Yes I am busy with the Holiday but you guys aren't ready yet. So far Harn is the the only one who armed himself. No one else is ready for the combat. I guess I didn't prompt well enough.
You need ranged weapons ready. Klug looks like he has an Idea but Xzevrra hasn't translated it yet.
I don't GMPC by the way.
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
Will arrows work fine sense I dont know if they would with the thing being underwater. Arrows dont have the wieght of those other ranged weapons.
Xzevrra |
I had asked a pretty similar question to Klug's idea...
""Is there another way to drive this creature off besides combat? Could we lure it away somehow, maybe with bright lights or loud noise, or abit of food maybe?"
hadn't seen a response to it yet. I can try to get another post up here shortly though.
Shanosuke |
I won't be able to post much til this weekend and finals are coming up soon so I will need to spend some time on that. Been having a lot of trouble with this semester of class.
I'll get this combat started.
Xzevrra, I reviewed the last page and I completely missed the spoiler in your post. I apologize.
Xzevrra |
np, np, I should've been more proactive in pointing it out. And sorry I didnt' get another post up, I was at work then and had a sudden issue monopolize the next couple hours and completely forgot about it.
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
Would a haramaki count, its armor but not the triditional kind. Regardless he would remove it, its only +1 to AC after all. Still would rather have it on then not if I could.
Shanosuke |
I'll let the Haramaki go. As long as you aren't too encumbered and aren't wearing heavy clothing. Heavy clothing includes Cloaks, robes, long sleeved tops and full leg heavy pants.
You can get away with a short top and long leg pants or vise versa. It's hot.
Also, your water skins are going too last three hours each. Those of you without waterskins with suffer the heat and may end up suffering from the thirst rules too.
Xzevrra |
If I may be so bold, as an afficionado of the alchemist class, the discovery in question is called Infusion, and is at the bottom of his sheet.
Hope you don't mind me ninjaing a peek ;p
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
I readied a action in the post before, dont know what you want to do with that. I did not have any range information so I did not put up rolls for it at the time.
Shanosuke |
I have not heard from Xzevrra or Klug. It is their turn and I do not GMPC. I will give them until tonight to post their actions and then I will push on. Given the circumstances given this fight, I will GMPC Attacks only for the two missing players so as to not impair the fight.
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
Well I am confused as to if my readied action ever goes off or not so I put it in the post. Use both if my readied counts or use only the first dice rolled if it does not.
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
Hold on Tlugos started behind people and backed up even more during a turn. How did they get to him without provoking a single AoO from everyone else in the party thats in front of him.
Shanosuke |
Xzevrra and Yamalgo are a good ways to one side. Klug and Olliver aren't threatening because they don't have their weapons drawn and I can just dodge Harn's threatening zone.
The fire dude would have attack either you or Klug and the results came up you....unless you are more than 40 feet away. Fire humans have a 40 foot movement.
If Klug has a weapon out and I happened to miss that, I suck at reading so I tend to miss things, then he may take an AoO. If someone can forward me a maps made easy program, I'll start doing maps but with school in the way, I've haven't had time to learn maptools.
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
Even with 40 ft. move speed I dont think it can get to Tlugos with a single action. He is the most far back and at least 30 ft. from Klug sense Klug (unless I missed it) has not moved. Tlugos did move back, would have kept moving back every turn but shortbows reload would not let him. But I leave it up to you. I will post in a bit.
P.S. I hope everyone is taking my proformance into account, +1 to hit/dmg.
Xzevrra |
Welcome to the Land of the Dying, Harn. Regrets can be found down the aisle to your left while bad childhood memories are straight ahead. Nightmares can be found on the second floor and if you'd like to watch your life flash before your eyes you can take a seat in the luxurious Final Rest Theatre located just off the main lobby.
Tlugos Ilmeefein |
I would like to know if I have a flanking parnter before I make my post. Also where is Harn and Xzevrra compared to Tlugos and the enemies.
Xzevrra |
Wow, Xmas is over! Gotta say this has been a draining one for me. Hope everyone had a good holiday season (for those who celebrate).
Looking over my PBPs this morning (well, evening now), I realize it's been a bigger interruption than I thought it would be. So going through and apologizing to all my games for the somewhat unexplained absence and getting updates in as applicable.
Of course, I am just laying down, so not doing much as it is ;p
Shanosuke |
I was waiting on Klug and Olliver to post. I was at work when Ollivor finally posted.
I typically do not post until ALL players have posted first. The speed of the game is determined by the slowest player. Also, sometimes I wont have time to post while I am at work. There can be a ten hour point in a day I may not have the ability to respond to posts. Also there is sleep. I am on an unusual schedule from most people.
I apologize if my posting is delayed, I try and post when I can but I can only post once everyone else has done so.
Thank you
Harn |
"The two fallen Dundamar where leather armor and have strange black crooked scimitars. Same specs as a scimitar just a different look.
You find two potions of cure mod wounds. You also find a scroll of deeper darkness. Nothing else."
Just re-posting this here so we don't forget. :)

@Xzevrra
You may want to check the range of your hand crossbow as I remember it is pretty short so you take penalties. Thats why I choose the shortbow over it. The target was at the limit of my shortbows range when I fired, 60 ft.
Xzevrra |
good point, it's only 30', so that's a -2 to attack rolls Shanosuke.
Shanosuke |
Anyone else feeling this campaign may be just a bit to draggy and confined? We could shift gears to something new if you guys would like that. I'll leave it up to you. We can truck on in the deep dark underworld or go for a change of scenery, and, ifyou desire, a change in plot too.
Let me hear your thoughts on this.
Shanosuke |
I'm thinking of changing up the setting. So far I am not digging this underground adventure as much as I had hoped.
If you guys think you can make this setting work we will continue. Othwrwise we can try one of the follow.
1. We could take your characters toss em somewhere on the surface and just wing it from there.
2. We could start a new adventure with you five making new characters and doing a story I've already run.
I've got a couple:
A desert story
A Jungle Campaign
A Island Adventure
or a city story.
I've run all of these and I like them. Let me know how you feel.
Harn |
It has slowed quite a bit.
If we made new characters, what kind of level would we be looking at?
I would like something a little higher, as the first few levels are really squishy. :P
The Jungle Campaign or Island Adventure sound the most appealing (in that order).
Just my two coppers worth.
Shanosuke |
We'd definately start at level two or above. The campaigns I mentioned above don't like squishy players either. The Jungle would have you guys at level four (Dinosaur encounters and that sort) The Isles and the City Will have you start at level 3 and the Desert has been nice to level two players.
If you like dealing with dinos and fighting feral warlords than jungles are for you. Comparable to Serpent Skull
I you like a whole new world feel while sticking to pathfinders core materials, the Isles are for you. This campaign is kind of a kin to skull and Shackles with more survival and less seafaring.
The desert is an epic step by step adventure that has you racing against unseen forces to save a lost land. Similar to legacy of fire.
The City campaign deals with the ins and outs of urban survival while under martial law and rebellion. Relates to council of thieves in a way.
If you guys would truly rather try a new campaign I will elaborate more the the above ideas.
