Living a simple life in the modern world, no major ups or downs, no high class job, not the life of the party, not the best or nicest of anything...almost a completely grey shaded life. The only color had in this life was the library. Going there every chance that was had, pouring hours into all kinds of fantasy books. Escaping from a dull, listless life into a world of dragons, magic, ancient forgotten languages, mysterious quests, treasure and so much more. This escape would last only so long, for libraries close, books must be re-shelved and homes must be returned to.
This escape continues for some time, countless world are visited, numberless quests commenced, endless enthralling characters fall into endearment...so very many books completed. One fated day, in the back area of the library, a large, old, tattered book is found, it's leather cover scented with age and reminds the senses of forests, rivers, and wildlife, the ridge of the pages, yellowed with age and lack of use, brushing the dust from the cover, the title can be read. Sounding out the gold pressed letters, the words are said, "Yaara Ndor". Wonder and amazement fill the mind as memory wanders to stories that where read. The bound books buckle opens with relative ease and the pages open simply, revealing what looks like hand written script of the same language. Reading aloud, what looks like a short introduction, the words are sounded out, the utterance being, "Entula a' i' yaara ndor tuulo' coiasira ar' haiyasse lenne an ar' lann." Immediately, the book begins to emit a growing light of blueish green hue, and just before the book can be closed to quench the surprising light, it flashes blindingly bright.
The light dissipating and book still open in hands outstretched...but the scene is no longer that of a library in the city known. In its place is a large ancient stone temple surrounded by lush, vibrant jungle life and a cacophony of wildlife sounds. The wonder and amazement felt before are overshadowed easily by any portion of what is felt now. It can only be assumed that this place is what the book was possibly talking about. No information is had, no knowledge granted. Coming to notice more of the surroundings, what looks like a wolf on two legs stand a short distance from the other side of the book. Looking down to close its pages, holding it to the side, looking back up...a little more focus is had. A very lithe, athletic man wearing the skin and even the skull of a wolf for armor, standing with a very unique looking spear in his hand. He does not seem hostile, but instead, a little expectant. Pointing to himself he says, "Lanx Kotan" ...than he widely motions for the same response...from you.

My character will be the guide through this strange land. I will DM/GM through OOC and In Game conversation. The character has foreknowledge of this place and so he can provide insight but he does not speak enough of your language to tell you more than basic information, anything else must be gained through use of Knowledge skills. You can gain knowledge skills from having read through adventures of similar places, creatures, landscapes, languages, etc. similar to how a character in any other campaign gains knowledge skills by studying in that area usually through texts or experiences. This world is extremely expansive and open, I have taken more than a decade mapping it out and planning countless quests of different skill levels and aptitudes. You can go anywhere and have quests available. I will open some quests up that are for higher levels if you all seem capable at taking the challenge. Please, take care to post with good show of intellect and character usage, as I am sure you already will. Thank you for considering this campaign.

Pathfinder rules system, simplified. If you come to me with an understandable character that I can visualize into this realm (which is honestly extremely easy to do (present to me a good character that is) for most characters) than I will work with you on that characters insertion.
We will be starting at lvl 1 so any character that can fit into that is welcome...but know that you will be in danger of your life if you do not make smart moves. If your character a meat shield with zero brains, than maybe let the mage with an 18 INT or the Cleric with 18 WIS take the lead. I strongly suggest that we have at least one PC with Draconic and one with Elvish. That is going to be the extent of the meta gaming pre-game.
In your characters back story...it would absolutely amazing if you would include their life before being transported to the land in the book. Such as job, studies (school), hobbies, etc. so that we can get a feel for the character we are meeting in Yaara Ndor.

Interesting. Since we started out in the modern world, I'll just make an autobiographical character based entirely on me, if you don't mind. I've always felt that this was an interesting way to go about character creation.
I blinked at the strange wolf-man holding a spear. Luckily he wasn't hostile, because I didn't feel comfortable defending myself against someone who was armed like that. I pointed at my own chest. "Kannar," I replied, instantly defaulting to my normal online character alias for when I play in fantasy video games like Skyrim.
I looked around me, my analytical brain already trying to take in as many details as I can. In Elder Scrolls games, there are signs on the temples to denote the religious deity worshipped inside, I thought to myself, trying to apply as much logic as I could to this confusing situation. I glanced around at the stone temple I found myself in, looking for markings. I also look down at myself, noting if I myself have changed as well, or if I was simply transported, modern clothes at all, into this strange world.
My name is Matthew, I was thinking I'd play a Sorcerer with a Draconic bloodline, and I'll roll up the crunch and make a proper alias if you like what I've written so far.

