Sorry if I gave you guys any false hope with the last two engineering spoilers. I was trying to feed you some of the backstory intended for the GM and techno-babble a justification for why you've got to use the droid's battery. Scenario as written -- you've got to use the droid's battery.
On the plus side, congrats for solving the puzzle.

No false hope. I was just super happy to roll above the DC that's all!
In a home run scenario, I imagine PC's being able to open the doors on many ways.

![]() |

Guys, given that GM gave a chance to reconsider opening the doors I will leave it to you.
Given the funny angle, I think we will spend some time shooting the turret. I was thinking that using the bridge we might be able to disable it using computers or better, reconfigure it to not target us but only other beings. However, obviously, there is a risk of skeletons stepping out of closets ;)
So if you have strong opinions on the topic, say now and I will let Hellih be stopped from opening the doors.

therealthom |

I guess I could have ruled that you get covered in flesh eating maggots and still open the door, but it seems only be natural to stopp and contemplate your new circumstances.
The angle is terrible for both you and the turret.
I think you should split the party. Half rush the turret; half charge the bridge. :-)

For some reason I felt really bad about the larvae attack, but you all just missed the perception roll to see them in the corpses. If you had seen them, Steev's life science roll would have been enough to head off the threat. As it is Hellih and Patterson are worm food.

Sorry guys, I should have mentioned that I'd run combat without strict regard for iniative order before starting the combat. I have been impressed with the time savings vis a vis strict iniative order in play by post games, and it seems fairly common practice now.
It does lead to occasions like this where Hermena has had a flurry of actions, but on the other hand, now she will have to wait for everyone else. And again, there's less waiting overall.

Thanks, Farol. I appreciate the heads up.

Everyone, when we started this game I didn't think it would take this long and my vacation has snuck up on me. I leave Wednesday July 4th, and will probably be packing the night of July 3rd. Communication is unsure for the following two weeks. I doubt we'll be able to finish before I leave, even if we double our pace.
As some of you may already know , a few weeks ago Paizo requested that all games currently in progress be reported so they could have a snapshot of current activity. I believe the deadline is the end of the month. I've been loathe to report because the remainder of the scenario can have very highly variable results.
The Paizo announcement said there was a mechanism for correcting chronicles if the game ended differently from the early report.
I also don't want to hold your characters hostage while I while away my leisure time.
What I propose is to report the game to date and issue chronicle sheets to that effect, then to issue corrected sheets if needed when we finish.
The decision affects us all, so I'd be happy to hear your views.

Works for me, I also won’t be able to post until tomorrow night since I have a test to study for

therealthom |

I'm back. The second half of vacation left me largely unable to post. It looks like I should be steady for this week, but work is always apt to surprise.
Looking over your posts this round, yikes. The dice roller treated you very poorly. Let's hope it compensates next round.
Oh, and before I left I double checked. Paizo wanted results for in progress games posted by Aug 1. We have a little time. I'll still plan to report and issue chronicles a little early.

![]() |

FYI I will be travelling from Wed through Sun this week. I may or may not have much time to check in on the game. If you need to bot me to keep the pace moving, please do so,
Thanks!

I will be traveling from Wednesday evening to July 28th with little to no internet access. Please bot me as needed to finish on time.

![]() |

It'd depend on how long you think it will take. I wouldn't be thrilled with another enemy at the level of the xill since a few of us are pretty beat up.

![]() |

As far as healing, we can take 10 min and a RP to get SP back, and Alzandre has 4 MK-1's on him. I don't know what the rest of you have.

![]() |

Crap. Would this work to keep the power suit working until we get back?
Transfer Charge: School: transmutation Casting Time: 1 standard action Range: touch Targets: two objects of the same type; see text Duration: instantaneous Saving Throw: Fortitude negates (object); Spell Resistance: yes (object)
Description: You can transfer any number of charges from one battery to another battery or from one power cell to another power cell. You can only transfer charges using two objects of the exact same type (two batteries of the same size, two identical power cells, or the like); you transfer charges from the source object to the receiving object.
You must declare how many charges you are transferring before casting this spell. If you transfer more charges from the source than the receiving item can hold, the receiving item must succeed at a Fortitude saving throw or take 1d6 electricity damage. This spell provides no knowledge of how many charges a receiving item can safely hold, but you can choose to transfer fewer charges than the maximum allowed to reduce the risk.

Brilliant idea! I played this with a technomancer who also has transfer charge and I didn't think of it. That's really inventive.
If it were my game I'd roll with it. You'd have to use the nearly depleted batteries from the Scholar to match 'the exact same type' and I'd have them fail while you were halfway home. Mwahahaha.
In this game the connection between the battery and the shielded armor is extremely fragile.

therealthom |

Sorry, Bigrin. I didn't mean to take you out of the fight.
I can think of a few options. You could take that artillery laser and crit fish at -4. If you do hit, it could be a game changer. Or you could provide harrying or covering fire to support the others. Or you could be a good Russian infantryman and wait for someone with an energy weapon to drop, then take theirs. Or some combination.
Or maybe there's something else that I haven't thought of.

![]() |

Hey, you didn't write the scenario, or choose my kit for me. Kai's never really been about the physical part of the job. He's happy to sit in the back and use harrying fire or similar.

therealthom |

Guys, FYI I reported the game last week to beat the actual deadline which was Aug 1. The report assumed that no one died and that you kicked the driftdead's butt so I really hope you do so. I've finished a couple chronicles, I'll post them as soon as they're all done.

![]() |

The report assumed that no one died and that you kicked the driftdead's butt so I really hope you do so.
We're not off to a very good start.

![]() |

Question: Do you think we will be finished with Chronicles by Friday night? I would like to play Saturday at the local store if possible. If not, I have two others I can play.

therealthom |

We are done with all the action. I'll hang out to role play your return and debriefing, but I can't kill you any more, so I'd say you're good to sign up for another game.
I've posted chronicles at the link below. Please double check them for accuracy. I think we've proven that attention to detail is not my strongest suit. I'll leave them up until the earlier of a couple weeks or everyone says they've picked them up.

![]() |

If we accomplish the primary and secondary success conditions, do we get +1 reputation with our slotted faction or +2?

![]() |

Not sure about the Chronicle. This is my 5th game. I rolled 22 on profession(archaeologist). Wayfinders is my faction, and the total before was 4.

therealthom |

Challenging the DM pays off again. You do get +2 on your rep. I had reported it correctly to Paizo, but had it wrong on your sheets. New sheets coming forthwith.
Bigrin, I editted the Paizo report to reflect the new number. Will update your sheet.
Alzandre, right you are. I'll change the chronicle number to 5.
