Chuffee takes his new stuff and adorns himself accordingly, very proud of the new dogslicer. He seems most gleeful though over the jar of pickled fishie-heads.

Reta approaches Chuffee, standing over him and narrowing her eyes menacingly.

Reta like trade too. You give Reta extra dogslicer, Reta not hit you in soft parts with club. Good trade?

Chuffee runs. "My shiny... Here you take this!" He tosses the last dead mole at her over his shoulder.

Moggy takes his shiny new frog and stores it in the safest place he could think of, his mouth. He made sure his razor sharp teeth were joined in a strange grin to make sure the frog had plenty of air to breathe. He thinks better and hands mean ole Reta his dogslicer. Better for Rer to keep scary dogs away from Moggy!

Moggy the best! I make sure dogs kill Chuffee and Poog before you. Reta smiles broadly, looking over the new weapon with a mad woman's glee.

"Murgh grumph reduh farlo sielukew," Moggy says with a grin, keeping his new pet safe in his mouth and muttering an unintelligible response. Loosely translated to "Moggy run as Reta's fat head am eaten."

"ZARUNGEL!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME GIMME!! POOG IS SET GOBBO ON FIRE IF NOT HAVE ZARUNGEL COLLECTABLE!" Poog finally exclaims. "Or maybe Poog just go ahead and find you frog."

He turns around and looks for another amphibian to capture.

"AHA!"

With cat-like reflexes, Poog jumps and snatches another toad. "POOG IS DA BESTEST LICKTOAD!"

"Me already has a toad... you has zarongel thingie already but it has toof marks on it... I give, you owes me. yes?"

The horrible morning sunshine slowly gives way to a refreshing, dank drizzle as the goblins cross the marsh on their way to the Cave of Darkfear. Before they reach their destination though, they come upon a rudely-shaped fallen log blocking the path. A weasely, green-grey figure climbs astride it. Kettlehead the Goblin! His polished pot still perched upon his puckered puss. he cries. Stupid baby wannabe goblins! As a pair of other whelps from the cage- Culgick and Rempty- scramble up beside him. Kettlehead continues, waving a mean looking dogslicer over his head. You took toads from Kettlehead's special pond and now you have to pay my price. Give me your toads! And say you be stupid!

Two answers to Moggy's life issues were staring at him. Kettle head, had the perfect hat to cover Moggy's dumb butterfly birthmark. Second, Bad Rempty, his tormenter was there as well. If he could figure a way to get the hat, and for Rempty to get killed? That'd be a great day.

Moggy pulls one of his fiery gourds throws it at Kettle head.

When Kettlehead and the others show up, Chuffy draws his javelin and throws it at Kettlehead...

This would count as a surprise round so you wouldn't be able to draw a weapon and attack. Move or standard only. Not that it is going to matter with those rolls.

Yup- didnt post that badge since noone got it. What it did was one time use you can call forth a stream of blistering invectives against a single creature with an int score of 3 or more within 30 feet. This allows the user to attempt an intimidate to demoralize that creature witha +5 circumstancial bonus on the roll. If exceed target Dc by 5 or more then target is staggered for 1 round instead of shaken.

The goblins begin to draw their weapons which causes Kettlehead to sneer and draw his own. I kill you and take your toads then Whelps!

Chuffy hurls his javelin at Kettlehead. The javelin sticks in the goblins shoulder, nearly knocking him from the log and into the muck below.

Poog steps up and washes the goblins over with fire from Zargonel. Kettlehead quickly falls dead into the much and the two severely wounded whelps drop their dogslicers into the swamp kneel, begging forgiveness. You win. You stronger than Kettlehead! You best new goblins in tribe!

Reta approaches the cowering whelps, grinning maniacally. Good, then you come with us to the cave of darkfear. You walk in first and get eaten. We come after you and laugh. Good plan.

Moggy runs and grabs Kettlehead's kettle. He wedges it on his own head. "Kettlehead Moggy now!". He raps on the kettle with his knuckles and the reverberations almost knock him over.

He shakes his head and runs over and kicks Rempty into the muck. "Rempty leave Moggy alone now, since am tough warrior and burn with fire!"

"ALL HAIL ZARUNGEL HOW IS MIGHTY AND STRONG AND PROBABLY SOMEWHAT GOOD-LOOKING BUT NOT AS MUCH AS POOG!!!"shouts an over-excited Poog, who then begins dancing the obligatory Zarungel Victory Dance. Once exhausted, he stops and pants:"Rita have bestestest idea. Culgick and Rempy is now official Lick tribe trapfinder-gobbos!"

"Onwards Lick tribe trapfinders! Explore, Explode, Disintegrate!" as he begins looting the fallen Kettlehead (sans the kettle).

