If it helps, I thought your post was awesome. Hey, we're not in gameplay, I don't have to hate you here.

You don't have to hate him there, either.

Your gut demands one thing.
Your mind knows better.

True, but he's going to be torn on it at the very least. Wanting to want to be around someone is tricky. Especially if you want to be around someone, but really can't stand their face. At least this much will be interesting.

Knowladge (local) DC 10 for strix.

So I added the bonuses to my 6 scores. Haven't changed to new stats yet.

Do I add anything else? Natural armor, weapons (and damage to those?) Special abilities?

I was worried that I might not qualify for my familiar, but I'm good.

I had plans for other races. Like strix or lizard folk he would've wanted to repopulate and give their race a second chance.

If he was turned small, was going mounted warrior type feats, riding the fearsome Battle-Coon. Might still do that with undersized mount. Think that needs dex, however, and that is now definitely not my forte.

I'll have to drop a skill. Probably know nature, because it's pretty much useless now. Only reason I had a feat in it was to qualify for familiar.

Don't forget we can retrain some things, although I'm not familiar enough with them off hand to know how that will help in specific situations. Is the raccoon a familiar or animal companion?

Why's know (nature) useless?

Anyway, you gain natural armor ...

Of +6. Holy crap.

You gain a stench aura.

2 1d4 claws and a 1d4 bite.

Gonna keep the stench aura off. More debilitating to the allies than my enemies.

Know Nature is useless as my Int just got even lower. Total 5 now...

Why are the natural weapons the same damage?

And do I substitute a regular claw for a gem claw?

Natural armor is good. Basic armor and flat foot improve greatly as my touch gets even worse.

All the trogy avi's suck, so I'm gonna keep my bear trap.

Checked something.

You have a point of natural armor.

Also, size bouns applies to flat-footed ac as well.

Ok, looking at the lizard man race; and I'm not sure which one to use. I've found three versions so far. One from "Advanced Races: Lizardfolk" book I just bought, and two different versions on PFSRD.

Here are the other two:

lizardfolk from Paizo Fans United

fan based Lizardfolk built using the advanced race guide rules

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

I was just using the last one.

If you've got something in the book you want to use, tell me, and I'll probobly be ok with it.

He's the big blue one.

Sorry for casting Wall of Text, but I thought it would be fun to be descriptive.

Chose to have him become one instead of getting a second body, since she wanted him to feel it. Also simplifies keeping his gem.

The higher Wis lower Int will be reflected in a deeper natural connection, but less value for social niceties, as in probably not going to start wearing clothes again. Not worth trying to get them big enough, and for some reason, he can't bring himself to care what people think anymore...

I thought you were a troglodyte, not a Lizardfolk.

Edit: I guess they're almost identical.

Looks like troglodytes average 5' tall and 130-150 pounds, and typically have a crest that starts at their head and follows their spine.

Lizardfolk stand 6-7' tall and weigh 200-250 pounds, typically with no crest.

M Extrodinaraly Contrary Meatbag Fourm pyromancer 1

They are a lot alike.

Save the horrid oil secretions, primal nature, and size, they're almsot the same.

I feel like the troglodyte would be bigger.

I just seems that way. I always pictured lizard folk as not being very big.

Male (M) Hobgoblin magus 3

I sorted the races in my head to which ones I wanted the most

7&15=desperately want

1,2,4,8, 10-13: decent

3, 14, 9 requires major reworking of the character,

5&6 proclaim your despair to the heavens, then rework the character and move on (if I could use the medium goblin variant, then it moves to the previous category)

There wasn't a much better race for me.

Once I can get Negate Aroma permanenced, it's perfect.

To be fair, it's quite a good thing for combat.

Social anything? Not so much.

I mean, your party will be immune to the aura very quickly at the start of every day.

They get a save a round, and once they pass, they're immune for the rest of the day.

Male (M) Hobgoblin magus 3

There are other penalties, for instance the circumstance penalties to perception checks made to smell anything other than you, but that almost never comes up, unless someone in the party has scent.

Tavi's get scent, if I didn't mention that.

But I looked it up. No penalty to scent creautres at all.

Male (M) Hobgoblin magus 3

Other than the "unfavorable conditions" -2 to 5 on scent based perception checks (it's in the rules for the perception skill)

Ah.

Right.

Well, I'd suspect that it would be -2 once you got used to it.

Male (M) Hobgoblin magus 3

Most of us will generally not be making scent based perception checks very often
Those that are will have a bonus higher than the penalty so it's fine
If you say it goes down to -2 after a bit, awesome, but Irma not that bigs deal

As a note-

As long as it doesn't turn into actual pvp (with the goal actually being to kill the other chsrecter) Thematic fighting is fine.

I was just stating that stuff like this is allowed if it is done in good nature.

And this clearly is.

It's a foul oil. It's likely more like nazel burning then just a horrid stench.

Like smelling a strong acid.
