I am good to advance a day. Erick is going to head back into the tower to try and reach higher levels. Need to see more before I can formulate any sort of a plan.

Celestine, the Hellish Incanter |

I'm also good to advance a day... and would like to warp around and set fires after making a plan to do so efficiently. XD

Zyxtyvia Darkshadow |

Zyx will follow along with Erick after she gets some poisons in town to sully food for the guards when the time comes.

Marvin Fenster |

I don't have any good ideas about where I'll be most useful, so if someone has some suggestions, Marvin will follow along.

Celestine, the Hellish Incanter |

All right, are we go on the 'set fire to things' plan, or did you want to wait on that?

Erick plans on looking like a different soldier and try to get up to the next level, though he will need someone a bit better at talking their way through.
In the morning Erick looks to the rest. "Cool, well I am headed back in. Anyone want to come with and try and 'talk' their way past the guards at the door so we can get up to the important people?"

Zyxtyvia Darkshadow |

"I will go along again but I am also concerned with this new tracker that will show up. I am sure you heard the rumors. Vethia Dora is on her way here. Folks say she has killed a few dragons in her time. We should think of a way to deal with her as well."

"There's a dragon 'round here?" Erick stares in blank astonishment.
Shaking his head clear. "You get us upstairs and we will figure something out. Let's go!"
Erick skips off towards the hidden trap door so that Zyx can work her magic words against the guards as he changes his form once again.

Zyxtyvia Darkshadow |

Zyxtyvia gives an odd look at Erick since she knows she does not have a honey coated tongue to lie.... although she acknowledges she is probably better at it than the brutish brawler is. She casts mage armor on herself and then changes her look to be one of the castle guards again.

Marvin Fenster |

"If you're heading to the upper levels, I might as well come with you, in case things turn out poorly, but I'm not much for sweet talking our way out of a mess, so I hope you've got a plan."
Once they were down in the tunnel, Marvin changed his appearance to a veteran soldier and prepared some magical protections just in case.
Spending 3 spell points on +1 deflection, +3 armor and +1 shield for 3 hours.

Sorry about the delay. I've been working through some personal stuff and haven't been in the headspace to post anything substantial. I should be back to normal in the next few days. In the meantime, where's everyone heading inside the Watchtower? You're disguised as soldiers, so nobody will give you trouble unless you do something suspicious. The map is essentially the same as Erick/Zyxtyvia's last look-around.

Celestine, the Hellish Incanter |

Uh, I was kind of hoping for an answer from the party as to whether or not Celestine should go around setting rooftops on fire. XD; Whether or not she joins them on the way to the Watchtower depends on that.

Zyxtyvia Darkshadow |

i think setting fires would be a good idea. at a minimum it would distract the town watch and may be divert resources to an internal fire watch in lieu of an external invasion watch

Zyxtyvia Darkshadow |

still here- a tad sick but still here

Celestine, the Hellish Incanter |

Let's go with that plan, then. XD While the others are having fun at the Watchtower, Celestine will be burning things while disguised, igniting as a move action and immediately warping as a standard action. Should any trouble manage to catch up with her, she'll prioritize escaping through a series of long-distance Warps.

I think I'm going to go ahead and call the game at this point. We've been extremely slow-paced for quite some time, and it looks like we've already lost Marvin. Plus, it's looking like this type of sandbox play doesn't work well over PbP, and the vast majority of the next Book will be more of the same - except over a much longer time period. It's been fun gaming with the four of you. Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Marvin Fenster |

I'm here, I was just waiting for the next post when we infiltrate the fortress for some assassinations. I do think you're right about sandbox gameplay being really hard over play-by-post.

Celestine, the Hellish Incanter |

It's very true that Sandbox-style stuff is hard over PbP. Railroad-y plots in general really do tend to work better.
