Karrik |

Karrik grimaces, kicking his boot to sling an inordinate amount of spider goop into the corner. "I'm not the best aim, so why don't we spread these vials around. Everyone should take at least one. Whoever attacks the swarm is likely to be attacked immediately, so I'd prefer if Miss Kendra's spell is a secondary or even tertiary attack."
He shakes his head, uttering a single word and tapping his boots and pants. The goop slides off like oil from water, leaving his clothes cleaner than when he came down the stairs. "Unless someone has any other thoughts."
Flori, why don't you at least take a few of these vials? Two of each should give you some options if we run into some more problems.

Theron Adrezi |

I dunno girl... Dragomir looks over at Flori a bit suspiciously, Will this spell make me go berserk? I'm not sure I want to go into a rage down here, truth be told..., he cleans his fingers of sludge on his trousers before scratching his head, not sure how I feel about someone usin' some sort of 'witchcraft' on me to make me get all enraged like... hows it work when a fella is tossing flasks of fire around?
"Depends on the type of rage... maybe it will just make you extremely focused," Theron adds while still marveling at the fact that it seems that almost everyone missed the sword that went flying at him. Maybe they had been too in awe at Dragomir's display of prowess. The inquisitor continues to eye Walter as he waits for the man to come up with some sort of explanation.

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

Quite, Kendra says, amused. It would make for a less-than-delightful experience, I imagine. I can cast burning hands if necessary--that should do for most of them. The alchemist's fire could also be useful. But whatever we decide, let's do it quickly. I am beginning to wish I wore more clothing. She shivers in the cold of the tomb.
Rajuna slips his knife into his belt as he takes off his burnoose. While the debate on how to handle the swarm continues, he walks over and throws it over Kendra's shoulders, then he pulls the hood onto her head for good measure... and for whimsy's sake he tosses the end of the scarf so it wraps around the lower half of her face. He eyes the slender mage who is practically swimming in his clothes and tries not to smile. "Not bad - near the worst hard-eyed, throat-cutting bravo I ever seen." He returns to the sarcophagus and waits for the 'go'. Kendra smells a not-unpleasant male mustiness imbedded in the burnoose.

Theron Adrezi |

Theron readies a vial of alchemist's fire in one hand, and a vial of acid in the other. "Whatever we do, let's try and time our throws and spells so that they hit the spiders outside of the sarcophagus. Assuming the weapons might be in there, we don't want to damage them." Just stating this in case it wasn't already obvious. Action prepared to throw the alchemist's fire when the spiders when they come out of the sarcophagus and onto the floor.

Karrik |

Karrik takes up a position in the area Rajuna suggested, giving the Varisian's playful gift to Kendra a clouded look. Pulling an Alchemist's fire vial from his pack, he offers a vial to anyone who doesn't have one. "Do we all want to throw? Or set up a que? The latter seems the most resource-efficient?"
I figure we designate two people as the primary swarm attackers (Theron being one of them), then the rest of us ready actions to throw/cast depending on whether the swarm continues to survive. Our most dextrous characters should go first, Karrik and whoever is the other clumsiest going last.

Lem Longbarrow |

Not counting bless or inspire courage I have a +4 to throw stuff. Maybe I can start a sermon right before we open the tomb. If it's not dead in one round I'll continue the sermon and throw on round two. Or if we think we need more firepower I can start preaching one round earlier and join the throwers on the first (and hopefully only) round of combat. That might be better.

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

Raj grows a little concerned at the seeming lack of confidence in the room. He leaves his dagger in his belt and pulls out his own flask of Alchemist's Fire as a final measure if every other throw and spell goes awry.

