I told you to listen to me! Now, look at you are now!
With a bow in her hands, Beatrice tries all she can to evade or deflect the giant attack’s, but wounds cover her.
You would have act like those giants or go to the bridge. Both of those are terrible ideas for me or this holy warrior.
You’re wrong, I would… but the voice doesn’t add anything more.
The doctor continues to be at the defensive as she drops her bow and draws a Great pick.
Nevertheless, I need your help now. I think those creatures have similar symptoms to us. I am not a fan of Homeopathy, but at think I can do an infringement to the scientific method.
Beatrice eyes’ change color as they became Silver and her weapon have a dark glow.
I will ponce you! says two voices in the same time.

Karbad howls as the bullman cuts at him and Beatrice. "Fool to attack a chosen of Torag!" The Paladin immediately strikes back at the one who hurts Beatrice. Then the dwarf calls upon Torag's grace and his wounds instantly heal. Karbad then grips the dwarven waraxe in two hand and begins to butcher the enemies. His axe swings from one enemy to the other.

One of the bull men catches it square in the face, the other manages to hide behind his compaion.
Beatice draws a pick after a moments hesitation, which costs her an opening to strike.
Fumbles shows that you don't have to be big to be good. He opens up the side of the red bull-man with a viscious strike.

Karbad slices at the bull-man who attacked Beatrice, and while he wounds the creature, it was not enough to stop the blow. The paladins own wounds seem to vanish as he does so! He then cuts into both the bull-men as he sweeps his axe through them.
Remember to take a -5 on your second attack
The two minotaurs look to each other, their easy victory looking less likely. Reluctantly the two toss down their axes and glare at you, speaking words in Joptun.
Anyone speak Jotun? And is there a fifth of you?

Mordack, they threw down their weapons.
Karbad steps up and kicks one of the axes away. "Anyone speak this gibberish?" He speaks to the bull men. "Do you speak Common?"
He yells at the bull-men. Down on the ground!" He points at them, then to the ground, holding his waraxe threateningly.

The two bull-men sit and jabber away at Karbad, pointing to their own dead and hissing at him.

Béatrice understands what going on.
Oh I understand! They want the corpses of their companions.I don't need you anymore Thanks!

Béatrice moves her weapon like she point to the corpses and then she withdraw from the corpses.
With some effort, she returns to normal, but her body aches a little.

"I think they want to take the bodies of thieir own."

"Yeah, and they're going to have to wait on that until we can sort out what the hell happened here. If they and their friends butchered these people, they're going to face a headsman's axe instead."
Karbad points to one of the dead caravaners and then points accusingly at the bull-men.
Does anyone speak Jotun? Do we know if anyone in the town speaks Jotun?

Barin Orc-bane |

Barin does not speak Jotun. Sorry for not contributing to the fight

The Minotaurs are accepting of Beatrice's aid, and seem surprised by it.
With the immediate threat dealt with, the team spends a dark hour looking over the bodies and wagons.
There were five guards, each armed with longsword, shortbow leather armour and a quivver of arrows. One of the longswords looks to be of substantially better quality than the others.
There are several dead bull men as well, they are armed, like those who attacked you, with large greataxes. One of them has a symbol about its heck depicting a bulls head.
recall knowledge(religion) DC20, checks may be helpful here, as many as you can. If you succeed you can try a second time at DC 23
North of the stream you locate a set of hoof prints Which would take a survival check to follow.
Meanwhile the wagon looks to have been cleared of anything valuable or useful. Who knows what a perception check might turn up though

Happy that all the people are healed, Beatrice looks at the symbol. During her formation as a doctor, she was part of the occult. They would meet each weekend and they were trying and learn all sort of thing.
Yes. Like doing a summoning of a Great Old One.
You are not one. I can understand you and I am not insane.
She also drink our cat's eye elixir to be more able to look after clues.
You think so?

