Botamo |

oh wow! I might be able to get a new crystal or a new armor...

Kush the Kish |

Thanks, Thrym-who-speaks-with-the-spirits-of-Credits!
Question for our kind GM... are we limited to our level + something for the purchases, or simply money?
Level 5 spell gems are 10.600 but level 14, so it seems to high to purchase @ level 11 (even w. Chronicles in SFS).
Was thinking of Raise Dead (and Reanimate... but not needed for RD S2, right? Not a pure construct, raise dead would work?).

GM Nefreet |

42094 credits
Pretty close to what the Chronicle grants, too!
Can you use Level 5 spell gems?

SRO's have. Healing Circuit
In addition to being constructs and thus able to benefit from spells like make whole, SROs count as living creatures for the purposes of magic healing effects that work on living creatures, though the number of Hit Points restored in such cases is halved. A character must use the Engineering skill to perform the tasks of the Medicine skill on SROs. SROs also heal naturally over time as living creatures do, and can benefit from magic or technology that can bring constructs back from the dead, as well as effects that normally can’t (such as raise dead).
So raise dead does works.

GM Nefreet |

Let's go with Character Level+2 for item purchases.
More generous than the average Society game, but nothing bonkers like 18th level consumables.
If you can use 5th-level spell gems (I don't actually know the rules on that), I'll allow beneficial spells like Raise Dead and such.

Botamo |

I upgraded my crystal to give me another D6 on the strike and upgraded my suspension so I'm now moving at 50'. I've got about 6000 credits left so any suggestions on what to get would be nice.

Kush the Kish |

Spell gems:
• these spells are on my class’s spell list, which is needed to use the gem
• I have a high enough key ability score (Wisdom) to cast the spell (also needed)
• since a 5th level spell gem’s item level is 14, and thus higher than my caster level, I must spend the full casting time of the spell, then roll a caster level check with a DC equal to the spell gem’s item level + 1 (15) or fail to cast the spell.
My CL check is +12 right now, and will most probably be +13, so I would fail on a 1 (or 2 if I do not boost my CL).
Also, if you fail to cast a spell from a spell gem, the spell remains within the gem and you can attempt to use it again.
So, if our GM is as generous as stated--
If you can use 5th-level spell gems I'll allow beneficial spells like Raise Dead and such.
--Kush would purchase:
• one Raise Dead spell gem (lvl 5, for 10600 Cr.), plus 5000 Cr. of components that will be used for "casting this spell requires you to create a complex representation of the target deceased creature, worth at least 5,000 credits"• one Aeon Stone, Pearly White Spindle for 25000 Cr. (to boost my CL by another 1).
Thus: 42094 credits - 10600 - 5000 - 25000
Leaving 1494 Cr. (if no one needs the left over, to be able to purchase something, I will buy some lvl 1 & 2 spell gems).
So, if the GM says this is okay (no problem if not, I just thought a Raise Dead would probably not be used, but be nice if it is needed!) say if anyone needs the measly 1494 Cr..

Kush the Kish |

@Botamo: I have not checked anything for you, but, just in case, an amber aeon stone can always help a bit...

Botamo |

does that amber aeon stone stack with my current DR?
Ardee was wanting me to give him my 6k for a new gun so which is a better party investment?

Kush the Kish |

I'd say the new gun.
No, the DR does not stake.
It was just for a 1 energy damage reduction which is not much but if nothing else to spend.

Kush the Kish |

Kush is always level headed.
Aye, ready to go.

Botamo |

Should be all updated now, are you able to change the title of the thread or are we staring another?

GM Nefreet |

It'll be this one, since it's the same group. Will update when I get access to a computer.

I will be good to go tomorrow

I am going to be abroad for about a week.
Quite sure I won't have Internet problems, but--
--if I go AWOL for a bit then it will be that.

With the Democratic Debate in a couple hours and my Star Wars tickets right after I probably won't get a post up until tomorrow morning.
May the Democratic Force be with us!

Kush the Kish |

Thus, by default, must we understand you were not as amazed by the Democratic Debate?!

GM Nefreet |

I watched the first hour and a half, just enough time to catch Buttigieg retort Warren on Campaign Donations. That made me absolutely laugh out loud.

Kush the Kish |

Which NPC was eliminated?