Kendra A. Lorrimor |

Kendra, now wrapped up in Raj's burnoose, gives him a nod of thanks. She fingers the end of the scarf as she considers everyone's position.
Kendra's Knowledge (nature) check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
To be honest, she says, I am no fan of spiders--and bugs in general. But I do know that spiders like these ones usually hunt by feeling vibrations through the ground. They will likely make their way towards whatever they can detect that's moving, so Rajuna should be safe so long as he stays still, and we stomp on the ground or something similar--although just walking around should be enough.
"Whatever we do, let's try and time our throws and spells so that they hit the spiders outside of the sarcophagus. Assuming the weapons might be in there, we don't want to damage them."
"Do we all want to throw? Or set up a que? The latter seems the most resource-efficient?"
Quite right...why don't we set up here...
See the updated map:
Kendra suggests readying an action in the surprise round and then executing it when the swarm is ten feet away:
- standard action: cast spell or throw alchemist's fire.
- move action: head back up the stairs and get into the other room. Failing anything else, you can shut the doors on the spider swarm and everyone should be safe--except for Raj, and perhaps he can just dodge his way out.
This way, each rank of two gets to make an attack and then escape. Dragomir and Karrik go last--not because they are clumsy so much as because they have the most hit points.
Alternatively, you could throw when the swarm is fifteen feet away, but at a -2 penalty for being over the range increment. That way, though, there's no risk of the flask landing in your square on a miss.
Alternatively alternatively, you could target grid intersections at AC 5, and just deal the splash damage to the swarm (a single point each time--two if the grid intersection is next to two squares occupied by the swarm--which takes up a 10 ft. by 10 ft. area). If the rest of you haven't killed the swarm off it might be a good idea for the last couple to do this rather than try to hit the swarm itself.
Kendra relates all this in-character--but it would take too much for me to write it out and make it understandable!

Carrion Crown GM |

Karrik wrote:Karrik and whoever is the other clumsiest going last.Probably Walter? ;) *readies action to dodge ghost flung flasks of acid*
As it turns out, Karrik has a Dex of 12 and everyone else is 14 with the exception of Lem (16), Theron (17) and Raj (18). You should just make sure Walter has ample time to retrieve his flask of alchemist's fire. ; )

Karrik |

Karrik sheathes his blade, hefting the alchemist's fire in his other hand as he heads to the back of the group. "I'm ready when everyone else is."
I realize you gave two options, but honestly, I don't care all that much. I say we line up, get in group of two, and throw our flask/spell if the previous group misses. If we have this many attacks -- all triggered in staggered waves -- and we can't take these things out... then no amount of planning can save us from our sucky rolls.

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

So if these beasties are attracted to vibration, Raj will be the one making a racket with his running... so I'll play the hare and circle the room while you guys polish this swarm off. I'm hoping it doesn't take more than one round. Raj didn't bring his track shoes. :)

Lem Longbarrow |

A sound plan, Ms. Lorrimor. Let's get on with it, then. Waiting won't make the task any less dangerous. Karrik, do you have one more vial of acid I could use?
Then Lem's voice rose in a crescendo, echoing throughout the crypt.
...and so the Spider King cowered in the dark places, sending forth his progeny to do his bidding. They covered the land like a black tide, but their father's cursed was passed onto them as well, and the good people banished them with light and fire back into the dark places.
Before opening the tomb I'll stow my crossbow, draw my acid vial, and draw a second one if I get it from Karrik. Then I'll inspire courage again. I'll ready action to throw the first vial in the surprise round.

Carrion Crown GM |

All right, let's get this thing started then, shall we?
Hope nobody minds if I move things on a little.
Round -1
With everyone lined up with a flask of acid or alchemist's fire in hand, and Kendra's eyes looking intense over the scarf around her mouth, Lem begins a sermon, invoking the courage of Desna once more.
At a nod from Kendra, Raj pushes the lid of the sarcophagus open once more...
Surprise Round
Everyone hefts their flask in anticipation. Kendra's spell crackles on her fingertips once more. Raj bolts away from the sarcophagus, his normally-quiet footfalls echoing in the quiet of the tomb.
Round 1
Team PC wins initiative automatically--but everyone waits until the swarm exits the sarcophagus before making a move (actions readied).
The spiders pour out, making straight for the PCs near the steps...

Kendra A. Lorrimor |

Kendra fans her hands out as the spiders approach, then pronounces a single word of arcane power when they draw near. Flames gush from her outstretched hands, washing over the spiders as they approach.
Damage from burning hands: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 × 1.5 = 9
Swarm's Reflex save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
As the flames gush over the spiders, they shrivel under the heat--many of them making popping noises as they explode. What they lack in durability, however, they make up for in sheer numbers, and many of the creatures are protected by their dying brethren (they made their Reflex save).
Kendra hurries to the top of the stairs, her job done.
Disposition Update
The spider swarm is now Wounded. Its numbers seem to have been reduced by about half.
Theron is up next--if anyone else wants to make their attack while they're available, feel free and we'll work out what really happened at the end.

