Just wanted to say thanks, Buggula, for that name you decided to go with. Thanks a lot.
Now all I think of every single time is this. :)

Sorry about no updates last night. Long day followed by long day to be today, and I managed to need to have a tire replaced after sliding over a curb during the storm. Plus it's a rental vehicle and I need to drive 450 miles on it still, and now I have a donut. Need to call rental company and find out what to do about it today during lunch.
In other words, I'm complaining :)
I'll try to update tonight when I get back to the hotel, but tomorrow is also a long day so it depends what time I get out tonight.

Javell DeLeon |

Dude, man that stinks. What a hassle. Sorry to hear that, bro.
You know, years ago, I was driving on snow and moved over from one lane to the next. Next thing I know, I'm sliding straight for the curb. Being a teenager, I didn't know to turn my wheels and purposely head for the curb, no, what I did was: I turned my wheels hard the other way and my passenger front tire hits the curb.
So, instead of hitting the curb with the front of my tire, I slam it with the side of my tire which bends it at an angle, basically destroying it. Wrecker and all that fun business. Man that sucked.
So, for what it's worth, at least the good thing is you can still drive it. :)

Sorry for monopolizing the thread for awhile, guys. I tried to keep it moving quickly so you didn't have to wait too long. Hopefully the information he found will prove worthwhile though.
And while taking out the entire tower singlehandedly would be AWESOME (and fitting with his backstory), knowing my luck I'd roll a couple natural 1s and end up getting myself killed. And I REALLY don't feel like having to come up with another evil character so soon after the last death.

King Markadian V |

Just a quick information posting that I will be updating tonight (probably around 7pm CST).
Also just an fyi after tonight I probably won't be able to post again until Thursday or Friday evening. Long shift tomorrow followed by a long drive, and then a long day Thursday.
I'll throw up a quick post though right now.

I'm headin' back to the smithy where... Alscott was it? Alstott? Alcott? I'm not real sure what it is to be honest. It's one of those I think. Dangit I hate that.
This is actually me. I really can't remember the dude's name so I wrote pretty much what 'I' would say. And I didn't feel like looking his name up so I just rolled with it. :)
It happens quite often in RL, I'm afraid. :P
King Markadian V |

lol, Alcott was the name. And boy do I understand. I've got a Google Doc spreadsheet to help me keep the names straight myself (I'd link it but I've got too much DM info in there).
What I do to help myself is decide I'll learn one person's name each day, and focus on learning that one person's name.

Seems like my last few posts have been a tad on the brief side (Having Bostarg RP at the temple's gate?) Let me know if I'm overreacting to my own posts.

HP Roll- 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Stat Point- Intelligence
Rogue Talent- Slow Reactions (target sneak attacked cannot make AOO's for one round)
Scouts Charge gained- Charge actions treat foe as sneak attackable.
Charsheet updated. Incidentally, turns out Alazandaru spoke Dwarven... He just had a lot on his mind apparently ;).

Alazandaru Viorec |

Guys I think I fell off the wealth wagon at some point... Where should we be at? Morthos' gear value significantly above Alazandaru's so i've clearly missed something or some loot split... Or messed something up in one of my edits...

Jonas allows his passage back to the inn to weave and wend back past the brothel that he spied earlier... merely to gauge whether the den of iniquity hides itself during the day.
He's just passing by for the articles. ;)
Also, I forgot to add my attribute increase. Should be fixed now; I put it in Dex to help her AC.

This information will be put into the campaign tab when I get a chance. Aldencross has a GP limit of 1,400 and a purchase limit of 7,500. So any magical item wanted that costs less than 1,400 gp has a 75% chance of being present. Feel free to make rolls as necessary in the OOC tab to see if anything is available. We can assume it's picked up during daily travels.
For anything over 1,400gp, there are two ways to go about it. The first is the standard what's available rolls. I'll list those in the campaign tab as well, including what shop (possible RP stuff).
In addition there are NPCs capable of crafting in town as well. These NPCs can be hired to craft items, though at full cost and under the prescribed limits. I'll try to list them as possible. For spells, Aldencross has 3rd level spells divine and 4th level spells arcane, for consideration when crafting. If you have any questions let me know.
If this method ends up being too time consuming or undesirable, let me know. There are other towns further down the AP you will encounter and this is the system I plan to use for those as well. I'm more than willing to change things if the PCs are unhappy about it or not enjoying this method.

