’s security cameras With a few quick commands to their datapad the holorecording springs up.
Those who wish to watch the holorecording can attempt a Life Science check to determine the abilities of the creature

Smek watches the Shirren's reactions, "Zigvigix, if there are copies, would you like one for yourself? It really wouldn't be a bother, and funds are not a concern. " Smek waits for a response, watching carefully.
After viewing the holo, "Feathered Stalker... An interesting species. Obviously predator and territorial, species identification isn't my specialty," turning to Zigvigiz, "Should it be taken alive?"
Alejandro Carlos
|
Alejandro's eyebrows raise and he taps his tazer, "Good thought Smek. So let's say we could take it alive. Would there be a nice market for said creature? Possibly an additional payoff?" He reassures the VC with a smile, "which I'm sure some of which would go nicely towards repairs of your new base."
| GM Ietsuna |
Feather Stalkers are large aborations. They have adaptive defenses which means they are resistant to one type of damage and it changes between specimens. They also have adaptive offense so they have demonstrated a strange variety of offensive abilities. One offensive ability all show is a ranged attack with its feathered appendages.

You don't need a key. The locks were broken by the fracas so station security have erected a force bubble around the building. Tell them I sent you and they will let you pass.
You travel down to the warehouse and they do indeed let you through.
I have added a map to the slides. See slide 4 for details. Also when you are ready to enter please give me 2 separate perception checks. The first to look around the warehouse for minor useful items, the second to look around for the stalker. You may choose not to roll either of these if you like.
