Wazasha smiles at you, "Haha whatever you say Chetna" she looks down at her data pad, "one last question, What is your least favorite part about being a Starfinder?"
after a few more caverns you arrive to the village, and it appears to be in distress. The goblins initial explosion appears to have caused more damage than initially thought, a fissure has split down the middle of the settlements cavern, dropping a massive chunk of stone onto what looks like a temple. There are a few dozen other dwarves struggling to break through the boulder.
"der Tempel!!!!!" Ylga shouts in dwarven as the rest of your dwarven escort rushes to assist. Ylga stops to look back at you and says, in draconic,"You have to help us! our elder is in the temple to Torag!"
Once you get down there the village members report to Ylga, who translates. "it looks like there are 2 viable ways to get through here: we can try to move the boulder, but our elder engineers and builders believe that the fissures trajectory should lead to one of the temples rear rooms, but the trench is filled with unknown, viscous fluid. " several dwarves with white beards appear to be arguing over the best course of action in the background.

"Thank you for such a thoughtful answer Chetna, our viewers always like those," she says as her long tongue rolls out of her mouth. After a moment she notices and seems embarrassed when she puts it back in, "Well... Like you said, can always use some polish." she says as she exits the booth.

The white beards are white mostly because of age, but there appear to be several much younger dwarves, who have died their beads white. it signifies their rank is the highest in their given field, or at least your best guess.
The Boulder looks like it would not be too hard to get through given the talent on the team, but it would take time, at least 10-15 minutes given the best circumstances and over an hour in the worst.
Wazasha Steps forward,"Ive got Zo! in my ear right now, this is gonna be a audience poll moment...." she says as she pulls up a wrist band holo-screen that shows 2 bars rising and falling against each other, one labeled "stone", the other "liquid". "He's soooooooo excited." she says sarcastically.
The fissure the liquid is in looks about only 5 feet tall, with 3 of it being filled with liquid, and Thenither sticking his hand into it. his hand goes in and comes out with no ill side effects, however it does not feel like water, its much too slick.
This is a synthetic lubricant, much as would be found in a mechanical engine or hydraulic system.
it does look like one might be able to brace against the top part, if they were athletic enough, which would most likely avoid touching the liquid.
Ylga responds, "Thank you Zay ooss of the Star Finder Clan but you must hurry! Our Chief Preist of Torag, Holsin Nolskrit must survive!! The Marbleheart need him!" She stresses.

Dr. Zaius shares what he has gleaned of the situation over the comms with the rest of the team. Then turning away from Ylga and toward Wazaasha and the cameras he says with a smile,
"What will it be folks the ROCK or the HARD PLACE? Cast your votes quickly as you can because this is actually a matter of life and death!"

"Never fear the Starfinders are here! We are merely evaluating which way will get us in quickest!"

Hearing that speed is needed, Pangea enters the fissure, and will try to brace against the top part, and move along while avoiding touching the liquid--
--but Pangea suddenly stops, and frowns: "Holsin Nolskrit?! Is this some kind of gag? That's a made up name..."
Then it shrugs and keeps on squirming along.

The Vesk quickly checks the environmental seals on his armor. He lowers himself slowly into the trench, and, always keeping at least one hand on solid dry shore, begins to wade into the temple.

Thenither, you're going to very quickly go frictionless. You should have an extremely hard time "wading" as your feet won't be able to keep their grip on the ground. You're more than likely going to have to swim it.

Wabasha yells out as Thenither and Pangea descend into the fissure, "Good guess! the fans voted a landslide 77% in favor of the fissure!!! Oh and Zo! wanted me to tell you, GOOGOGOGOOGOOGOGOOOOOOOOOOOOooooOOOOOOOO. apparently even I was contractually obligated to say that." she add that at the end with her trademark dry humor.
Thenither is able to wade his way through the fissure easily enough and Pangea is able to use enough makeshift hand and foot holds along the top to climb through without touching the fluid.
a tiny camera drone flys along and records the two of them for the pact worlds to watch on eagerly...

Once inside, Thenither grunts as he hauls himself out of the trench.
"It'th good that the fanth voted to do what we were already doing. Wabathha would be dithapointed if they hadn't."

Chetna takes Pangea's lead and is able to brace against the ceiling of the fissure and avoids touching the oily liquid. The rest of you are able to move fairly easy through the liquid but when you emerge out on the other side you may have a hard time standing up and moving without falling.
Everyone except Pangea and Chetna: You are affected by the grease spell and must make a DC 10 acrobatics check to move each round and failure by 5 or more means you fall prone. Until you actually enter combat, you are able to take 10 on this check.
The room you emerge in is dark at first but the film drones light it up in short order, revealing what might have once even a storage room or cellar. A set of carved stairs leads farther up into the temple.

Thenither pulls himself out of the pit, and draws himself into a standing position. When he tries to take a step, he falls into an awkward split, and slips again as he tries to stand once more. He stares at the fluid dripping off his armor and pooling around his feet.
With a deep hiss, he uses the wall to stand and begins to walk after Pangea and Chetna in the flat-footed stomp of an angry man walking on ice.

The fluid is perfectly mundane, but mechanically its like your subject to a grease spell until "the end of the next encounter."
The room you enter is devoid of any life and looks like a multipurpose storage room. the room to north appears to have a similar function and the room to the west looks like it could be a worship hall, but its hard to tell at this point. You can hear the sounds of a struggle from the room to the west!

Chetna runs back in and relays the info about the black grease. as she enters the western part of the room she sees a bit more into the main chapel and the dangerous scene within. An older dwarf is fending off 2 more of the black grease creatures, but it looks like they are getting the better of him by his wounds!

1) the ooze does not have any specific weaknesses. 2)these things can spit a glob of acid at range, as you saw with Chetna seconds ago 3) they have ooze immunities and resist acid 5. they also have the Spray ability:
Spray (Ex) As a reaction when hit by an attack that targets
its KAC, an autonomous synth fluid can spray a portion of its body into an adjacent 5-foot square. Any creature in the area takes1d3 acid damage (DC 9 Reflex negates), and the area becomes difficult terrain for non-ooze creatures. The fluids evaporate after 1 minute.

Thenither pulls a few chunks of debris from the goblin room out of his pack. He holds one out in front of him tosses it lightly straight up, and watches it accelerate in a flat trajectory toward the nearest ooze.

In starfinder there are no 5 foot steps; its called a guarded step and is a move action so we'll go with the trick attack in the spoiler.
Chetna jukes forward before stepping back, tricking the red blob and firing into it while Pangea fires another overcharged shot and Zaius finishes the red blob off while Thenither's rock flies past harmlessly.
