-The Ogre’s Nose is not unlike any other tavern in Redwall. It was no cleaner, and certainly a good deal dirtier than the others. It lacked any unusual features. All of the usual vices were available, be they women, cards, or liquor, and nobody who had any pretentions to either class or morals went near the place.
-A few people stood out in particular. First was the bouncer. He was an enormous man, nearly 7 feet tall, and all muscle. His left arm had been amputated at the elbow. Even more intimidating were his hunched back and curiously small, misshaped head, as if one had put a grape on a watermelon. He talked nervously to himself in a strange language nobody seemed to understand. With such a creature as a guard, few braggarts or wannae-be toughs went to the Ogre’s Nose twice. The miserable ogre-kin carried a plank of wood with a long spike through it. The obvious blood stains on his weapon showed it had been used, and the man’s small eyes darted around the room, keeping an eye on the patrons.
-The two barmaids were half-elf. They were also rather damaged. The one, Eliza, had a long scar running across her face, from over her left eye, across her nose, and through her lip. The poor job that had been done stitching her face back together marred what would have been a beautiful face. Eliza, it was said, had come about her injuries while working in the oldest profession.
-The other barmaid, Babette, was deaf. She simply brought drinks to the table, and did as the bar owner, proprietor, and bon vivant Luc singed to her. Babette was of average appearance, rather short, slightly plump, and had brown hair, cut at neck length.
-The Barman, Luc Bagette, was the worst of the lot. His hands shook, and he could barely see. His accent was certainly not from around here, and he kept leering at the two serving women. In fact, he seemed determined to bother any female patron to his establishment. The fact that almost every woman ever rebuffed him, sometimes even spitting on him or slapping him only added to his enthusiasm. The word to describe Luc was ‘slimy’.

After the interesting night eliminating the thugs, Durnak and the crew headed to a local watering hole, the Ogre's Nose, to see if any other news of these thugs was to be heard.

Interesting, I wonder how he gets enough Absinthe to become addicted to the stuff.

Good thing this is Genisen's first time then!

Genisen bellies up to the bar and orders a drink, eyepatch over the left eye. Seeing the looks Luc gives the women, he notes it and asks him, "So anything to do around here?"

--Anyzing to do around here? Monsieur, what is it zat you wish to do?Luc almost grabs your hand, whether you had offered it or not.Should any of the 2 lovely ladies interest you, do let me know, if not, I'm sure something else could be arranged, for your pleazure...n'est pas?

"Its not what I wish to do but what it is I am not willing to do, which is a very short list. Eh? Eh?" Genisen gives the man a couple elbows. "I would very much like to do the 'nestpas', sounds intriguing"

-Luc leans over and whispers into you ear,

--There are a few other patrons, all of whom seem to be busy playing cards or dice. The air is thick with smoke, from the various pipes being smoked, filled with who knows what...

Spoiler:
"Definitely interested, though I need more 'juice' first. Get the blood flowing. I'll check up on that later"

--Luc makes a motion and Babette comes over. He has her sit on a bar stool next to you and she begins rubbing your shoulder and upper arm. Buy the lady a drink, elf wine, only 1 silver Luc suggests. I promise she'll make it up to you...And for you, may I suzzest someting with a kick, a little dwarven vodka. Cheap only 10 silver a shot...

Krol and Ava sit down, being closer to the group now after their adventuring as a group and sit at the bar, Ava still in her robe and her hood up to hide her looks from most people.

Krol looks to the man with a smile
"Evening good sir. Do you know of any Scholars in town around? A focus on magic or the planes." he asks as he looks to the man and not interested in his addiction. "I'd like some fine wine, but if you don't have any, I'll have some water. The same for my companion here." he states in the direction of Ava.

DM:

Any strange scents? Ava has the scent ability so she should be able to smell anything odd like poison or if there are dead bodies anywhere in the tavern. It's only 30ft radius, unless downwind where it's 60ft and upwind is 15ft. Just mentioning this as I know I'll probably forget.