Carrion Crown GM |

Second acid vial going to Lem. Karrik has one in-hand, leaving 3 Alchemist's fire and 2 acids. Anyone else? Flori? Walter?
I am happy to assume that anyone has whatever they say they have--so long as we don't overdraw on the resources available (i.e. we don't use more than 5 vials of acid and 6 flasks of alchemist's fire in total). We can sort that out as we go.
This round, by the way, will end 23 hours from now, or when the spider swarm is dead, whichever is sooner. : )

Theron Adrezi |

Seeing that Kendra's spell, while effective, wasn't enough to kill the spiders by itself, Theron tosses his flask of alchemist's fire...
Thrown alchemist's fire1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 12 (Point blank, inspire, bless) barely!
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6 + 50% = 9 (I'm assuming this won't get inspire/point blank bonuses)
The flask flies, and though he almost misses his toss the damage is still done. The inquisitor quickly moves out of the way so that everyone else can make their throws as well. He still has a flask of acid in his other hand. Moves to A8

Lem Longbarrow |

The priest continues his diatribe against the dark spawn of the spider king as he hurls a vial of acid, but his focus is more on his sermon than the throw and his throwing arm is a bit out of use.
Acid throw at swarm, targeting F-4, -2 for extra range increment, +1 bless, +1 IC, +3 Dex, +1 Size 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
damage 1d6 ⇒ 6 x 1.5 = 9
Splash direction 1d8 ⇒ 3
The vial slips from his hand as he throws, but Lem still watches with confidence as the missed throw lands directly next to the spider swarm anyway in square D-4, I believe dealing 2 damage, though I don't know how the 1.5 damage works with splash .
Skill is handy, but nothing next to the whims of the Great Dreamer.
He smiles as he retreats back to the statue room to square F-14, 40 ft movement , shouting encouragement with his booming voice to his companions.

Theron Adrezi |

Remember, if we somehow can't kill these things with all these flasks, we can resort to torches ;)
So, how much extra burn damage is the swarm going to take from all this alchemist's fire? Normally something hit with alchemist's fire takes an extra 1d6 he next round. Or are we not going to get that because any individual spider that is actually hit dies automatically?

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

Theron's throw finishes the spiders off. That was somewhat anticlimactic. ; )
I will make a post shortly detailing the outcomes of the fight--and then what you find in the sarcophagus. : )
Right! I'll just start leveling up my character right now... ;p

You'd like that, wouldn't you? ; )
Round 1 Narrative
As Kendra moves back up the stairs, Theron throws his flask of alchemist's fire--and whether it's nerves or just a bad throw, it barely lands on target. Fortunately, the liquid splashes out in such a way that it engulfs most of the swarm, and the squeaking and popping of individual spiders continues as the flames roast them alive.
Lem, just about to make his throw, lowers his flask.
Just like a barbeque... ; )

Dragomir Vuk |

Second acid vial going to Lem. Karrik has one in-hand, leaving 3 Alchemist's fire and 2 acids. Anyone else? Flori? Walter?
I will take one of each. Funnily enough I was up until 5am ish local and checking for updates but it looks like the fun all went down around 7-9am local time.
HOT DAMNATION, Dragomir exclaimed as fire shot from Kendra's fingers, the expression born of surprise rather than any attempt at witticism. Flask held in each hand he watched firery death engulf hundreds of the little crawlies and then floods of liquid fire all but exterminate the rest.
Coughing slightly from the smoke and stench of burned spider he raised one arm against the heat.

