Yes, not as noticeable with the new formatting. A little counter productive for a PBP.

@eevryone - the dice aren't being kind at all. I think everyone's been rolling mediocre or worse against these little guys. There was a little luck there but I'm afraid I've soaked it all up with that last roll.

Oh, I got the shot... but either this virus hadn't got the memo that it wasn't supposed to go around this year, or this is a MILD version of the plague, thanks to the shot... in which case I really do pity the anti-vaccine people who get this particular bug and get to experience it in its full fell glory.

Ok cool. Sounds like everyone is still in. My plan was to move on to another scenario with the same characters, but at level 3. For leveling, taking the same approach as last time, just redoing character wealth for level 3, since scenarios are a little light on the loot.

I was leaning towards The Voice in the Void for the adventure.

How did the wealth increase work again? Do we just reset things to new wealth level (minus the few drops like the monkey belt) or should we go the route of selling for 1/2 price the stuff we have if we want something else in its place?


My proposal is to just reset wealth to character level (Everyone should have 3000gp worth of stuff or cash). I guess that kind of assumes that the monkey belt got sold/turned in for reward, since it is an individually high priced item. But unless someone was really enamored with one of the items you guys got, it feels like the fairest way to bring you al back up to player wealth and even with each other..

Oh shoot! Fain reluctantly hands the monkey belt over to the society.

I've leveled Fain. He is getting loaded up with conditional bonuses:
Favoured terrain - woodlands +2 (this means his survival is +7, his tracking is +8, his woodland tracking is +11, and his woodland animal tracking is +13)
bonus feat - endurance
new feat - blundering defence (adjacent allies get 1/2 his dodge bonus when he uses 'fight defensively' (+2) or 'total defence' (+3) to their AC and CMD.

I'll will probably be taking the 3000gp in stuff.

To be clear, it is 3000gp total for all you items. Not 3000gp of new items. And normal rules still apply, that no individual item can be half your starting wealth.

But you can refactor your original items as much as you want. Essentially you are doing gear like the character is brand new.

Sounds about right Fain. So +1 armor should be good so long as it isn't full plate but I can't think of a magic weapon less then 1500. Wondrous items I can think of a few. Might I suggest potions as an option?

And I leveled Luk-Luk but haven't spent all of the 3000 GP cap, I just added the difference in starting wealth from Level 2 to 3 into her purse so to speak.

Thrym is just about updated... need to think which spirit type I'll go to begin with - Thrym can swap that every morning, but need to start with something. I guess I'll be mostly using Ancestors, Heavens or Lore spirits.

Fatigued? That is the least bad, I think, for running away.

Sickened and Shaken are worse conditions, but Fatigued will likely last the longest... I'd go for either of the first two, but who can tell what will be needed most ;^)


So it seems like Fain, Luk Luk and Thrym are all either leveled or close to leveled. Vard is in process. Any word from Alenka?

I have to clean up Fain's equipment a bit - I like the idea of adding the difference between 2nd and third. Just a bit of tidying. Otherwise, Fain's ready to go.

also, with permission from the GM, I've dropped Skald as a language and took artistry - illustration. One person speaking Skald with Thrym is funny - two is, well ... not.

Thrym's done, I'm going with Ancestors spirit to begin with, and will switch when something else seems appropriate - at least this way, the spirit can speak and can be interacted with... although I'm not having it learn Common - it would be the spirit of an animal companion of some ancient Ulfen spellcaster, so why would it know any human language but the one that mattered when it was among the living?

Fain is all cleaned up - and I've written another letter in his description section. I think I'll do one a level with suggestions that other letters were written in between.


So, I feel really bad about this, bit I think I may have to pull out of running the next game. I changed projects at work about a week and a half ago and since then I've been impossibly busy.

I've been guaging the past week for how much free time I have, because I still wanted to make it work. However, I think it might be better to not start a new game right now. I know my personality and if I start I'll need to see it through to the end. But realistically I think that would just result in low quality posts for you guys and a lot of stress for me.

Again, really sorry about this. I've really enjoyed playing with you all and hopefully will get the chance to do so again at some point.