Overhearing the very loud whisper to Genisen, Durnak looks at him and shakes his head. He then continues to scan the room. So far the two buildings he has wandered into this day have resulted in bloodshed, he would prefer to avoid making it three for three.

After looking around, he walks to the bar and orders an ale.

He then turns to the woman being offered to Genisen.
Good evening. I am Durnak, what brings a lovely lady like yourself to a place like this. From the looks of the patrons here, a woman such as you should be very careful.

Fearghus thumps down on the stool next to Genisen, oblivious to his and the bartender's exchange.

Raising an eyebrow at Genisen's headlong dive into the strong stuff, he nodded at the bartender, "Ale, please, 'keep. 'm after thinkin' as my frien' 'ere as is one as'll be needin' lookin' after if'n the dwarf spirits're gettin' th'better a' him if'n y'know what I'm sayin'."

When the bar staff are momentarily preoccupied, he whispered to Genisen.

Genisen:

"Sorry f'r buttin' in on y'r business, but this place is one as raises m'hackles an' it's more than a mite happier I'd be if'n we keep on 'r toes."

-As everybody does their respective thing in the bar, a party of four men come in. They all wear cheap, cracked leather armor, and carry short swords and daggers at their sides. They are wearing cloaks, and seem, well, odd. One of them stands and stares up at the bouncer, with the other three going over to Luc.
--Luc, the man wants his money, he's tired of waiting.Their leader says. Either pay up now, or we start trashing the place. As if to prove the point, one of the men flips over a gaming table, setting chips, cards, and silver coins across the floor.

Krol shakes his head, not wanting another fight with a bunch of thugs and hoping to dispell things calmly.

"Now sir, please could you just sit down and discuss this quietlyl. Me and my companion here are trying to enjoy a plesent drink and we cannot concentrait with you and your thugs turning over tables to make some point." he gestures in the direction of the man who turned the table over. "I'm sure if you just sit down, have a drink on me you can work this out like civilised gentlemen."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

damn that's a good role, I was hoping it'd be bad, the moron would pick a fight thinking I was being honest when I only mentioned Ava and not other other members of the group, who'll promptly kick the smurf out of him before he realises what happens.

Ava merely looks at Krol and the situation that is evolving around them. She has to hold herself back at these demands, reminded once again of the last tavern they were in, making this seem like bad luck. She keeps the hood up, looking over at the man and hiding her hands in the robes, getting her nails sharp and ready for if combat errupts.

--Much to your shock, the ringleader of the group turns around and says Look little man, it's not your problem. We've no desire to make things ugly, but Luc, the pig licking, fairy drinking pimp here, decided to make some very powerful enemies. Now, you could just try to ignore this, and all go about your way, or we could see about making you even shorter. Your choice. The door is over there.
--Luc interjects Zis is an outrage. First, I agree to 'elp 'im, and now 'e wants more money from moi? C'est ridicule!Luc pounds his fist on the bar...
-The ogrekin and the lone thug at the door try to stare each other down. You notice the thug starts to break a sweat, seeing his possible opponent being nearly 2 feet taller than he is.

Forgive me sir, but from where I am sitting you are at a disadvantage. For one, the bodyguard over there I'm sure would be more than happy to turn your men into pâté where as me and my companions," Krol motions to Ava, Durnak, Feargus and Genisen. "Just came in here for a drink and now you threaten to rough me up along with the rest of the bar. Also, my companion here is more than she seems, as we'll demonstrait." as he says this he lifts up his hair to reveal the arcane tatoo on his head.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Ava takes down her hood, revealing a matching arcane tatoo on her head and opens her mouth in a snarl, revealing two razor-sharp fangs and scales around the base of her neck. Pulling her arms back on the robe she reveals her arms, hands with sharpened nail with the hardness of claws and her forearms covered in red scales that glint and shine in the light.
"If you touch one hair on his head, I'll tear out your organs." she threatens as she leers at him with a obvious dislike.

