Tok finds success! Five broad desks line the walls of this small room. Each work surface is covered with stacked volumes brimming with page markers as well as numerous open books. Given the organization of the content, it appears that each desk is hosting content for different its own topic... And given the studious notes and organization, much of this is well kept.
Ilathor Valmaxian

As Ilathor's long elven ears catch the sound of a door opening, he bolts towards it. Pushing Tok out of the way, he practically dives into the room , scouring the spines for titles before settling down to start reading. At long last...

Angry Magic Tree patters back and forth in the smaller room, trying to find the most interesting books and bring them to Ilathor for closer inspection. If the elf were not so distracted, he might notice that most of the books the leshy offers have either plant or lion motifs on their covers.

Tok is able to open the door without any incident. The room itself is small. It serves as simple quarters, sparsely decorated with only the most basic furniture and a stoic portrait of Grand Prince Stavian III.
Here, too, perhaps to his surprise, is a woman. Not a man, as the lion had implied, but an elderly woman with a crimson blindfold wrapped around her head.
Obviously surprised by the sudden entry, she stands from her seat and greets you. "Now, just who are you and why are you here?" she asks, her voice calm.
Apologies! I've got a LARP and a 50th birthday coming up, so my attention will be particularly deficient in the next few days. I'll endeavor to get one in every day (which isn't too far off from my recent pacing), but I just wanted to let everyone know. c:

Xavier stops whatever he was doing and turns in the direction of the voice. "What was that?" he asks, to no one in particular, and starts heading towards the source of the voice.
He enters the room, evidently surprised to see the woman standing there. "Ah, hello, miss. We're just passing through and looking for information."

The wizard stays outside of the room, asking himself what he should do, what he is supposed to do to help anyway. But it seems to him that it will be difficult. That's the reason why he stays outside. Outside from the room, and outside from the discussion, for now.
| GM Hiyami |
Xavier, I'm sorry to do this, but I don't think you would've heard her from your position 95 feet away from the door. Which, you know, in this case might be a boon. You may pursue the others as they open the doors, but it doesn't make sense for you to hear someone that's in a room approximately 100 feet away.
Angry Magic Tree finds something that could be useful... This looks like a collection of maps indicating the troop movements of the Shining Crusade. Slide 3!
Please give me Perception or Intelligence checks to put everything back as it was... Or continue searching, if it pleases you.

Tok spies a small pouch with loops on a shelf. He grins for a moment. Picking up the pouch Tok gets as close as he can to the woman without alerting her. One hand unhooks the key ring from her belt, the other almost effortlessly replaces it with the pouch, and he slips the key ring into a hidden pocket on the inside of his vest.

Unconcerned with anything beyond his wonderful assistant and the texts he has before him, Ilathor continues to search this room for clues. "MAPS! Most excellent, keep up the good work!" he compliments the Leshy, taking care to copy the map with magic.

"Found this set of keys."
then goes to another door to check if the keys work on the lock.

Haing been distracted by another very interesting set of books, Yates snaps back to attention as he realizes that everyone had left the room already! Tok, you're only staggered at this point. When you hit negative hp, then you're unconscious. Granted, you'll only be able to take a move or standard action before falling unconscious, but it's something!
Angry Magic Tree stands in the doorway, keeping Ilathor inside. "We were told to put things back and not look like we were here," she says sternly. "You make too much of a mess reading, so you get to help me put it away before you go make more messes."
If someone wants to come get Ilathor and AMT for the angry book swarm (ABS), just remember we've got a librarian with probably better-than-average hearing who might notice someone shouting.
Yates Ashkoont

Yates looks over at Tok wondering why the tengu hadn't said anything about the obviously amazing book he'd found and gives a small exclaim of surprise to find that he'd been swarmed by a mound of books! "Tok, are you okay? I've never seen books do something like this before... Ooohh is that an illustrated annotated guide to the birds of the Wourldwound nibbling on you leg? Nice find!"
The ex-slave takes a moment to exmine the books and glance around the room just in case there is something nearby he could use to defend himself if the swarm of books decided he'd be a tasty treat.
Ah, no yelling, eh? Yates can't act just yet, though so he can't actually go and get anyone to help. Also hiyami, is there anything nearby taht could be used as an impromptu weapon, or should Yates grab something of his own?

Ilathor shoots Angry Magic Tree a sour look. "Well there is hardly any fun in that, but I suppose I shall have to persevere through this arrangement," he admits, her withering looking clearly motivation enough for the Elf to keep things tidy.

Xavier, in his wandering about, moves to the desk and starts to investigate. He nearly sets off the trap before he notices it. "Whoa!" he exclaims. He then gets up, and starts moving to the door, telling Waze, "I'll be right back."
He then walks into the room Tok was investigating, and sees him on the floor covered in books. "Tok, are you ok?" He rushes over, thinking, I wouldn't have expected someone as careful and agile as Tok to accidentally... Oh. As he gets closer, he figures out what happened. He draws his wand of CLW and his rapier (you can never be too careful!) and casts it on him. "Very well Angry Magic Tree, it appears we have exhausted this trove and left the books suggesting in appearance that they haven't moved. Shall we proceed to the next?" Ilathor asks, rising from his seat and walking to the next room.

It's a large swarm made up of books! c: It's a lot of books that are just very unhappy with the intruders. I apologize for the lack of clarity - I apparently never resized the image.
Also, since you would know that the swarm is immune to any spell or effect that targets a specific number of creatures (such as Magic Missile), you're welcome to do something else. c:
Swarm Defensive Abilities
A swarm is immune to any spell or effect that targets a specific number of creatures (including single-target spells such as disintegrate), with the exception of mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, morale effects, patterns, and phantasms) if the swarm has an Intelligence score and a hive mind. A swarm takes half again as much damage (+50%) from spells or effects that affect an area, such as splash weapons and many evocation spells.
Swarms made up of Diminutive or Fine creatures are susceptible to high winds, such as those created by a gust of wind spell. For purposes of determining the effects of wind on a swarm, treat the swarm as a creature of the same size as its constituent creatures. A swarm rendered unconscious by means of nonlethal damage becomes disorganized and dispersed, and does not reform until its hit points exceed its nonlethal damage.