Works fine for me. I use the same rules for Kingmaker. What I do find is a nice house rule for it is that any item up to 10% of the base value can be found without the 75% roll; started using this when my PC's in Kingmaker couldn't find 50GP potions of enlarge in a city where the base value was over 6K.

King Markadian V |

I'd be fine with that as a house rule to the system. Makes enough sense to me at least. I'll allow it.
I'm actually curious to see the rules in effect a bit. My normal home games rules on purchasing magical items has always been pretty loose in general, mostly handled before or after in what we call the 'Item Game'. It's pretty much us asking the GM if something's available and the GM deciding if he's fine with it there or not.

So what's the plan from here? I see plans about liberating a farmhouse, making poisons, having Jed check out the brothel, getting the map from the dwarves, etc.
Also as a side note, if you want to just cruise the town for rumors, or stay downstairs in the Inn listening to gossip and whatnot, you can find out random information (not all of which is true).

Bostarg Halvardonwine |
I put my hand up and firmly claim responsibility. Mark has been busy and wrangling teething toddlers and such for a while and hasn't been able to let Bostarg sing as well as he should.
More words will come soonish, and I think almost a time break for a couple of days where we do some research (but don't necessarily RP every exchange) will help?
Plus I'll level to 4th soon... honest...

I shamelessly admit that I've been copping out with the nap due to an insanely stressful month dealing with RL issues. The nap just happened to work in game and was at a most fortuitous time. I managed to get myself kicked from another game during the same time period.
Luckily I survived with my family, body, marriage, and job all still relatively unscathed, and took the last week off for vacation. After a relaxing break, I'm doing much better and have been able to catch up with all my PbP games (except the one where I got the boot).
We do have lots of options presented here, but I'm still staying interested in the proceedings enough, even though I haven't really done much lately. I'm ok if we take a bit more time as we finish preparations and casing the town, then we'll need to sit down IC and decide what route (or routes) to choose.
My personal and completely unbiased vote would be for the secret tunnel, of course. ;)

King Markadian V |

Glad to hear from you Count Buggula, and glad to hear things are improving it sounds like!
If at any time I tend to over-RP unimportant interactions, please feel free to let me know, either by post or PM. I don't always know when I'm overdoing things and certainly don't mind a heads up.
It looks like you want to speed through a couple days, which is perfectly fine. Just give me a rough outline of what you each want to try to find out or do. And I'll move us forward.

Javell DeLeon |

Nahhh, you ain't over-Rping anything, bud. Don't change how you're rollin'. It's cool to me.
And I ain't got no problem speeding up through a couple days as far as that goes.
I'm with Buggula on the secret tunnel, though. Reminds me of This! :)

Bostarg will soon be on a short vacation to the land downunder for a whirlwind feast of familial visitation, bacon and egg muffins and iced coffee. Departure is scheduled for this evening at 11:55 PM GMT+8. Characterful service will experience a slight delay in response time during the period and if patience could be extended that would be delightful.
The Bostarg unit should be returned to normal function and reliability on the evening of the 23rd of April GMT+8.

"It would be wise to have a second base of operations anyway," Tatya opines. "Should any of us become compromised, we will have somewhere to go other than the inn." She glances appraisingly at Aedorn. "We two should be able to handle a crazy old woman, unless there is more to her than the village knows. The rumors about eccentric old hermits are sometimes more than rumors."
A friend of mine when he would run a game, it was never safe to mess with farmers. Every farmer (at least every one the PCs would deal with) would be some 20th level character with a +5 Vorpalsword hanging over his hearth, too retired to bother dealing with the goblins kidnapping townsfolk but more than willing to 'teach those younguns a lesson'. Of course the worst was Sherrif Andy, the epic level sherriff who went around making PCs lives miserable whenever they found loot, or wanted to do anything devious.
Of course I could complain about his games forever, like the fact ALL drow had contingent delayed blast fireballs tattooed on their backs to ensure no one could get their loot, contingent upon looting their body, solely because it was spiteful and drow are spiteful.
