Gab comes over the comms, shouting against the storm, "Kima, you okay? Confirm conscious and able to move, okay? Are you at least insulated from the storm down there?" He glances around at the others nearby. "Anybody got any cable or rope to help her up? Rafikki, can you climb down there and get her?"

Julakesh bursts out laughing and elbows Darkrunner. "A-HAH! A-HAH! I told you someone would die horribly!" She points and laughs where Kima fell. "I am unsurprised it was her!"
She chuckles some more then calls out loudly, "ARE YOU ALIVE, BROKEN, OR DEAD DOWN THERE?"
As Darkrunner tells her she may have been electrocuted, Julakesh bursts out laughing again. "A-HAH! A-HAH! This is funny, because I am invincible! Lightning cannot defeat me any more than you can! ! A-HAH! A-HAH!!" She claps Darkrunner on the back. "YOU AMUSE ME!"
"Come. Let us help our weak, broken, ally back up here!"

"Just a little...."Kima starts to reply and is then drowned out by the loud vesk voice followed by laughter. "...brused" She doesn't seem to be amused at all by the statement at all as she brushes herself off and looks around the area.
"It looks like it's climbable, but I think rope is being added to the supplies for next trip."
Athletics: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Kima will actually seem not the most nimble but she is randomly climbing a lightening pock marked wall.

Witnessing Kima's fall, and being injured on the journey through the storm to this point, Rafikki slows his progression using the utmost caution.
Seeing Kima's mild annoyance and wanting to offer some support, he yells down to her, "I knows yous a good heala, but if'n you needs asseestance seein ta ya ails, I can help. Ya doin fine gettin up dat wall."

Gargalus: Unfortunately no, but the work you've done will persist for this whole scene.
Gab is able to get out of the storm and inside what looks like it used to be an AbadarCorp banking branch, long-since ruined by local environmental conditions.
Kima is able to climb out of the ravine, but is now back in the storm.

You mean standing there and mocking my allies isn't an action? Haha.
"She is alive! Good!"
"YOU SHOULD BE PROUD!" she calls down to Kima.
Then she sees Gab dash off. "A-HAH! The little one goes! I will check ahead and make sure he does not get killed!" Julakesh follows Gab into the building we're beside and hops down the ledge.

No more Acrobatics checks needed once you're off the bridge, at least!
Kima, Rafikki, and Gargalus meet up in the central structure, out of the storm at last!
Julakesh, Darkrunner, and Gab reach the source of the weak cries, also inside a structure, keeping them safe from further storm damage while within its walls.
A body lies still inside the remains of this decaying structure. Rubble pins the body’s legs to the ground. A hoarse sob resounds from the figure as a lingering blast from the storm launches a piece of stone into its side. It twitches before going still once more, the rise and fall of its torso growing shallow with each breath.
You can quickly ascertain that this is one of the natives, and a DC 5 Medicine Check reveals that they have been trapped here for at least 3 days and have run out of food and water!
To safely free the native from the debris would require an Engineering or Medicine check!

Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Medicine is to try and focus on extracting him without breaking or severing his limbs, and Engineering is to remove the rubble above/around him without causing a cave-in :)

The GM is going to assume that no one else is going to be out in the storm, so I'm going to advance us a little bit.
The electrical storm dies out about 12 seconds later (only 5 rounds of storm hazards), leaving you all in an area where you can still feel the background static electricity, but no more immediate dangers!
Even though he is not able to speak your language, the native appears very grateful for Julakesh, directed by Darkrunner and Gab; rescuing him.
What would you all like to do?

Medicine: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
When Kima arrives, Gab directs her over to look at the native. "I have a med kit, but I don't know his physiology all that well, so figure your power is probably a bit more reliable. But I don't know how much juice you have left."

![]() |

Kima will come over and take a look and see what needs to be done.
Medicine: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
"I can do this the quick way, or the long way." Kima mentions looking him over trying to make calming noises. "I'd rather save the quick way if we are going to jump into something further on, that might be more time pressure than we have here. Long way may also take as long as it will to free him so not really much change there."
She'll use healing touch on him which is 10hp in 10 mins.