Mogmurch finds a few additional items on Kettlehead:

With the goblins bully out of the way, the whelps continue on their way to the Cave of Darkfear to present their toads to the dread spirit who lurks within.

In the shade of gray cypress trunks, a sagging human made cave squats on the muddy ground, overgrown with swamp brambles and leaning precariously to one side.

Moggy will let Poog have the gear, except the kettle of course. "Poog, Moggy am thirsty. Why don't all goblins drink Kettlehead's magic potions? Make goblins big and strong and mighty!"

Chuffy collects his javelin and follows the trapfinder goblins, javelin in one hand, dogslicer in the other.

Didn't they have dogslicers?

Chuffy peers into the dark cave from the entrance... If he can't see anything he'll push one of the captive whelps in in front of him before stepping in himself.

The small cave seems to wind a bend a shortways so Chuffy pushes the shaking whelps inside first. After a few short moments a shrill scream is heard from inside the cave as the two defeated goblins come frantically running out and run in different directions through the swamp and far away from the cave.

Seeing what all the commotion was about Chuffy goes inside. The interior is dark but thanks to Chuffy's superior goblin eyes he has no problem, revealing leaning and partially collapsed shelves, heaps of shattered pottery, a junk strewn table, and rusting animal traps. A partially mummified but mostly skeletal human body slumps against one wall. This must be the fabled "Spirit of Darkfear"! A broken off, cobweb strewn horsechopper (Now useless as a weapon) just from the corpses chest.

To finish the coming of age ritual, each goblin must hold up their toad, high in the air, before the spirit and announce themselves by singing their personal goblin song. (Conveniently located on your character sheet)

Chuffy walks up to the body and chants aloud while dancing a little jig and displaying his toad prominently in the air over his head:

Chuffy's face might make you sick,
But Chuffy's knife is awful quick.
And if you are his stabby pick -
The knife goes in you, stick stick STICK!!!"

While being brave enough to go first, Chuffy is still not very brave, and beats a hasty retreat after singing his song...

Moggy boldly strides into the cave, holds up his frog, repeats his refrain and sprints back to the outside of the cave.

"Things go boom when Mogmurch throws,
Much more fun than using bows.
Sometimes where the boom boom blows
Am not my fault--that's how it goes!"

Poog takes Kettlehead's belongings, and takes only one of the shortswords present. "One for Chuffee, other for Rita or Moggy; Poog say they fight over it for the glory of best buddy Zarungel!"

Poog walks on in, proudly displaying not one, but TWO toads! Thrusting them both at the skeletal remains, he chants:

"Poog say Zarongel is the best,
He help burn things and heal the rest.
Zarongel’s favor makes Poog blessed.
And Poog also stab you with knife if
you make fun of how he isn’t good at
riding animals."

Reta steps up, toad in one hand and shield in the other, and clears her throat. Then she screams at the top of her lungs, threatening to bring the cave down on their heads:

Reta chop and Reta bite!
Reta slay and Reta fight!
Reta stab and Reta smite!
Reta kills it all just right!

Each of the whelps sings their own goblin song. Some need a bit more work than others but overall the spirit seems satisfied as it begins to rattle and move on it's own. It seems that all of the yelling and singing as awoken and angered a pair of grabby cats (raccoons) as they wish to silence the intruders.

Ignore the remainder of the forest. The mud circle is the inside of the cave you are in so please don't leave it during combat.

Poog advances onwards, clumsily drawing his club to bash the grabby-cat's brains out.

"Poog meant to do that! Hitting myself is how I tell Zarungel I love him!"

Chuffee has weapon finesse - if the dogslicer is a finessable weapon, that should be a 15 to hit in the previous post

Yup- Dogslicer is a light weapon so it would get weapon finesse.

Mogmurch's fiery gord misses and ends up splashing all over himself and the green grabby cat!

Poog fumbles around and drops his club on his foot as the red grabby cat hisses violently at him and swiping a clawed paw.

The raccoon dodges Reta's blade as all of the goblins seem to be caught off guard. Chuffy is the only one to land a solid blow as he cuts deep into the critters backside.

The two grabby cats bite back at the goblins.

Moggy throws one of the shiny darts he picked up at the green cat.

All of the goblins seem to have their eyes closed as each of them swing wildly and miss the raccoons. the raccoons continue to bite and claw t the small nuisances.

Reta stabs her dogslicer into the red raccoon. the animal slumps to the ground as it begins to bleed out As Mogmurch ignites the remaining on on fire with his gourd.

"Aw me wanted cage... But me take shineys instead." He grabs the thieves tools, puts on the broken spectacles. "Me look smarter now." Then he grabs a tanglefoot bag too.