--WHAT THE *#&$*( IS THAT! The leader shouts at Ava. We're leaving. NOW. Get out! he shouts to his men. They almost fall over each other in an attempt to leave. The leader stops in the doorway and shouts ,You're all marked men! You've messed with the wrong people in Redwall. And Luc, he's going to hear about this.
--The room is quiet, hushed. The 4 thugs clearly won't be back anytime soon...

--Luc pulls a bottle of a green faintly glowing liquid on the counter, and pours himself a glass. He drops in a sugar cube, stirs it, and drinks the whole thing down. He stops shaking, and says Well, I'd say merci, but I don't know if zis is for the best. You see...I owe both money and a few favors to a certain man. He is rather dangerous, and you can see he wants his money...I'm afriad you've endangered yourself...But...Well I will answer your questions...if you wish. In return for going out of your way to help me, I can offer you all a room, and board, for free, on the 'ouse as you say, no?

--The two women, Babette and Eliza, get up and decide to sit with the gnome. Eliza says Thanks for ending that situaion, while Babette simply starts rubbing the gnomes shoulders.

Having missed all the fun and the massages, the fair-skinned cleric enters the bar. After hearing the exotic accent, Luther remarks,

"I am having a sense of Vu Ja De, which is being in a situation or place for the first time ever."

Watching Krol's rub down, he says, "Luc, this is your lucky day. We happen to be some do gooders who feel bad and dangerous men need to be taught a lesson."

Speaking to Fearghus, "The life of the holy warrior can be a tough one. You guys let the toughs get away this time."

Krol, feeling rarther tough after everything and with the two women now crowding him, shrugs his shoulders.
"We are no strangers to danger. We recently killed a man by the name of Yale who was also a crimelord of somekind." he states as he loks to the women with a smile, enjoying the attention Babette is giving him. "Besides, where I come from criminals wouldn't dare start trouble so publicly. Magic is feared where I come from and there are many superstitious people about."

Ava covers herself up again instinctively and then sits down, still close to Krol but not next to him as the two women have now crowded him. She looks to the women and then back to the rest of the group.
"We should hunt them down. Destroy every criminal element until there are no more evil thugs around." she states, obviously wanting to clear this town of evil.

Eliza laughs and says It would be easier to kill every man woman and child in Redwall than stamp out the evil here. It is here, even the name of the city is bloody. A red wallShe laughs again, and is taken over by a coughing fit...and spits into her apron.

So hit the warehouse at dawn?

M Human Paladin 2; Init +2; Per +0; HP 24; AC 18, T 12, FF 16; F +5, R +2, W +3

"Aye, Durnak's th'right a' things. It worked really good for us earlier... may as well keep th'ball rollin'."

--Luc shows you to the tavern loft, where there is a large single room with 10 bunkbeds. The room is dirty, with dust and spiders in the corners. You take turns keeping watch, but the night passes unevenfully. At dawn you set out to scout the warehouse
-The warehouse is rather near the old ironworks, in the same district of the city. The buildings here are either old or abandoned, and some are in need of serious repair. A few of the oldest look like they'd fall over with a kick. The warehouse is a 2 story brick building. It has no windows on the first floor, and small 2 foot square windows on the second floor. The windows are barred, and the glass is frosted, so you can't see anything. On the first floor there is a large iron door set into the brick. The building is in much better condition than those around it. Two sleepy city guards stand watch at the door. Why is the city guard here anyway?
-The guards have pikes, and wear shortswords. They lean on their pole-arms lazily.
-It's 5AM. You are in an alleyway, providing you shadow as you look at the scene described. It's 50 feet to the front door.

You've got a bit of a problem, the guards are against a wall, so you'd have to approach them head on...In otherwords, you'd have to leave the shadows to approach the front door. The guards are only about 3 feet from the building...basically you're going to come flying out of the shadows and hit them in a surprise round...that will work...but you won't be in cover.