![]() |

Upon being healed, he is overjoyed. He shoves a woven sack towards you, apparently insisting that you take it in thanks, as he starts to make his way back towards his settlement.
Inside are two tiny golden rings:
One of them on a chain...
This is a Trailblazer Weapon Fusion Seal rated at Item Level 4.
By my new read on fusion seals - they become active instantly once you put them on a weapon, unless you are removing them from one weapon to put on another - then a 24-hour delay before it becomes active occurs, so you can use this one on any weapon up to item level 4 right away!
The other one bearing a small emerald that glows softly...
This is a Mk. 1 Ring of Resistance.
As well as ten softly old AbadarCorp cred-sticks worth precisely 75 credits each (750 credits total, and legally free for taking since there is no name or ID on the sticks).
You may now take a 10 minute rest to recover Stamina, if you would like.
Feel free to do that, or not, as you see fit!
After taking some time to rest, you press onward and up some shallow hills to what, at first, seems like the eye of the storms - but then you realize instead is actually a large area that is shielded from the storms using some form of tech from the compound ahead of you!
A large modular outpost (in a style used by the Pact Worlds a couple of centuries ago) stands atop the hill overlooking the ravines and forests. The circular structures appear to be about 20 feet in height while the corridors are only 15 feet tall. All of the walls are made of sturdy prefabricated polymer-plastic material.
The doorway to the outpost hangs open, the locking mechanism apparently having been broken away in the storm.
Debris litters the floor of this otherwise empty chamber. The floor paneling has been ripped up in several areas, revealing the same ground as the exterior. The door to the west sits halfway open, leading outside. The doors to the north and south remain securely closed.
The map is updated! You can still declare your SP-recovery rest and any checks you'd like to make following the storm, too!

Eh! That's a Trailblazer Weapon Fusion Seal! That's cool.
Says Gargalus looking at the ring on the chain.
No idea what's the other one...
Gargalus will use a 10mn rest to recover from the storm. -1 RP

No 10m rest, keeping the RP.
Engineering (Identify Tech) DC 11: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Oh, handy! This is a trailblazer weapon fusion seal. It's easily transferrable between weapons, but only those up to a certain power level. It causes weapons to work better despite environmental effects, even underwater. I think I might give it a try...
Darkrunner takes a minute and affixes it to his laser pistol.

Kima will take the small glowing one in her hand and look at it intently Detect Magic and attempt to figure out anything about it.
Mysticism: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20

Julakesh laughs in the face of rest! A-HAH! A-HAH!
At the doors to the outpost Julakesh stomps her way inside. She gives the air a sniff, and looks around.
"COME OUT!" she bellows! "I desire a challenge!" She waits to see if anything answers....
Suddenly she laughs. "A-HAH! A-HAH!"
She looks around the room for signs of recent use.

Kima, you do have time to regain stamina before proceeding, even after healing the native scout.
Upon entry, both Gab and Julakesh see a security camera on the ceiling, covered in a black plastic dome that makes it difficult to tell if it is currently active or not. The vesk solarian, however, also notices that a panel of the wall opposite the entry door contains a laser turret trap!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 DC 15
There is enough time for Julakesh to point the trap out to Gab, who is able to locate and disarm the motion sensors that activate alarms throughout the complex as well as activate said laser turret!
I figure Gab would disarm the trap Julakesh found.
Other than the laser turret security system (with a Veylen Enterprises logo on them), there is nothing else of note in this chamber.
Gab is able to easily unlock the southern door, revealing a short hallway that ends in a door that does not look like it has a locking mechanism (but is still closed).

![]() |

"A-HAH! A-HAH! I HAVE SAVED YOU ALL!" Julakesh remarks with pride. She claps Gab hard on the shoulder. "Well, done! You break the wires and panels as well as a vesk whelp breaks bones! You should be proud!"
Apparently this is a compliment.
Caring little for which direction the group goes, Julakesh stalks over to the first door to be opened and walks right through. She's fine going whichever direction the others decide.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20

![]() |

"Thanks, big guy. You saved my bacon, that's for sure." He smiles, and it seems genuine, at least.

![]() |

You have both internal doors open now, as Gargalus easily unlocks his. Which direction shall it be - North or South?

![]() |

What is the lighting situation?

![]() |

Darkrunner follows along behind Julakesh.
Julakesh, you are very brave but I think we should also be a little quiet and careful as we go along. There's no need to announce our presence to the entire complex, or fortress or whatever this is.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Kima will walk up to the building after taking a moment to catch her breath refresh stamina. If there is not any apparent light or only low-light she'll pull out her flashlight.

Gab pulls a frag grenade I and his tactical pistol, holding both at the ready to confront whatever is on the other side of the door. He does, however, stand a bit back, giving the melee fighters plenty of room to get near the door.

Gargalus opens the door and inside you all see an L-shaped plastic table and accompanying chairs that are haphazardly shoved in the northwest area of this circular space. Doors exit to the south and east of this chamber, empty except for two small bipedal robots that immediately react to the door being opened by raising their weapons!