Carrion Crown Loot Pile |

A note: I quite like the idea of having to identify magical objects using detect magic and Spellcraft, but in order to make life a little less tedious, I don't require rolls for items that have a caster level lower than or equal to your number of ranks in Spellcraft.
You will be able to identify scrolls directly with read magic, provided they're written in a magical language you know.
I hope that makes sense!
If, in the future, you'd like me to make all those Spellcraft rolls for you, let me know and I can do it when you uncover something new.
Sarcophagus Contents
Amongst the shed skins and other detritus from the spider swarm, you find the following:
- 12 × alchemical silver arrows
- 4 × sunrods
- 6 × flasks of holy water
- 10 × magical arrows (Type A: faint transmutation aura)
- 5 × magical arrows (Type B: moderate conjuration and faint transmutation aura)
- 2 × magical arrows (Type C: moderate conjuration and faint transmutation aura)
- 5 × potions of cure light wounds (automatically identified)
- 2 × potions (faint conjuration aura)
- 1 × scroll of detect undead
- 2 × scrolls of hide from undead
- 1 × scroll of protection from evil
- 1 × thin darkwood case (more info below)
Once you blow the dust and other unmentionable material off the case, you can see a symbol painted on it--it's the same symbol as on the purple book back at the Professor's residence: a scarab with an eye on its back. The case itself is around 16" tall by 12" wide, and around 3" thick.
After checking for traps (you take 20 and find none), you open the case to reveal a padded velvet interior. On the left side are five vials. Each is made of lead glass, with a cold iron casing bearing stylised runes and depictions of malevolent creatures; each also has a cold iron stopper at the top in the shape of a leering skull. Each contains a wisp of white vapour that gyrates softly as though a cloud had been captured. There are three empty indentations on the left where vials were once stored. The vials radiate a faint necromantic aura.
On the right side of the case is a hinged timber board, that, when folded out, displays the Varisian alphabet and the numbers 0-9 in the middle, an archon, a whippoorwill, and a devil at the top, and the words 'yes' and 'no' in Varisian at the bottom. Also included is a small brass object shaped like a heart with a hole missing in the centre. The timber board is non-magical, but the piece of brass radiates moderate divination.
(All up, that's six items you don't yet know the function of.)

Dragomir Vuk |

I wanted to tell the Church earlier but now that we are here? 'In for a Copper Penny, In for a Gold Mark', as the saying goes. I'd say we take all of it and return what we don't use later... I've my own reasons for believing the Lady of Graves smiles on this venture and I reckon She's fine with us taking this lot.
Anyone know what the case and that boardgame thingy does?

Rose Springdawn |

"I'll go ahead and see if I can't identify a few of these items while we talk."
Type A arrows: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Type B arrows: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Type C arrows: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Potions: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Vials: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
Piece of Brass: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Kendra A. Lorrimor |

Kendra leans in as you examine the Type C arrows.
Kendra's Aid Another Spellcraft check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Hmm...what if you try following this thread of energy...
When you turn your attention to the potions, Kendra asks for one to look at with you.
Kendra's Aid Another Spellcraft check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Ah ha...I think there's some resonance just...there...
###
The rest? You have no idea. ; ) Fortunately, Kendra is a diviner, so she's well placed to work this out if the party needs the help.

Carrion Crown GM |

All right, while we're in a bit of an interval between the crypt and the next thing, why don't you tell me what you do when you leave the crypt--do you clean up? Put the lock back on the door? Try to cover your tracks? Let me know. It's currently around 4:30am--the dairy farmers might be up and about but none live near here. Periodic undead infestations aren't good for the cattle. ; )
Also, you can tell me where you're going first: the sheriff or the Temple. You'll need to visit both.
You can assume you make it back to Kendra's safely with no incident. We will start your conversation with the Sheriff/Iona tomorrow morning my time. : )

Dragomir Vuk |

Dragomir agrees with Rose nodding But lets be clever about any attempt at recompense - slipping old Father Grimburrow a pouch of coins with a nod and a wink may not go down well...
He groans and stretches.
I'm fer' bed... lots to do in a few hours - Lem? You take me to the Church with you when you see that Acolyte and we'll see if we can't soften her up some with that thingy that Kendra said you could give her.
I'll sneak back as best I can in this lot, he says indicating his armour
I'll take the benefit of making it back without incident - the skill checks on Banded Mail are horrible. I figure Rajuna will come up with something all cunning like for the door on the way out.
After arriving home and stripping out of his armour, he takes care to clean his equipment - not the methodical approach of a parade soldier but the simple care of a professional who knows it costs a lot more to repair his equipment rather than maintain it, and who knows the longer that maintenance is delayed, the harder it is to do. As he goes through the motions he thinks on the events in the Crypt and on his new companions.
They seem a fine bunch but damn me if they ain't a strange bunch... still, they do well and seem decent enough after all... Who can tell? Maybe they ARE decent and I just gotta cut 'em some slack?.
Thankfully the worst of it is a burr in the blade and the gunk on his boots. Sod it, boots can wait until tomorrow, the Ustalav mercenary decides and gives the burr a quick bit of attention with the Whetstone... trying as best he can to be quiet about it.
His job done, he does something he hasn't done in a long time... as the black night turns to silver grey dawn, Dragomir prays in gratitude.

