DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Two goblins come running out of the darkness headed for the tunnel from where the light shines. Cocoa releases the spell she was holding. A line of shadowy vines shoot out from her finger tips the length of the tunnel and into the room where the goblins appeared. As they extend they sprout nasty looking thorns which tear at the goblins. The lead goblin takes it worse than his companion.

Arwen backs up behind the crowd lowering her bow. "Coco! Maybe its best to try and tell them we AREN'T enemies." She calls Emmy and Tiger Lilly back to her, "We need to make them understand that we are friends, and won't hurt them." Arwen turns and shouts to the group. "Only defend! Don't hurt them!"

Concerned things may get out of hand, Emmy pushes to the front and calls out, "Stop! We come in peace. Do you want a snack?"

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

The two in the light run into the darkness. Then there is some chittering and talking in a harsh high pitched language, one would assume goblin. After a lot of scrabbling and slapping of feet, a voice comes from the dark. "We would like snack. We take little one with bad spells, she make good snack."

Bruno steps up to defend placing himself between to goblin and the "little one with bad spells"

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

The tunnel leading into the goblin den is getting ever more crowded. As Bruno elbows his way through the crowd to setup in front as a guard he all but takes up the last remaining stretch of tunnel so that there is nary a recessed spot where Grak could stand to support his friend. But then it is just as well for sneaking up behind the group was a sewer ooze which Grak and the others in the back only notice when it strikes.

In the front of the tunnel, the goblins cry out, "It is one of the hated ones, he is here to kill us all!" Then several arrows come flying in at Bruno. They all clatter off the walls or his raised shield.

Aramis, ever ready to enter the fray, springs forward to attack the goblins who shot.

Malkis peers into the gloom. If he can see a targe that shot in this direction, he releases burning hands. (DM note: Makis, Ash and Aramis were among the first to head down the hall, if we somehow are in the back, the burning hands will be directed at eh ooze. Aramis had commented to the others to check the bones when heading down the hall).

ASh readies his shield and axe moving forward to strike the nearest foe.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

I had not caught the part about Aramis moving forward into the tunnel. I had him back with Grak so he is there near the ooze. As for Malkis, he is near the front of the fray next to Cocoa. Ash is right behind him.

Grak turns and faces the slime, interposing his shield between him and the abomination. "Attack from the rear as well!" he shouts to his comrades as he bashes it.
Posting attack roll later. Have to figure out what it will be first.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Malkis steps beyond the dwarf and launches his flaming hands to the right to hit two goblins. The flames wash over the two creatures and they fall to the ground extra crispy. Then Ash steps past Malkis to cleave the nearest goblin in twain.

Arwen heaves a sigh, "So much for peace," She tries to step away from the fight. Just in case she sees a shot, Arwen keeps her bow ready. She shouts to Emmy, "Nice going with the snack idea! It was a good plan until they said they wanted to eat Coco!"

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Aramis being back with the paladin leaps in to take a shot at the ooze. His rapier rakes through the foul slime drawing its attention. Back in the tunnel, Cocoa steps forward for a better look. Peering around the dwarf she launches a ball of acid that strikes one of the goblins in the light and it splashes onto the one next to it.

The ooze reaches for Aramis with a flailing pseudopod but misses. The goblins, apparently insane, attack the party even though the odds seem to be against them. In the flurry of screaming goblins swinging dog slicers Malkis and Ash are both hit, Ash taking a rather serious wound.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Thoron doesn't have sufficient room at first so he decides to clear things out a bit. He moves past Malkis and the dinosaur shoving hard against one of the goblins to drive it backward. He follows up with a swipe of his hammer to let it knows he means business but the goblins ducks the blow.

Arabism finishes off the ooze with a final thrust of his rapier that seems to overcome its ability to maintain coherency. Over at the goblin battle, Ash again cuts down a goblin.

Malik’s still has his turn.

DM / GM / The man behind the curtain

Malkis blasts the nearest goblin with a ray of frost.

Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d8 ⇒ 3

The ray sends the wounded goblin into fitful shakes before it drops. The remaining goblins seem scared and yet they still do not run. It's as if they fear something else even more.

A new goblin from the darkness attacks Cappuccino scratching the dinosaur across its back. The goblin attacking Ash lunges with a vicious attack but fails to penetrate the big man's defenses. The dwarf is not quite as lucky. His armor blocks most of the blow he receives but the spearpoint does make it through his chainmail and scratches him across the ribs.

Cocoa leads the way into the darkness revealing the layout of the room with her light as she proceeds. There are three rough hewn openings to the west, one of which opens onto a small room, perhaps a burial chamber. Another exit is to the east. Unlike the three to the west it is worked stone, by those of good skill. A set of four steps leads up to a flagstone hall that disappears into the darkness.

Grak finds the last goblin from the fight hiding in one of the back caves to the west. "Kill quick so Drakus not eat." the goblin says pitifully hanging its head in defeat.

Meanwhile Coacoa steps up the three stairs leading to the easter hall. Her light illuminates down the hall and her gnome vision allows her to see beyond. The hall is not long, only twenty feet, before opening into a room.

Both women step forward to get a better look at the room. The sound of dripping water echoes through this chamber. On the north side of the room, a nearly ten-foot-tall visage of a woman’s face is carved into the wall. Trickles of water run down her cheeks like tears into a foul and polluted reservoir below, which itself drains to a large pool of fetid black water on the south side of the room.
