Thurl opens the door and moves into the entrance and says, "Who are you who corrupts this place of meditation?"

With a look of shock that the door was opened so easily by Thurl, Brag cautiously follows Thurl in, bow at the ready.

Round One
Lem smashes the wooden door, the intricate carvings of Irori splintering into shrapnel from Lem's Quaker. The outside of the door and the 15' in front of it are sheathed in a thin coating of ice that is quickly melting.
Inside there is a balcony running around the outer edge of a central room. Ahead the balcony leads to a door in the western wall. A staircase to Lem and Arbaro's immediate right leads down to a landing that runs along the north side of the room before descending down a second staircase on the western wall.
More importantly, standing on either side of the upper ledge and the landing are two archer ghouls, bows drawn, eyeing the iced door (now smashed) with caution.
Down below, on the ground level in the central room, is a meditative zen garden full of sand, rocks, and very small shrubs. The sand has been pulled into pleasing and calming shapes, but is a tinged with a slight pink shade. The small rocks and shrubs are carefully arranged to look natural, but are in fact manicured to perfection.
Worst of all, in the center of the zen garden is a black-clad warrior mounted on a fiendish dire panda bear. His eyes burn with hollow red anger that matches the panda's soulless gaze. The warrior wields a black glaive wreathed in dark shadows that flicker in the light. His helmet drips red blood from the mouthguard, and you hear a rattling breathing, like a draft in a lifeless cave.
As your eyes adjust to the darkness, you see the armored warrior more clearly.

Is it fair to say that Thurl is in front of Bragoleb? That was my intention, but I'm not sure if I was explicit enough. Also...I was intending to eat the fruit before leaving the cleansing chamber, but I think i forgot to mention it...can we retcon that? Because we all definitly expected a fight here.

Three ghouls burst in a spray of shiny blood and flecks of flesh.
The two archer ghouls on the landing in front of Lem and Arbaro knock their arrows. One says, "First Hunger, your meals have come to you today!"
The black clad soldier creaks out a deep and hollow, "Huuuuunnnnngryyyyyyyyy... Soooo huuuuuuunnnnnnngryyyyyy..." He and his panda wander the zen garden aimlessly, unresponsive to the intrusion by Lem and Arbaro upstairs.
The other archer responds with the tone of a religious mantra, "Feed him."
"Feed him," the first responds, and sends a couple of arrows into Lem. The second archer does the same, but misses both shots.

The two ghouls that ran from Thurl and Bragoleb wave and shout at the panda-riding soldier.
The warrior on the panda pulls up on the chain reigns, the sight of the ghouls apparently taking him out of his reverie. However, he lifts his head toward the landing, as if searching for something above him. Tilting his head back, you hear a deep intake of breath from the soldier's bleeding helmet.
"Foooooood..." the hollow voice says. "Huuuuuuunnnnnnngryyyyyy..."
He uncorks a vial of unholy water and sprinkles a few pinches of silver dust into the bottle before letting it spill in a circle around him and his fiendish dire panda. He casts desecrate. The gaze from his fiendish helmet is transfixed above him, in the direction of Lem, the halfling's wounds dripping blood through the floorboards.

Well, looks like it’s just Me and Arbaro...

Bragoleb |

No... Not the dreaded TPK.
My next move was to channel some positive energy to heal Lem (and anyone else within 30 feet). I'm still not sure how they could see Brag considering the angles. I assumed that Brag was far enough back to only see the antipaladin, panda, and Thurl.

Nevermind! I see that the dreaded archers moved to gain sight of the door way. I should have checked the map first. So I'm dead, dead. 1 HP damage more than my total HP plus Constitution. It's been fun... Sorry to lose Brag, his shortened name no longer fits. But he did take out the antipaladin.
Brag breaths his last, "I go to find Iomadae, in whose mighty company I shall not now feel ashamed."

Arbaro takes aim at the archer still on his level.
+1 Longbow, composite(+2) Deadly Aim, Rapid Shot Attack, PBS: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
+1 Longbow, composite(+2) Deadly Aim, Rapid Shot Attack, PBS: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Damage: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 1) + 8 = 14

GM Mervikoth |

One of Arbaro's arrows hits, and the upper archer is almost dead.
Round 4
The panda bites and swips at Thurl, the scent of sandalwood and bamboo on the monk feeding his hunger for warm blood.
Bite: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Claw: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28
Claw: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Thurl, Lem, and... just them are up.

Round ??? | HP 19/39 | Advice 8/17 | Awaken Divinity 0/6 | Ki Pool 1/10
AC: 30 T: 28 FF: 18 CMD: 22 Mage Armor, Shield, Barkskin, Greater magic Fang active
Thurl yells out, "I won't last much longer Arbaro, get Lem out of here! Bragoleb is Down!" and punches at the bear again.
Attack (Unarmed Strike): 1d20 + 9 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 3 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 2 = 6
Then Thurl backs out of the room a few steps (5 ft) to get some distance from the panda, but keeping the north archer in his line of sight.

GM Mervikoth |

Arbaro perfectly strikes the archer, killing it. Only one archer and the bear remain. Thurl whiffs his attacks.
Arrows: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 2 = 13
Arrows: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 10 + 2 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 12
The archer sinks an arrow into Arbaro, but you see on his face that his options are running out. All his magic arrows are spent/worthlses, and sneak attack only works on flat-footed or flanked creatures, so he'll be doing much less damage now.
Arbaro is up.