GM Nefreet |

The Ring of Fangs was recently removed from the Additional Resources list. Many players, including myself, have characters built around "biting" that utilized that ring to either grant themselves a bite attack, or increase their existing bite damage.
A large number of us asked for a rebuild, and Thursty opted to just grant us a 325 credit refund. It's a bit of a smack in the face, but for some characters who are now 10th level (mine was only 5th, but still), they're really unplayable.
It stings for me personally since I encounter the inspiration for my character every day, and now it just serves as a reminder for the whole ordeal.
Adding even more background, I was very involved in the eventual FAQ that cleared up how the ring interacted with other natural attack options, so to go from successfully solving a persistent argument to then having the focus of that discussion eliminated just piles on the disappointment.

Kush the Kish |

Yes, those rules changes are bad.
But, wow:
It stings for me personally since I encounter the inspiration for my character every day,

Kush the Kish |

Wishing any and all who celebrate, a Merry Christmas and Hanukkah Sameach!

GM Nefreet |

Probably going to be taking the next couple days off from online activities. Replace zoning out in front of the computer with zoning out in front of a vat of eggnog ^_^

Beware what lies within the vat!
Enjoy...

Kush the Kish |

have mostly moved on to Pathfinder 2
I really like Starfinder, but I converted to PF2 with a lot of the tabletop crew where I play, both in town and in the countryside, mainly because I really love the 3 Action rules (very simple and clear).

![]() |

agreed, Starfinder is great but I can't help but get the feeling that its a glorified beta test for PF2(whether that was Paizo's intention or not). So far I'm really impressed with PF2 and how ti seems to be designed to give the GM control but still be simple. Just waiting for a bit more content but I hear thats coming this summer.

GM Nefreet |

Thrym's masterful GMing of PFS2 might be swaying me as well ^_^
GMing two PFS2 slots at next month's Convention (DunDraCon), and only GMing one SFS.
If you haven't yet looked at the Chronicle for this Book, I'll just say that it has a reward this group should especially enjoy.

Kush the Kish |

Oooh?! Chronicle chronicle!
Yes, I really enjoy GMing PF2.

![]() |

I'm not enjoying PFS2 as much because the system seems weighted slightly against the players, with the understanding the GM should be customizing things on the fly and PFS's inability to flub numbers or raise or lower stats on the fly makes it kinda grueling as a player IMO.

@Kush: One of the Dwarves dealt 2 points of Constitution damage to you, lowering your maximum Stamina by 11.
Thanks!
I thought it was something like that, but forgot about that extra de-buff.Weakened, made uglier, and glued to the floor... LIFE IN THE FAST LANE!

![]() |

Just to be clear, that was not an upset/sulk/table-flip moment; I was planning to eventually destroy it anyway (since there was no *way* that Thrym would countenance taking it home with him!), and it seemed like an appropriately stylish way to do it.
I had just originally hoped to get a little more mileage out of it, first ;-)

GM Nefreet |

Ironically, after this map there's essentially a two-mile chase that the fighter jet can't really partake in anyways, and then you're (ideally) at the Bridge.

GM Nefreet |

My brain keeps glossing over trying to read these chase rules and environments, but I just realized...
Does nobody have Piloting?

Kush the Kish |

Not I.

Robotic Droid Series-2 |

Negative

Botamo |

Wasn't that Shanzi's job?

GM Nefreet |

Yep. Just realizing that now.
Okay. Will post a new map tonight. You basically just can't escape them tailing you, and will have a combat waiting for you at the final grav station.

Kush the Kish |

When do we level up to 12?
In the closet-- or later?

Kush the Kish |

DING!
Okay, leveled up.
I need to sleep... to get:
Dreams of the Future (12th Level)
Your dreams often contain vague visions of your immediate future, and they allow you to gain a bit of an edge in certain situations when these dreams rush to the forefront of your consciousness without warning. Each day after you wake from an 8-hour rest, choose ability checks, saving throws, or skill checks; twice per day, you can reroll a roll of the type you chose for that day.
I added:
+10 SP
+6 HP
+1 RP
(other things like extra spells etc. I added but nothing important)
And:
Channel Bond (Su) - 12th Level
When you use healing channel as a standard action, you can heal an ally linked by your telepathic bond class feature as if you were touching that ally, as long as the ally is within 120 feet. When you use healing channel as a full action, it heals all allies linked by your telepathic bond class feature within 120 feet (as well as all other allies within 30 feet).

GM Nefreet |

Just checking in with everybody. Let me know when you're levelled and ready to go ^_^

Robotic Droid Series-2 |

finished leveling.