Theron Adrezi |

My idea for leaving is the following: put lock back on door, cover tracks. Make it look like we were visiting the professor's grave. Actually, let's visit the grave for real so we don't have to lie!
Theron smiles as he imagines just what these magical arrows might be capable of. "Here, let me see if I can help identify these..."
Type B arrows: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 (would it be metagaming to save this for a higher ID roll? ;) )
Type C arrows: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Piece of Brass: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
"As for how to deal with the items when we are done... I agree with Rose that we should compensate the church somehow. However, I question the value of returning the leftovers," Theron says. "Unfortunately, by making sure we *can* help by doing this secretly, we can no longer tell the church that these items even exist. If we return them, no one may ever know that they are here and they could simply go to waste. Well, I suppose we could somehow 'inform' the church of this cashe, but in that case we'll have to remove all evidence that we've been here."

Carrion Crown GM |

The rest, you still have no idea. Rose's rolls on those were so low you're better off trying to make rolls on your own. : )
EDIT: Well, maybe except for the brass thingummy. It might be harder to make the roll on your own than pile up +2s from Aid Another, you just need a lot of +2s.
EDIT 2: Alternatively, you could ask Kendra to cast identify. She could even write a scroll for you. : )

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

As a matter of course, Raj looks through the sarcophagus to see if there is a secret panel or anything else hidden therein.
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 I'll call that a 'no'. :)
"We can try to sweep this dust around to conceal our numbers and prints, but I don't think we can disguise the fact that someone was here. We'll have to trust that torched lock."
I'd shoot for obscuring our prints and heading out.

Walter Vheist |

Walter, I am still happy for you to make your post retroactively. One post out of order shouldn't get us too confused. : )
Thank you thank you. Very glad everyone here doesn't run full-bore on the weekends or else I'd get even further behind.
When Theron jumped after seeing his longsword go flying, Walter shook his head. "No, no spirits. I'm just," he said, and Kendra asked him he was okay. "I'm fine, it's alright."
In regards to the flying sword, he said "That just, um, happens sometimes. Sorry. My fault."
While everyone else talked strategy, Walter soothed the voices, allowing them to recede back into the dark corners of his mind.
I'd honestly imagine than knowing that there are people who are possessed by ghosts and given magic by unseen strange spirits and forces would be a DC 20 Knowledge (religion), so I want to say that Theron probably wouldn't know Walter was an oracle.
He probably does know he's damn suspicious, though. >>;
My, says Kendra. I wonder how the church could have forgotten so many things stored here? She picks up the brass object, turning it over in her hands.
Walter eyed the symbol on the case. "I'm not sure if it was the church who put them here," he offered, intentionally vague. He wondered if he should tell them what he knew, but he wondered if the Professor would want him to tell everyone. He wondered if the Church of Pharasma had ever even known about this cache at all.
Things were hazy, sleepy, tired. And he had to meet Vesmera in the morning. He tried to decide if he should sleep and try to wake up in time, or if he should just spend the entire night awake.
Walter is the master of spellcraft but doesn't have detect magic because I made a bad choice, so, sorry guys! I'm also fine with just obscuring our tracks and taking off.

Carrion Crown GM |

On obscuring prints, someone make a Survival check. Theron has the best bonus, followed by Karrik and then Dragomir. You can feel free to aid another if you like, but I'd suggest Theron should direct--unless one of the others eclipses his roll, which I'd characterise as "hey Theron, why are you doing it that way? Shouldn't we do this instead?" ; )
If you want to reset the lock to make it look like it's whole again, try a Disable Device check. You can take 20 on that if you want, but it will take two minutes to do--so if you want to take 20 then make a Stealth check instead and I'll go from there.

