Maelstrom begins to take a closer look at the corpse. The charred corpse has a tin crown that bears a crude inscription that reads “Emperor Relios.”

Amidst the furniture is a desk with several log books and journals. Most seem to be ledgers for a business called Relios' Emporium. There also seems to be a personal journal written by Relios.

The snorts cease as a scraping sound can be heard. Whatever was back there must have heard Madcap! From the back room a trio of grotesque creatures emerge. Bloated frames shudder with each heaving step, yet despite its shape, the things move with surprising quickness.

Maelstrom hurls a glob of goo with a thwup over the other Madcap's shoulder.

Using protoplasm ability, ranged touch. Acts as tanglefoot bag plus one point of acid damage.

Then she gives a look at Ynam as if to say 'No, I'm looking at the other pastey-faced, capless clown.'

Corb wanders into the crowded room, grabbing his sling. Haven't used this in a while, but here goes...

He manages to get enough spin to get a rock to do some damage, despite the tight fit, and lets it fly towards the lumbering creatures.

Not sure if that'll hit with soft cover, but here's hoping.

Out of everything that has happened today - that is the only mystery that is still left unsolved. How the Gozreh are there two of you? I mean, I don’t really mind, there is great chemistry here - but you’re basically indistinguishable! What do you think, Oder, Corbett?

Also more focused on the conversation than the battle, Madcap responds: "Oh? I thought you meant Oded."

Oded recognizes these demons as Dretch Demons! While normally a Dretch Demon is resistant to all weaapons but cold iron, acid, cold and fire. Though these appear weaker and slightly smaller than a normal dretch and appear to be severely disoriented.

With Madcap in the way maelstrom's glob of goo misses completely and the goo spreads harmlessly against the wall. Corbett grabs his sling and flings a stone into the disoriented demon's maw, visibly injuring it.

GM I hid Teke's readied blast in a spoiler earlier, not sure if you saw it, I'll just post them normal if it's easier to notice them that way. It was 21 to hit (including cover penalty) for 9 damage.

If this were another game, (or maybe if I wasn't fighting a horde of soul-sucking monsters from the Abyss) I might say 'Red rover, red rover, let Corbett come over!"

Madcap starts swinging her punchline flail defensively in front of her. She uses the doorway for cover as best she can. TOTAL DEFENSE! +4 AC.

Oded shares what he knows with the group, drawing his scimitar and waiting for an opening or the need to cast a spell.

With a finger, Madcap samples a taste.

Maelstrom starts laughing his head off. "That has got to be the first time someone's tried to eat it."

Ynam charges lightning through her light hands. As she aproaches the enemy, it sparks towards it untill she dischages the electrity into the enemy.
Shocking Grasp: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13 -- touch ac
Damage: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7 -- electricity damage

Targeting the monster directly in front of her.

Ynam puts herself in a precarious position in between the pair of demons. Luckily for her these leer demons are disoriented and don't retain their natural immunity to electricity. The electricity courses right through it's thick skin as the demon convulses.

The pair bite and claw their way through the Pathfinders.

Teke throws more telekinetically charges rubble through the tightly packed corridor at the green demon.

Then he backs up to give the party room to un-advance. "If you fall back a bit, we might have better luck by drawing them in here."

Ynam takes a step further into the room, drawing out her dagger. "I should have prepared more shocking grasps..." she thinks as she realises she is out of close range spells.

I'll make some room for you here! Come help why don't you! she says to her allies.

Attempting to strike green with her dagger, she jabs for creatures back.

"You're just not zany enough. And JUST WHERE IN THE DEPTHS OF THE NINE HELLS IS CORBETT?!"

Corb drops his sling, grabbing his longspear and stepping towards the closest dretch. He gives a good solid grunt, and thrusts the spear into the pallid flesh of the demon. "Cursed things, go back to the pit ye came from!"

Corbett steps into the doorway just as Ynam and Madcap clear a spot and spears the wounded demon through the neck. Every other attack just seems to miss as the Pathfinders push the demons assault back.

In close range now, Corb kicks furiously at the demon, hoping to put a dent in it's head.

With that the remaining demon is defeated before it could grow in strength and numbers.

Amidst the furniture is a desk with several log books and journals. Most of them detail the day-to-day transactions of the Emporium, but one is Relios’s personal journal. It details the goings on of many of his wealthy clients, as well as Relios’s personal life including the details of his ancestry and his son’s birth. One of the last ledgers mentions that Relios was falling on hard times and intended to sell his wayfinder back to the Pathfinder Society. The ledgers also show that Relios was selling a steady stream of yellowcap mushrooms to members of the pre-revolution high society in Augustana.

The next rooms are vaults lined with shelves thick with growing yellowcap mushrooms.

And on the very back wall, Gandros has painted a portal, a large circle of swirling color patterns. On the floor lies an open and empty scroll case next to a slightly charred, blank piece of parchment.

"And I think we've found the cure for M.M.'s stoicism!"

Seriously, did we really do al that for nothing? He really was a crazy old fool...I can’t believe we wasted ku time with that. Even if it was for some cheep gags... she turns to Madcap and Madcap with her hand extended.

Maelstrom shakes Ynam's hand, and then walks over to the mushrooms. He then takes a whiff of their smell. This is probably a bad idea.

Oded casts Detect Magic and scans the room...

A whiff of the mushrooms does little to Maelstrom's mind and Oded detects no more magic about the room as the used scroll lies on the floor.

Once the dretches are defeated, it is safe for Gandros to return home as you head back towards the manor. Gandros continues to wait in the room, though impatiently. He smiles as he sees you return, holding his arms out wide. "Ah, My loyal followers have returned! What have you..." He stops and covers his nose. "You smell of sewer water. Go shower at once! Then I shall grant you a single item each from my Palace." he says with a smile.