...in for a penny, in for a pound.
Name: Obadiah James Smith, Parochial Vicar
Race: Male Human aged 29
Class: Cleric
Alignment: LG
Backstory: As was tradition in our family, I devoted myself to the Church. I completed a bachelor of religious studies, and was assigned to a quiet bout devout parish to assist the priest, Maxwell.
Personality: All throughout my years I retained a strong fascination for the tales and fables in and around the bible. David and Goliath, Moses and his people, King David and King Solomon. I dared to dream of myself in those ancient days, as either a warrior of god or a common preacher, tasting the fresh air of the holy land and the crucible of my religion. A silly fancy, but one that has long persisted within me and my frequent visits to the parish library.
Intro: I blink as I look around men; the strange wolf man, the alien temple and sudden jungle. "Lord have mercy upon me, is this judgement, temptation...?" Sizing up the man and his spear, fascinated by the tiny details of his ancient garb, I stammer out, "Ob... Obadiah." I feel for my cross and grip it so tight my knuckles turn white.

That, my dear traveler, was the entire idea. It fills a certain field never thought of for this genre of game and provides for a more immersive game, in my opinion.

Do make sure to post your stats in your character sheet. Level 1... Human preferred. 20 point buy. Paizo official SRD Compatibility. You can talk with me about any special requests. You are more likely to be approved, the more believable your character. 500g starting, basic items, starting as third party races is not preferred...but we can talk about it.

I like both characters. The backstory of playing Skyrim fits well enough for learning Draconic. You can take that language. Your background opens up priest, cleric and paladin. It's your choice where to go with that. I like both openers. Do keep in mind when the game starts you will need to have your fist post be a response to Lanx the character.

3.5 and other games may be cross compatible with this game, but it is best to try to remain close to Pathfinder SRD. You will be starting with 200 gold gifted by the temple and you can buy starting items. You start with whatever you had on you in the library when you picked up that book. You may bring whatever you like from the modern world, but I can easily assure you, you will likely make it out of the temple with virtually nothing from that era.

Hooboy. My name is Alex. I'm a big guy with an anger problem that makes me glad I've never been exposed to gamma rays. From a young age I've been fascinated by both science and the occult. At the same time as I looked up spells that didn't work I obsessed over machines that could. years later these interests meshed with an interest in alchemy. Along the path to adulthood I studied the basics of lock picking and began to obsess over the apocalyptic survivalism. Combine this with copious video game addictions and you have the basics of a giant geek with very little life. When I saw the woods with the spearman and the other seemingly normal people and I began to regret a lot of wishes.what do wedo for stats

Jairdan Wynne |

Name: Jairdan Wynne
Race: Male Half-Elf
Class: Monk(Martial Artist)
Alignment: NG
Backstory: My pursuits tended to be focused towards things that I felt were important to me, with a focus towards comprehension. Languages, motion, application. Languages were not neglected, picking up two from disparate families, and the third being related to one of the others. Itinerant, I had no belonging to any particular place or person, choosing instead to continue to try to improve myself wherever I went.
Intro: The feel was different. The humidity, the smells, the sounds. Uncertain, I cast about to spot any danger that might threaten me from the sudden displacement, snapping the book closed to use it to defend myself in the event the wolf-headed individual decided that he(it?) wanted to employ it on me. 'Welp, I'm out of shape', flashes through my mind before he steps forward and mentions what may be his name.
Huh... A Name... If this is somewhere new, I could reinvent myself. Nodding cautiously to him, I pat my chest and respond in kind. "Jairdan", I say, softening the 'J' so it almost becomes an 'S'.

Maybe it might be best if you all try This Website on a computer for character creation. You can use imgur to post a link to a screen shot or you can copy the text here for a comment. The latter is best, that way you can go back and edit it for leveling purposes.

A simpler option is to give simplified stats, but we do need something to get our numbers from. We have a few characters present already and the game will start shortly after I can approve them. I am excited to show you my hard work. Please put forth good effort to show you enjoy the effort I have exerted for you to have this expansive world at your disposal.