Dragomir Vuk |

Aid Another survival 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Dragomir helps as best he can, hoiking the larger spider bits into the sarcophagius and the smoothing over the burn marks.

Kendra A. Lorrimor |

Kendra listens to everyone's plans to cover their tracks at the crypt.
If it's help with the lock you need, I can write you a scroll of mending in the morning. It might look a little odd if I were out and about skulking through the Restlands in the middle of the night, but since you are all from out of town, the locals are more likely to be forgiving of your...eccentricities. Plus they probably have plenty of suspicions about you already. She smiles.
And Raj, thanks for the lend of this...what is it? She has pulled the scarf down so her face is no longer obscured. I can't say I'm familiar with this style of clothing.

Karrik |

Survival (Aid Another) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13.
Karrik takes a break from helping obscure their presence in the crypt to help Rose and Kendra identify the remaining items.
Type C - aid another for Rose 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Vials 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Piece of brass on timber board 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22.
Between castings, Karrik looks up at the article of clothing in question, "I believe the technical term for that particular item is a head-thingy."

Lem Longbarrow |

Well done, everyone! I see my share of troubles on the road, but I haven't felt my heart racing like that in...quite some time.
The priest studies the case with interest, examining the pictures on the vials in an attempt to identify what creatures they depict.
Not sure if Know (Religion) will work, but I doubt Know (Local) will, so I'll try it out.
Vial 1: Know (Religion) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Vial 2: Know (Religion) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Vial 3: Know (Religion) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Vial 4: Know (Religion) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Vial 5: Know (Religion) 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Man, Karrik is a spellcrafting MACHINE :-)

Theron Adrezi |

Nice rolls Karrik! If Flori throws in some aid rolls too, we'll probably have pretty much all of it.
When Theron jumped after seeing his longsword go flying, Walter shook his head. "No, no spirits. I'm just," he said, and Kendra asked him he was okay. "I'm fine, it's alright."
In regards to the flying sword, he said "That just, um, happens sometimes. Sorry. My fault."
I find it funny that your character probably attracted the attention of the worst possible (or best possible) person with that flying sword XD (I hope I calculated the direction properly at least)
"That 'happens sometimes'?" Theron repeats. "Sometimes your stuff simply goes flying at people?" The inquisitor's piercing gaze lingers on Walter for a while, but after a few moments he inexplicably relents. "Interesting..." Something about his tone tells you that he intends to bring this up again later.
Later on, as we are leaving...
"Alright, we have to make sure no one knows that we came here. I'll do my best to cover up the tracks, but any help will be appreciated."
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 (That's 22 so far with Dragomir and Karrik helping)
Theron organizes his help together, and using a combination of cloth and tree branches they clean their footprints off of the stone right in front of the crypt's door. After that, they backtrack to the professor's grave, covering their tracks so that there isn't a huge trail of footprints that suddenly ends near the crypt. In the end, anyone who follows their trail will only think that the party had made an early morning trip to the professor's grave.
We'll be doing this part quickly at a point where we don't see anyone around. With enough helpers, we could probably do this so quickly that we don't even have to make stealth checks. At least that's the plan... just tell me if the distance is too large cyn. No point in covering up the entire trail if someone would probably see us doing it, lol!

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

"And Raj, thanks for the lend of this...what is it? She has pulled the scarf down so her face is no longer obscured. I can't say I'm familiar with this style of clothing."
Between castings, Karrik looks up at the article of clothing in question, "I believe the technical term for that particular item is a head-thingy."
Raj snorts a laugh, "It's modeled off a Qadiran jubba cloak, only shorter. It keeps ya warm, breaks up yur silhouette, and doubles for lots of purposes. I've used it for camouflage and a windbreak once. I had the scarf stitched in so ya can't lose it at the wrong time."
He turns to watch the learned folks decipher what the different items do, with a trace of envy.

Rajuna Two-Fangs |

Later... to avoid holding up the action
First in, last out - that's the way of it.
Sure that Theron has scouted the area so they can exit unwatched, Raj steps out, closes the crypt door quietly, and takes his time to trip the lock so it looks untouched. He glances around at the rather large group in the early morning light. "This will take a minute. You folks might want to start headin' back. No sense all of us gettin' pinched here. I'll follow along."