Barin Orc-bane |

Surveing the scene pf carnage Barin mutters:"Are you sure we did the right thing letting those 2 go? Judging from this it seems like their friends were not as merciful. What if they slaughter some innocents? Their deaths would be on us, you know"
While still muttering the dwarf examines the tracks

I don't think we let them go, did we? We're just not focused on them right now.
Karbad finishes tying the bullmen to a tree and searches them for any other information. Then he goes to help search the wreckage. He picks up the longsword of note and stows it for now. Unfortunately, he seems to be little help to Beatrice and actually might be distracting her.

Barin is prettty sure he could follow the trail into the mountains, but nothing else of note is turned up in the search of the wagons or minotaurs.
Pause for a moment to let the other two try skills, or Baric to try a perception on the wagon, then I guess you only have to decide if you camp here or continue on through the night.

![]() |

Fumbles doesn't notice anything else either.
Plans - heading on through the night or camping? And what are you doing with your captive minotaurs?

Barin Orc-bane |

I tyhink we should keep them tied. I don't trust those sons of a cow. As for what to do next, I say we camp, no sense in charging through an unknown trek with more than a few of us unable to see in the dark

The minotaurs are tied up and the very tired crew of Pathfinders grabs a well deserved rest for a few hours.
It dawns misty but calm.

Barin Orc-bane |

"I found those footprints. I will see we get to those who left them..." Thror comments as he starts following the traces left by whoever fled the scene of the massacre.

Enchanter's Playtest |

"Alright, let's go." Karbad pushes the bound minotaurs ahead of him. "We're taking these two with us. If we find something, maybe their reactions will tell us something."

You set off following the footsteps. After about an hour the keen eyed Barin notices a a second set of smaller, humanoid foodsteps branching off the main trail..

Some Random Goblin |

Are they *goblinoid* footprints? Or just a small human?
"Ooo! I wonder whether they had Goblins with them? There have been more of around recently. I would be sad to hear that more of us died in service to the Society. Hopefully that isn't actually what happened. I am glad that one managed to get away."

The are smaller than the minotaurs. Hard to tell but they are *probably* bigger than a normal goblins. Maybe.
You break off the main trail and follow the other footprints.

Enchanter's Playtest |

Karbad grunts at Barin's jest. "It's ok, miss. We've captured them."
"Wait, did you say Inisa? The Pathfinder? We've been looking for you! Ambrus Valsin sent us. Are you ok? Where is the Inheritor’s Clasp?"

![]() |

"Long story. Short version is I had it, lost it to the minotaurs, regained it, and then lost it again. They have it over there.. ."
She points through the trees.
"I'm not sure what they are saying, but their body language shows some type of debate going on. " she pauses for a moment. "They are not in a good position, lost several of their number to me and seem pretty small for a minotaur clan. You may be able to parley with them to get the clasp back." she holds up a wooden symbol, similar to what you saw on one of the minotaurs earlier.
"This is a symbol of Baphomet - I took it from one of the minotaurs I slew earlier. Holding it out you may be able to get a truce and talk with them without getting attacked..."

Sense motive is passive now, and your perception. The active skill is Deception with the "Lie" action.
"I don't really speak the langauge, just a word or two. But I think I heard their leader speaking some Taldane earlier. As for those two.. One minotaur looks pretty much the same as another to me sorry."

Béatrice Rosé |
"Well, if we can talk to him, we can negociate!"she whispers.
Béatrice, it will be better to just kill them. They are monsters. I know you wish to do good, but sometimes...

Barin in innately suspicious, but for the moment at any rate, can see no grounds for his suspicions.
And to keep this moving, I'm going to assume that is what you do
The group emerges from the trees and sees a small group of minotaurs. They instantly grab weapons and look ready for a fight!
And once again, to keep things moving
You prominantly show the symbol and the minotaurs ease a little. One steps forward - this one obviously female. After no response in her Jotun words she asks in Taldane "Who are you and what do you want?"
