Aviz
Hello all, I'm excited to be on board! And I feel honored to have made the cut for the martial role with the stiff competition.
Aviz is a tactical fighter. Will also be a decent scout. Is very pointedly not a face.
Quellina Esstanov
Quellina here. She can use magic to heal, buff myself or others, or she can just put a blade where the sun doesn't shine if it comes to that. Out of combat, has good Charisma and will put ranks into more social skills as we level.
Amaya Shirina
Amaya reporting in.
She has ranks in all of the +CHA skills, but has only passable CHA so probably isn't a perfect social face but should be decent enough. At the moment, I can probably fill in as a back up martial, switch hitting from melee or range as required.
I'll get a few more utility tricks later in the game (like Flight, Tremorsense, Earth Glide, Undead Creation etc) but at the moment she is probably a back up source of damage.
Oh and anti swarm utility offense :)
Melethiel Kane
Hi, Melethiel here
She will begin the game as a pretty intense damage dealer.
under Enlarge person she would actually deal 2d8+8 18-20/x2 which is kinda insane at first level.
progressing she will gain more buffs but will not scale too much until level 7 where all her soul stuff will really start (and when she will have to convince the less unscrupulous among you that nothing weird is going on)
She will rely on buffs, especially self buffs and various giant/beast/undead shape and eventually the actual transformation spell which would make her an absolutely scary monster in combat, combined with her future ability to drain energy. also on her massive ability to craft magic items potentially even for free (although dependent on how many unfortunate souls I can catch)
as it is right now I can reach +17 on crafting weapons and armors so I am kinda Masterwork ready.
This is my lowest charisma character probably ever and for the first time in my gaming experience I will probably not be a face.
Bescha Stonecrusher-Rumbleroar
Bescha, here!
I don't really have a plan at large for her, but given that the party seems to have a good number of people who can wade into melee, I may reneg on my plans to go into eldritch knight and stick to full wizard. Still, in any case with her abjuration abilities, she at least won't be helpless in whatever enclosed spaces we may end up going into. The other possibility I'm considering is a Loremaster... but we'll see. With the party comp as it is, I'll probably focus on launching debuffs and conjuring walls and various other blockages to keep these youngbloods from being too overeager. She'll also be the one to ask any lore-related questions, given her time in the library.
Flouncy Magoo
Hi! I'm excited to be starting what I hope will be a lengthy adventure.
Flouncy will go with 1 level of rogue, then sorcerer 4, then arcane trickster. It looks like we have a lot of stealthy characters here, so that will make things fun. I enjoy the tension of spying and trying not to be noticed. That's kinda important underground...
Flouncy's bloodline (sage) relies on intelligence, rather than charisma, so he's not the sort to be a face character. All the charisma skills are class skills for him, so he'll have some competence, but he'll never be a natural charmer. His high intelligence and many other class skills will make him useful, though.
Being a halfling with a strength of 8 and a BAB that is behind that of a regular sorcerer, he's really bad at fighting, and he knows it. He's not a coward, he's just a realist! He's agile enough to provide some flanking, though. He'll do that when he can.
So, he's a smart, sneaky, quiet little skill guy with some solid magical talent, which he's yet to discover. He'll be good with traps and the like, and he'll be able to use magic and stealth to scout out what's ahead without using up other casters' spells.

Well strix do have natural flight but they don't inherently have fly as a class skill. Having fly trained as a skill allows Aviz to do more complex aerial maneuvers.

I’m not really much of a crafter but the new rules are fine. I guess it depends a little if there is downtime or not - as sometimes this has bearing on craft time and such.
GM would you mind if I switched out my Toughness feat for Combat Reflexes? I’m thinking I might embrace some reach options in future.
Melethiel Kane
umh, by the looks of it it seems to result in faster crafting and cheaper but more difficult masterwork items.
With standard rules as of now I could spend 150 gold, roll my craft and on a 3 or higher succeed.
With this method at the cost of the normal item I would produce a masterwork instead of a normal item on a roll of 19 (in the case of exotic weapons which is what my character uses)
Or I could risk the weapon by modifying an existing one and I would need to roll a 10.
I think that works.
I especially love the material part because it both plays into what my character does (turn defeated monsters into more loot) and gives an actual set of rules for something we all did at least once, killing a dragon and then wanting to fashion his scales into an armor.
I think I will have lots of fun with this system.

Creatures with a fly speed treat the Fly skill as a class skill. A creature with a natural fly speed receives a bonus (or penalty) on Fly skill checks depending on its maneuverability: Clumsy –8, Poor –4, Average +0, Good +4, Perfect +8. Creatures without a listed maneuverability rating are assumed to have average maneuverability. -CRB

I'm not a rules expert. I just wondered about it, too, and looked it up. Aviz can fly like a mofo! And climb, too!

I agree, I think we have a very strong group.
I would likely talk with Bescha a little while longer than perhaps address the sheriff, but I am ready to move on. To the action!
Amaya Shirina
I'm happy to keep RPing but I'm fine and largely ready to move on with everyone else.

Definitely not uninteresting. Personally I felt a little weird because the plot hook requires me to interject myself into other people's business without being asked, and my character with his bad charisma and cautious personality was having trouble thinking of a way to do that. But I think if I piggyback of my new dwarven buddy we can get it.
By the way I'm really enjoying the characters we have here. I can't wait to see us come together as a group!
Aviz
Oh it was totally fine as a mysterious plot hook! It's just that I'm playing a particularly not charismatic character (re: -4 to diplomacy) and was thinking how I could interject myself into this. Luckily my good friend Bescha has me covered :D
And yes, weekends tend to be less active in general.

Definitely interested. But I have a full day of larp 2 saturdays a month (usually the 1st and the 3rd but last month one was moved to the 5th)
I have to run a big event that will happen on the 20th so I got a bit carried away with that.
But don't you worry, still here still rolling, just having a somewhat crazy weekend/monday

I think we're all ready to move on. Since tracking right now doesn't seem to be an option, we have elected to wait until morning to try to follow the trail with the help of the townspeople.
Aviz
People not actually saying they're going back to town, just leaving themselves standing out in the woods.
I'm going to use the Skyrim wait feature. Just stand there like a statue all night, and then suddenly animate at exactly 8am.
Aviz
I do believe that's where we are at, yes.
Speaking for myself, I'm already immersed in the town you have created. There's interesting characters and dynamics that I look forward to exploring. But at the moment I'm waiting for something go happen as a result of this tracking expedition, be it following the trail to it's end or something else diverting our attention on the way there. In the meantime Aviz is content to keep an eye out for our tracker so he doesn't have to worry about getting caught off guard.