Name: Justin "TD" Ray
Race: Human
Class: Rogue (Knife Master Archetype)
Alignment: True Neutral
Backstory: I never really grew out of my obsession with knives from a young age. There's just something about the way the blade gleams as its weight shifts in your hand - it's like it's speaking to you. I would often times bore my family and my friends with my chatter about all the different types of knives and swords there are... Unfortunately, they don't offer "knives" as a major in college, so mathematics it is. I know it's a practical major.. But it's so static.. It becomes boring at times. I've always tried to keep reality and fantasy separate, but it seems like it's becoming harder and harder to put a lid on my over-active imagination. I find myself day-dreaming in class; I would much rather be outside exploring the lands, interacting with strangers, fighting monsters... Why can't the world be more like the Legend of Zelda?" I often ask - almost beckoning - for life to transcend the mundane and envelope the realm of fantasy.
Intro: A wave of nausea shook me while I struggled to take in all this new information. What...What? WHAAAAAT? I could feel my chest tightening as anxiety began to steal the breath from my lungs. Am I dreaming? I have to be dreaming... Did I fall asleep at the library? But I'm never aware that I'm dreaming whenever I'm dreaming... Am I? When was the last time I dreamt?.. Oh, God, I must be delusional... Hearing the man speak captured my attention from my wildly rushing thoughts. I could at least focus on what was going on now and rationalize the rest later. Did he just speak... What did he say? Lets cotin? Was that his name?.. I suppose he wants me to reciprocate.
"...TD. Teeee-Deeee." I enunciated whilst clapping a hand against my chest. Guess I should just enjoy this dream - or hallucination or whatever it is - while it lasts..

Being your guide, he is far more advanced that you all, and he is far more specialized, but bring an NPC he will not be entering combat. Not unless you are all going to die due to getting yourselves in way over your head. If he does enter combat, you all receive no XP, drops or gold from the encounter as it will all be his or donated to the temple. So it's best to get yourself into situations you can handle without dying.

Name: Dmitri McLanski
Race: Human
Class: Samurai (Sword Saint)
Alignment: Lawful Good
Backstory: Have you ever seen a good samurai anime? Like... a REALLY good one? One that makes you decide to join a Kendo club, learn Japanese, and go work as a bodyguard for a business man in Japan? In case you couldn't tell, I've done all of those things, and let me tell you: being a foreigner living and working in Japan isn't all it's cracked up to be. Though that may be because I was expecting to be a samurai type figure, and really I just wear a nice suit and keep people away from Yamato-sama's limo when he has to go places. I still watch those anime though, and I've broadened my horizons to include historical accounts and myths in my delusions of grandeur. Though my trips to the library have me thinking: maybe I should quit my job and go back to Poland. I think I'd be happier there. My grand dream of being able to use my martial arts skills to defend my "lord" from personal attacks has been pretty well shot, especially seeing how katanas are useless in modern day close quarters. I think I'll decide after I read this one last book...
Intro: When the world came back into focus, I fell to my knees and lost my lunch on the grass. After recovering, I saw that my embarrassment was witnessed by not just one, but multiple strangers. Wonderful way to build up honor among new people... how did they get here anyway? I thought before realizing that I had in fact vomited on grass rather than carpet. My mind froze as the realization hit me, allowing me to barely register the wolf-clothed man before us, patting himself and saying things, presumable his name. After everyone else introduces themselves, I manage to pull myself together enough a croak out a simple, "Dmitri. Where exactly are we? And how did we get here?

We have 5 with no magic, no marksman, no linguist (one maybe, not sure), tons of striker power, two possible healers, one sneaky dude, diplomacy coming along, and lots of excitement. I can start with these 5 and we can bring others up to speed when they show up. I've held campaigns with as many as 12 active players doing combat...but that was in person. When you each get a chance, post your dialogue intro in the campaign area. Start with Lanx and his greeting. Move forward with a question or two and start the story. I'm excited to get this moving!

Hi there! =)
Oh, wow, from the campaign description this looks GREAT!
From the previous posts, it looks pretty straightforward. And I shamelessly looked at your Gameplay page, so it looks like you've got a rogue and a samurai, yeah? (Hi Joey!)
If it turns out we need a cleric, I'd play one, but I'd rather fill the arcane gap.
Ummmm, if I say that I've never played one but I've always wanted to, would you allow a summoner? (And if we've got a small party, that might be for the best.)
It looks like you've got an interesting caveat for the background story. Hmmmmm.....
